Clover listened—really listened this time, her expression softening just a touch as Ayumi spoke. “Mm… many voices becoming noise,” she murmured, almost to herself. “I can see that.”

Her gaze lifted back to Ayumi with a small, knowing smile. “But you don’t sound like the kind of person who gets lost in noise.”

The lift opened, and Clover’s eyes flicked briefly across the room—taking in the people, the space, the energy—before settling right back where they preferred to be. On Ayumi.

She followed easily as they moved, close enough that it felt intentional without being possessive. “Helping people without enriching yourself,” Clover echoed lightly, one brow lifting. “That feels… rare.”

A faint smirk followed. “Dangerously admirable, even.” She tilted her head, studying her again as they walked. “Though I have a feeling,” Clover added, voice dipping just slightly, “you still find ways to enjoy it more than most.”

A beat. Her smile returned—easy, warm, and just a little wicked. “And I’m very glad you do,” she murmured, “because it means I get to enjoy this version of you.”

She looked at her for a moment. "I never said I didn't enrich myself, it is just not taking from the people I was voted in to help. In other cases and most of the time, the enrichment comes because when i do good. The people flourish, the more they flourish the more things proceed in our new districts for court and judgment. Means legal fees and it is in Denon's provisions from previous senators that they receive a stipend from all judgments as they help facilitate and implement the judgments. Normally thing is small, a proceeding that costs three hundred credits for an hour might net four credits. We have expanded the pool of courts from under four hundreds on denon to near eighty thousand. It allows the legal system to move faster and the reforms to proceed faster.SO the way I enjoy myself is the usual way.. by getting to indulge my position. No alcohol, no drug and no gambling scandals... just good old fashioned flirting"

Clover stared at her for exactly one beat after that explanation—Then laughed outright. “Oh, that is so much hotter than it should be. Especially from someone who thinks sentient beings should learn to get along without court judgments.”

She shook her head slowly, visibly amused and entirely charmed by the fact Ayumi could make judicial infrastructure sound seductive. “Eighty thousand courts,” Clover repeated. “You flirt by streamlining bureaucracy and increasing civic efficiency.”

Her grin widened. “I genuinely don’t think anyone has ever tried to impress me with legal throughput before.” She stepped a little closer as they moved through the restaurant space, eyes bright with interest. “And then you end with ‘good old fashioned flirting’ like that somehow makes you sound less dangerous.”

A soft hum escaped her. “No alcohol, no gambling, no scandals…” Clover tilted her head slightly, smile turning warmer, slower. “Just a beautiful senator indulging herself by shamelessly charming people.”

A beat. “I have to say, Ayumi…” Her gaze lingered deliberately. “I’m becoming very supportive of your hobbies. Especially if the flirting leads somewhere…”

"It always leads somewhere and yes I learned long ago scandal is looked for. Something people want to tear everyone down so I wear what I do as armor. Impress upon myself and the people how much I am open and I am. the few times it is only in private is when whomever I am with wants it. on Denon they respect that as they know I will on my own still show and tell them whatever they want." She said it with a smile on her face when the food was arriving. No need to order. "The chef here, it is better to let him pick what you eat... he has a gift." She said it as the brothy soups were packed with stewed veggies and flavor when AAyumi took a bite.

Clover's expression softened for a moment as she listened, her teasing giving way to something a touch more appreciative. “That's actually rather admirable,” she admitted. “Most people hide behind armor. You wear yours by being more visible.”

Her smile returned quickly afterward, warm and mischievous. “Though I suspect that only works because you're very, very good at being Ayumi.”

As the food arrived, Clover's attention shifted briefly to the bowls before her brows lifted in amusement. “Oh, this is the part where I confess something unusual.” She leaned slightly on the table, eyes sparkling. “I don't really need to eat.”

A small shrug followed. “Not in the way most people do, anyway. But I've learned to enjoy it. Tastes. Textures. The experience of it all.” Her gaze drifted to Ayumi taking a bite of the soup. Then lingered. A grin slowly spread across her face.

