ADM. Reshmar

Directorate Officer Fleet Admiral SJC 3rd Fleet
Reshmar double checked the instruments for any late fluctuations and found none. The core was at one hundred and four percent and all capacitors had been charged. The regulator seemed to be working wonderfully. better than he would have ever expected. Now the true test would begin.

"Admiral starting countdown to firing sequence. Power is at peak, Safety released Firing in 10, 9, 8.."

Reshmar continued to monitor the readout up until he reached one on the countdown. At one he pressed the initialize command and then the fire command.

"Firing!"

And so here they were aboard the ship, facing a random moon in an unimpressive system light years away from the civilisation. Here to test the technological terror that had been constructed. Unless Sith suddenly quantum tunnelled in, the test ought to go smoothly. Ideally the weapon would also actually end up getting used in combat instead of being nerfed into mere background noise.

Somehow that often happened to fleets and armies these days. Presumably space magic was to blame. Or the Reapers...err, Celestials. Regardless, Siobhan was standing on the bridge, holding on to a cane though her features were impassive. A Firemane minion informed her that the regulator was working at optimal efficiency, better than expected actually. Then again, it had been designed and produced by everyone's favourite femnazi corporation.

The countdown for the firing sequence of the Nova Cannon was initiated, then it fired, emitting a brilliant flash of light that lit up space. Siobhan calmly sipped a cup of Atrisian green tea. She blamed [member="Mirien Valdier"] for getting her addicted to it.

The ability to destroy a…well, the cannon couldn’t destroy a planet…but the ability to scar a moon might be insignificant compared with the power of the Force, but not many Force users could do that! Thus, Stahlmann was quite proud of the technological terror he’d created.

“Firing!”

The green blast of energy shot from the ship, pierced the moon’s thin atmosphere and struck the barren surface. Instantly a bright flash far below, followed by a dust cloud, then the afterglow.

“Activate scanners,” the Admiral ordered.

The scene on the display was apocalyptic. A large crater had been blasted in the moon’s surface. Had it been a city the size of Voss-Ka it would have left no survivors.

“I believe we can consider this a success,” the Admiral said. Even he had been surprised by the power of the weapon. The devastation wrought had been incredible. In battle it might well tip the balance.
