A Pleasantly Gray Afternoon

Gray set his glass down near him and turned to fully face Star. He moved his free hand over so both of them were covering her hand. He squeezed her hand as he said, " That is awful. I've seen what explosions can do, I've been the cause of them plenty, but to do it to civilians.... I can't imagine how bad that was. What happened next?"

She seemed to go off in thought even though she felt his hand"they died instantly...I don't remember what happened to me except flying...and waking up with...well my HUD "sge said looking at him

Gray squeezed her hand again and said, " You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to. I know how hard these kinds of things can be." He leaned over and kissed her on the cheek. He had gone through enough pain in his life to know how hard it could impact you years after it happened.

She smiled lightly "I know bit if I don't I get depressed about it so speaking ehlos me " she said as she felt his kiss on her cheek as she rubbed it and smiled"hehe

Gray smiled at her and said, " So Star, I had something I wanted to ask you. Would you mind me asking?" He wasn't sure why he had chosen now to think about this question or even why he waited until now to ask it. He should just wait for later. He knows all of this, but as usual he couldn't stop himself around her for these kinds of things.

She looked over at him "sure gray I don't mind you askng one bit"she said wondering what bus question was...course it didn't matter she'd answer

Gray just sat there smiling at her for some time after he got the okay. He was getting a little nervous now, and she might be able to tell from the way he was squeezing her hand or even the energy he gave off. He finally said after a bit with a slight blush on his face and an awkward grin, " So we have been spending time together lately and gotten to know each other a bit. So I was wondering if, maybe....if maybe you would want to....want to go out?" He had gotten it out and it only made him feel even more nervous. Why did he have to be this nervous? Sure he was taking a bit of a leap here asking her suddenly, especially since he hadn't planned it, but no matter the answer they would stay friends.....right?

She looked at him as she felt the sudden build up of energy coming from him...that and him squeezing her hand..and the awkward grin and blush"hahahahay oh ahha fray"she said and kissed him suddenly "I thought you'd never ask gray I was soon to ask but you beat me to it

Gray blushed a bit more as she kissed it. It wasn't as if she hadn't before but the emotional charge of the situation had him feeling more sensitive than usual to such things. He squeezed her hand again as he said, " Wait. You have been waiting for me ask you? For how long? And you were going to ask me yourself? When were you going to do that? I mean I'm really happy you want to, but... I think I need a drink." He moved one of his hands from her hand and felt for the glass of wine. He ended up knocking it over away from him and all the wine spilled out everywhere. He picked up the bottle of wine and began to take a long drink straight from it. He was more nervous than he realized and could hardly believe she had said yes.

She laughed and smiled as she got up watching him"gray I have been nervous to ask you because I didn't know what you would do"she said and took the bottle after a minute drinking"gray I can feel your nervous and you got all the reason "she said smiling"gray...I love you OK...you visited me while I recovered slept in my bed to keep me from being lonely and now this date" she said smiling"

Gray blushed a bit and said, " Well I'd say I've been pretty selfish honestly. I visited you to get to see your pretty face. I slept in your bed with you because all the loneliness I normally feel just vanishes when I'm with you. And I did this date because I wanted to spend time with you. And why are you nervous? You are an incredibly beautiful woman with so much going for her. Then there is me. And I love you too Star. I have for I don't even know how long. It just feels like I always have I guess....." He really needed that bottle of wine again, but he wasn't about to ask for it from her. He just smiled at her and squeezed her hand.

She smiled...his blush was honestly cute"hahah makes two of us...I invited you just so I could be with you and"she sighed and pushed him on his back as she kissed him"shhhhh feth the world and jut kiss me..."she said as all faded to black