“Though, if I'm being honest, I think I'm going to enjoy watching you eat your vegetables almost as much as I'm going to enjoy the meal itself.” She picked up her spoon, finally sampling the soup.

A pleased hum escaped her. “Mm. Your chef does have a gift.” Her eyes flicked back to Ayumi immediately. “Though I'm still undecided whether the food is the most interesting thing at this table.”

"I am but I am also very very good at being practical... mostly. I look for the high tide and raising everything means going to a next level for different purposes. This resturant for instance was alwaays good. The chef skilled and when Denon important everything only the most wealthy were able to come here. Business was good but by reducing the cost of important food and now having our own. the profits for him and the staff arte up and they are able to open to the rest of the planet. Denon's products hold higher and higher value on the galactic market with COruscant the way it in and many of the other financial juggernauts no longer producing. So when they come at me for a scandal they find a line of women, me freely doing morning workouts in form fitted clothing and willing to answerr all questions while showing we have superior technologies to ninety percent of the galaxy. It makes humblebragging an artform."

Clover laughed into her spoon before setting it down again. “There it is.” She pointed lightly across the table. “The part where you explain economic reform, supply chains, public transparency, market expansion, and somehow make it sound like flirting.”

Her smile widened. “I continue to be alarmingly susceptible to this.” Taking another taste of the soup, she hummed appreciatively before looking back at Ayumi. “Though I do like that approach.” She tilted her head. “Someone comes looking for scandal and instead finds competent governance, technological innovation, and a senator who already answered all their questions.”

A beat. “That's either practical genius or weaponized confidence.” Her eyes sparkled. “Probably both.”

She leaned forward slightly, resting her chin in her hand. “And I have to admit, the image of a line of women waiting while you casually humblebrag about improving an entire planet is incredibly easy to believe.” The grin that followed was downright playful. “In fact, I think humblebragging might be your actual Force power.”

Her gaze lingered warmly on Ayumi. “Though I suppose if you've genuinely improved the lives of millions of people, it stops being bragging and starts being documentation.” A small pause. “Still...” Her smile turned a little more wicked. “I do enjoy that your version of being practical apparently includes looking stunning in form-fitted workout clothes and then acting surprised when people notice.”

SHe took the compliments, they were worth it and the woman got a lot of it as Ayumi was eating now. The foods being brought as she was served three strips of meat in sauce with golden rice. "Ah perfect." There was the soup she had and it matches while she poured a little over the rice and it gave her plenty for it. "Always good, a platter from the land, sea and air." She said it as something thick and brothy was brought out for Clover with much more to it and Ayumi looked. "That is very earthy... I imagine he packed it with enough for a neti to benefit." She said it with a smile though as drinks were being brought out, water for clover and for Ayumi there was water as well with enhancement shots to the side for extra flavors.

Clover blinked at the bowl set before her, then looked from it to Ayumi and back again. A surprised laugh escaped her. “Wait.” She leaned forward slightly, studying the meal with genuine curiosity. “He actually made something with a Neti in mind?”

Her brows lifted. “That is... unexpectedly thoughtful.” For a moment, the flirtation softened into something warmer. She looked back to Ayumi and gave a small appreciative hum. “Thank you.” The words were simple, sincere.

“Most people either forget or assume I can simply make do. It's rare to find someone who considers what another person might enjoy before they're asked.”

She sampled the broth, pausing as the flavors settled. Another pleased hum followed. “Oh, that is good.”

Her eyes drifted back to Ayumi, who seemed entirely content with her own meal. “And very dangerous,” Clover added with a smile. “You keep finding new ways to spoil me.”

She lifted her glass slightly in a small toast. “Though I hope this isn't becoming one-sided.” The smile that followed was unmistakably flirtatious again. “Because I hope I'll get the chance to spoil you a little in return.”

