A possible contract [Darth Morgoth]

eve_contest_11.jpg

Mrrew sat in his large office within the Okyaab freighter that served as the headquarters for the Beast Hunter's Guild. A client, one [member="Darth Morgoth"], had contacted him about a supply of Rhak Skuri venom, which he had recently gained access to through his merge with Verres Trading. So no the Togorian was waiting for him to show, wondering if he'd be able to find the ship alright. Meanwhile, a protocol droid stood near the airlock, waiting to escort Morgoth to Mrrew's office, his arms laden down with a tray of drinks and cookies. It was always a good idea to offer refreshments to potential buisness partners; it gets them warmed up and comfortable before discussing terms. Plus, who dosen't like cookies?

Melkor's burst out of hyperspace, he smiled as he thought about how much he loved his baby. He gracfully maneuvered the ship that could outrun tie fighter's into the large ships docking port. Standing up he did some last checks and walked to the storage container, he picked out his lightsaber, his favorite pistols, and his vibroblade, it was supposed to be a peaceful meet but you never know. Then he picked up a case, it was a small briefcase looking thing, and walked off the ship.

Looking around he found a droid and said "I am Morgoth, I believe I have an appointment here?" The droid quickly motioned for the pureblood to follow. Melkor obliged and followed it into the office of the leader of the beast hunters guild. He bowed, his leather armor creased though his chainmail did not make a sound. As he rose he said " Good to see you again"

Mrrew smiled, and did a little head-bow in return. [member="Darth Morgoth"], one of the people he toured through the Shadowlands as Terentatek bait. He was suprised that he wanted anything to do with him or the Guild after using him as bait, but he was glad at the buisness oppurtunity. The Togorian took note of each of Morgoth's visible weapons, where they were,a nd how fast he could get to them, before nodding. You could never be to careful.

He gestured for the Pureblood to take a seat in the large comfortable chair oppisite of Mrrew. He didn't beat around the bush.

"Right. You want a supply of Rhak Skuri venom?"

[member="Mrrew"]

Melkor took a seat and smiled and said "Yes, but first I have a gift, a token of my appriciation if you will. He raised his cased and laid it on the table and oppened it. He chuckled and said "As I hunter I am sure you have heard of the Vulcan Industries Mjonir bow? (the rancor bone one) Well this is the only left not in circulation. One of the four made from the bones of a rancor resistant to lightsabers and light enough to run with but strong enough to take out most beasts with. Well This my friend is for you as a token of our mutual beinifit as it were"

Mrrew raised the whiskers over his eyes, and opened the case. A bow made of Rancor bone... Certainly unique. He hadn't the faintest idea how to shoot one, but it would be nice to put on his wall. The Togorian smiled, and nodded in thanks. "Ah... I didn't realize we were exchanging gifts. I would have brought an Akk dog." Mrrew gave a fang-filled smiled, and shrugged. "I appreciate the gift. Will it be these bows you need the Rhak Skuri venom for?"

Melkor knw he woul have to explin the weapon and he said " Its activated by simply pulling your hand through the arc in a fist, then release the fist and it will generate a plasma bolt, in essence it shoots lightsaber blades. " After bowing he sat back down and said "Now I and working on a line of meele weaponary which will use the poison metal mixed with other metals. I am willing to give you 40% of the income for a standing contract for incoming vials of the poison"

Mrrew blinked at the bow. It shot... lightsaber blades. It shot. Lightsaber. Blades. ... He made a mental note to look into supply contracts with Titan industries. After a moemnt of staring at the bow, and imagining how effective it would be against certain creatures, the Togorian looked up, and nodded at [member="Darth Morgoth"]. He'd already discussed this with Verres Trading, the company that actually made the Rhak Skuri venom, and got approval. This would be a good profit The Guild and Verres, as well as Titan INdustries if all went well. As far as he knew, there was no other mass produced weapon containing a poison of this caliber out there. The chance for large amounts of credits was high. However, he wanted to knmow all he could before signing papers.

"What kind of melee weaponry? Swords? Spears? Clubs? Pinwheels?" You might laugh at the thought of a pinwheel being a weapon, but those young students who paid attention in history class know that an entire company of ancient imperial Stormtroopers in full body armor were brought down by sticks and stones carried by care bears Ewoks. Anything can be a weapon.

Melkor grinned and said " Well I will probably start out with simple vibro blades but I am working on an alloy with a metal called ultrachrome. This would bake this a weapon that would outclass lightsabers by a mile, it would be able to deflect blasers slugs and lightsabers. The reason I need your poison is to give it somthing that a lightsaber could never. Vulcan Industries wants swords that would amazingly well suited to allowing non force users to fight those who use the force without the years of training required to use a lightsaber. As you can imagine, with the right buyer, these will sell for a fortune."
[member="Mrrew"]

The whiskers over Mrrew's left eye raised. Swords that beat lightsabers. Made out of Ultrachrome. Interesting. He'd have to make the hilt out of something else, of course, so that the user wouldn't burnt heir hand when the metal spreads energy across it's surface... Other then that, it's a fantastic idea. Though he wasn't sure how he'd get enough of such a rare material. It was certainly good enough to sign a supply contract for. Actually, it was good enough that... "What are the chances of getting one of these?" The Togorian smiled. He was certain that either way handing over the Rhak Skuri venom would be a profitable idea. But if he could get a free super sword out of it, too? Why not try? If not, then he could always just buy one.

Melkor chuckled and said "Well that depends, what are the chances of getting you to add into the contract, a bulk lot buy of the standard production versions of that bow for your hunters, same capabilities but with durasteel casing? I could do a hundred for 100,00 credits? In that case I'm sure I could send you sword or two"

Hmm. Tempting, but so few people actually knew how to fire a bow. In the long run it would cost him more money then it was worth. That's the sad part about running a buisness; some times you have to give up interesting things, such as ultrachrome swords, to make money... He'd probably buy one, however, once they were on the market. Not a big loss- he was simply see how far [member="Darth Morgoth"] would go to get the contract signed. Honestly, he was happy that hedidn't go for the deal. This showed that he knew how to make money, by asking for the second contract. Which meant he'd get all the more money by signing this.

"I'll have to decline about that. However, I do think this contract would be in both of our favors... Do you have a pen?"

Melkor pulled out a holopad and signed on the dotted line, then he passed the pad @Mrrew. He smiled and said "I think it most deffinitly will, by the way let me know if you have any other items I could potentially used in my designs."

Mrrew nodded, and took the comparatively tiny stylus for the pad in his hand. With a slight frown at the stylus smaller tehn his pinky finger, the Togorian scrawled a signature on the pad. Well, all over the pad. But most of it was on the dotted line. Sort of. Mrrew handed the pad back to Morgoth.

"Certainly."

Mrrew stood up, raising a hand about as large at [member="Darth Morgoth"]'s head to shake. "A pleasure doing buisness with you."