"That is why he gets paid the big credits." She said it with a grin while she was eating. "He has a gift even if some do not wish to think of it that way.. but being able to make the dishes is half the goal the other half is being able to make a lot of interesting choices." The talk about what it was and spoiling her was well it was a given. She wasn't going to say she didn't.. this was a habit and something she did to far more people. Though she could admit it was usually one sided so having someone who wanted to give as much as take was more then welcoming. "It is nice to hear and I could think of a few dozen things we could do together."

Clover smiled over the rim of her bowl before taking another sip. “Mm. Then he deserves every credit.” She glanced back down at the meal, visibly impressed. “Making good food is one thing. Knowing how to make someone want to try something new is a completely different talent.” Her eyes lifted back to Ayumi. “A talent I suspect you appreciate more than most.”

The mention of a few dozen things they could do together earned a soft laugh. “Only a few dozen?” Clover rested her chin lightly on one hand, looking entirely unconvinced. “That's disappointingly unambitious for someone who builds oceans between city levels.”

Her smile grew warmer, more playful. “Though I admit, I'm curious what makes the list.” A small pause. “Because I'd very much like the chance to learn what you enjoy as much as you've taken the time to learn about me.”

She took another bite before adding with a teasing tilt of her head, “And if your idea of a casual afternoon is already this enjoyable, I suspect the rest of the list gets increasingly dangerous.”

"It isn't always about quantity when romancing someone it is about the quality of the acts... and I strive to make sure every act is exceptionally high quality." She said it while eating what she had with a drink. It was enjoyable to her when she checked on more of it. Finishing but listening to clover with interest. "My afternoons need to be as interesting as my morning and carry into the evening. I like to try and have it be a full day of work so when the time comes for my day off I am able to simply be and enjoy myself. Though that day off can come at any time so never know."

Clover blinked once. Then twice. She slowly lowered her spoon and stared at Ayumi with an expression of exaggerated innocence. “...Romancing someone?”

A beat. “Is that what's happening here?” Her hand rose to her chest as if genuinely surprised by the revelation. “Goodness. And here I thought I was simply being escorted through beautiful gardens, fed custom meals by gifted chefs, taken to a penthouse restaurant with a spectacular view, and listened to by a charming woman who keeps talking about quality over quantity.”

Clover's lips twitched. She was losing the battle not to laugh. “Thank you for clearing that up for me.” Her eyes sparkled mischievously over the rim of her water glass. “I was beginning to suspect something.”

Taking a sip, she hummed thoughtfully. “Well, for what it's worth, your philosophy is a good one.” Her gaze settled warmly on Ayumi. “Anyone can fill a day. Making it memorable is harder.”

A smile slowly spread across her face. “Though now that you've admitted to romance, I feel I should warn you.” She leaned forward slightly. “You're setting expectations.” A brief pause. “Not impossible ones,” she added quickly, grin widening. “Just very high-quality ones.”

"I am all for high expectations and meeting them." She said it with a bigger grin on her face though when she was finishing some parts of it. With all fo the food though she would be able to have it as the waiter came by and retrieved the empty plate. "I'll have to step up my game in some places, it is something a little weird giving a plant woman flowers or impressing with something others fawn over." She was offering something fun with a nod though as she looked out across the city of Denon's distract before she was going to make this an awesome day for the two of them and Megera had been able to do a lot for her.

Clover laughed softly, turning her gaze from the view back to Ayumi. “Oh, stars, please don't start worrying about flowers.” She shook her head, smiling warmly. “Material things aren't really the way to my heart.”

Her fingers traced the rim of her glass thoughtfully. “I mean, they're nice. But flowers wilt, gifts get put on shelves, and most grand gestures end up collecting dust somewhere.”

Her eyes settled on Ayumi again, bright with amusement. “You've spent an entire day showing me things you care about. Introducing me to places I never would have found on my own. Feeding me something a chef specifically adjusted for me.”

A small shrug followed. “That's far more memorable than a bouquet.” Her smile softened. “Besides, I think you may be overthinking this.” A beat. “Which is adorable, by the way.”

Clover rested her chin lightly in her hand. “If you really want to impress me, keep doing exactly what you've been doing.” Her smile lingered as she watched Ayumi across the table. Not the view. Not the city. Just Ayumi.

“Though if you're determined to step up your game...” she continued softly. Clover tilted her head, eyes dropping briefly before returning to meet Ayumi's. The pause that followed seemed entirely intentional. “I confess I'm becoming very curious what a woman with your level of ambition considers an escalation.” The corner of her mouth curved upward. She made no move to look away.

Ahhh now that was sweet. Ayumi looked at her while dessert was being delivered to the table. Sweet cream platter with several scoops in a managable size wthout being too massive. All for taste testing. She smiled with a wider grin on her face though. "Well that is encouraging to me more then anything else and escalation is well a way to go proper.. can only go up as we have just started developing the skyline. The islands that will be able to districts and have advanced water processing and generation facilities with gravity chutes. So there can be curated waterfalls descending from the skies to make more beauty on the planet."

Clover looked from the dessert platter to Ayumi and then back again. “See, this is exactly what I mean.” She picked up one of the smaller scoops, studying it for a moment before tasting it. A pleased hum followed.

“I mention escalation, and you immediately start describing floating districts, waterfalls from the sky, and reshaping an entire world's horizon.” Her eyes lifted to meet Ayumi's, amusement dancing there. “Most people would have taken that conversation somewhere else.”

A small smile tugged at the corner of her mouth. “You took it to urban planning.” She somehow made that sound complimentary.

Resting her spoon against the dish, Clover leaned forward slightly. “And yet I can't decide if you're avoiding the subject... or proving my point.” Her gaze lingered on Ayumi for a heartbeat longer than necessary. “Because every time I think you're talking about Denon, I get the distinct impression you're talking about something else too.”

The smile that followed was warm, teasing, and entirely unconvinced. “Either way, I have to admit I'm curious.” She glanced briefly toward the skyline beyond the windows. “About the waterfalls.” Her eyes drifted back to Ayumi. “And about what you consider the next level.”

She was looking at her and raised her eyebrows. "Both, it is both. Urban planning and development, goes hand in hand with my seduction game. I get to invite from across the galaxy some of the most beautiful architects and planners. Each one of them highly skilled her her style and field. Then I get ti impress them with Denon. It is a perfect ecosystem of being able to attract the most beautiful, the most talented here and then can ensnare them to come and stay. I won't deny I used the same tactic to attract some lounge singers of exceptional beauty. The one came and stayed cause her girlfriend would get to design buildings so now Albedo shares the spotlight with two others at the Velvet."

Clover stared at Ayumi for a long, thoughtful moment. Then she laughed. A rich, delighted laugh that drew a shake of her head. “You are absolutely diabolical.”

She scooted her chair just a little closer, close enough that the distance between them all but disappeared beneath the table. As she settled, her hand came to rest lightly against Ayumi's thigh, an easy, familiar touch that lingered there without demand.

“You're telling me,” Clover continued, smiling with unabashed admiration, “that your grand strategy is to lure brilliant, beautiful people to Denon... then make the planet—and yourself—so impossible to leave that they simply decide to stay.”

Her thumb shifted ever so slightly before becoming still again. “And it's working.” She tilted her head, eyes never leaving Ayumi's. “Not just on architects, either.”

A soft laugh escaped her. “I should have realized much sooner that I wasn't just touring a city.” Her smile broadened into something warm and wonderfully amused. “I've been expertly courted by an urban planner.” She gave Ayumi's thigh the gentlest, playful pat before letting her hand rest there again.

“I have to admire the commitment.” Her eyes sparkled. “It's an exceptionally elegant trap.”

She just kept a grin on her face with that. "It is the best way, wait until I impress you with my island. If you thought the sisters was beautiful. I got some fo the finest to help design the gardens and well it was vitally important to have the more open design. Plenty of space and open air hallways but interconnecting ones below in case of weather. Or wanting privacy." Ayumi said it while she was sitting there and finished some of the desserts with a small grin plastered on her face. "I enjoy myself, I like women, if that means I must make myself one of the most appealing then well that is just what I will have to do."
