A New Path

Everything was changing so quickly. Tenzen was just a mercenary doing simple jobs and making a living for himself, but it seemed as though everything was changing after accomplishing his last contract. One person had shown him a new path, one that he had never known before. He was a bodyguard who was protecting some cargo for a merchant, nothing very special and didn't take long to finish at all. What was so different however was the person he encountered after the job, someone who told him about the SJO and what they stood for. Tenzen had heard of the Jedi before but only from stories. He didn't know what they really stood for, or if they even existed, but this man was able to peak his interest.

Tenzen was told that he could find the SJO on Kashyyyk and that's how his journey to the planet began. He didn't know what to expect and had doubts about going to Kashyyyk to find out if these Jedi truly existed, but he couldn't shake the feeling that something was there for him. It felt as if he was being guided there by something. When he had arrived on the planet and found the Jedi, he had somehow found himself joining their ranks. This was not what he expected at all but here he was among them. He was approached by [member="Noriko Ike"] , who offered to train him in the way of the Jedi. Tenzen accepted and found himself boarding her Freighter the next day to start his training. Everything was changing quickly, but he decided to stay on this path for now.

Tenzen was invited inside the ship and was ready for the training to begin. He didn't know what to expect since he didn't know much about the SJO, but he wasn't backing down. These people had accepted him and offered to teach him their ways, so he was going to stick with this to the end. What he learned about the SJO while being here was that they didn't take advantage of the weak, and that was good enough for him.

Noriko spent most of her time on the ship, checking her piercing for a moment as she saw it and stood there with a look. THe skylar outfit was soemthing nice to wear and she could do much in terms of training. It help with managing her weight by making her sweat but also not smell before she got the alert. The ramp lowering for the padawan.. a fresh faced padawan that had come to the silver jedi. Her head turning as she grabbed some pants and rolled around getting them on while she jumped up to pull herself into the compression pants. The skylar wasn't tight but it was made to be form fitted so she could have the temperature regulation.

"Welcome." She shouted it more through the ship while she was moving and her short hair was a little messy. Her armor and even the silver robes were in her quarters of the ship. She was just wearing the clothing before she came into view and didn't bother with boots for now, her saber staff on her hip strap. The top she was wearing made for working out with a gap down the back for sweat to not collect and in the front it was leaving her mid riff exposed. The sides of her waist connecting to her shoulders and then staying still with short sleeves when she finally offered a smile standing there looking at the padawan.

"Hey you." She stayed at the ready though but was looking at him and he seemed ready for this, ready for anything that might come from their lessons here. She had worked with Sorel, Corvus and Kana as well as a few others. So she had a good idea of what and how to best teach a few others, her fingers drumming on her stomach before she was walking around to look up at him. A full head taller then her as she raised her eyes to the padawan then looked down. "Alright, make sure you don't have anything loose on yourself. We don't want to snag and tear your clothing in here, also weapons... either set to a training setting or use the ones I have in the training room please."

While going down the lift, he heard the owner of the ship welcome him. When he stepped off the lift, saw Noriko standing in front of him, offering a smile and saying hello to him. He returned her smile and gave a small wave to her.

"Hello."

Tenzen wasn't the most talkative person, usually staying quite unless he was spoken too. She fingers were drumming on her stomach as she looked at him, which Tenzen assumed that it meant she was thinking. It wasn't until she moved and looked up at the young man that he noticed she was a bit smaller than him and seemed like she was a bit fragile, but Tenzen knew that appearances show nothing of a persons skill. Noriko began speaking when she looked down. Tenzen was wearing a black shirt, pants, boots, and a grey jacket which he took off since it was the only thing that could really get caught while training. His hair was tied up already, so he didn't have to worry about that either.

When she said to set his weapon to a training setting, he was a bit confused. He realized she meant a lightsaber if he had one, which was something he didn't have yet. he quickly went to grab a training saber so they could begin. He was glad that there were training weapons here, for he wouldn't have been prepared if they weren't. He faced Noriko and nodded.

"Alright, ready."

Tenzen had used a variety of weapons before, but never used a lightsaber before. He was sure that it wasn't too much different from a regular sword however, and would adapt to using it quickly one way or another. That's what he expected anyway.

She looked at him and had a sly grin, the barest traces of it was there before the jedi moved back and offered a hand to lead him through the ship. COmpared to many of the other dynamic class ships.. this one was larger. Had a couple levels, including what was a lower area that served for a machine and repair shop to get he equipment. As well as acces to the main weapons. Energy bombs to go with its lasers and cannons. Something for handling larger ships after all. A tomie was stored in the hanger as well with the lift he had come in while there was the ramp in front of it that you could take to the second level of the ship.

THe rooms she showed were for her off to the one side and then a few more built to house padawans with the new modular bedding, something nice and comfortable to protect others. THe higher levels, the third were an observation area with transparasteel plating that allowed you to look out if you wanted to and created a sort of common area. With kitchen and area for relaxing. THe entry way down into the training room that opened up made a loop around them where she could go standing there when she explained all of it. She had dated Kei but he just vanished and left her alone and she had been glad to help design this based off of the Ebon Hawk.

"So that is the ship, there are secret compartments and storage ready for anything but you can search for those if you want later on." She said it with a smile on her face that was wider now before she stood in the center of the room. Stretching out her arms and bouncing on her fet with a small laugh. "Hmm now lets see what we can do here." She checked out the training saber that he had taken as she adjusted her saber staff then stopped planting her feet on the floor. Spreading them out and holding herself tighter in, she presented a smaller target and spoke. "Now the most important thing is your stance, with the saber you want to be calm and able to stand without being knocked over."

Tenzen saw the grin on her face before she started to give him the tour of the ship. He didn't expect to get a tour of the ship. He had to admit that it was a nice ship, especially with all the rooms and different levels. He listened as she explained everything, intrigued about everything the ship had to offer. He would definitely take a look around the ship again later.

"This is a pretty nice ship you have here."

He looked at her as he said this and saw her smile was a lot bigger than before. when she started bouncing on her feet and laughing Tenzen couldn't help but feel nervous. He saw her the saber staff she had and get into a fighting stance and explained how important a persons stance is. This is something he knew, but the basics are important. He planted his feet, his left foot in the front and right in the back, bending his knees slightly. He had both of his hands on the training saber, but didn't activate it until he was told to.

"Is this good enough?"

She was looking at him and his stance looked good for a start but that was easy to do. It was how one reacted to everything when she was looking over at some parts of it. She remained there a nd focused on the force to push at him and then pull to try and jerk him from place or test where the stance might falter. "It looks good, make sure the blade is held away fropm your body and get a feel for it, the weight, the vibration and energy." She was looking at it, looking at him though before she shifted her hands along the hilt of her saber and thumbed over the trap stud of the hilt. Biometrics were nice so only she could deactivate the jolt from it but there was the force activation when she reached out to her blade turning it on. The icy blue blade springing to life.

Tenzen was waiting for the next step when he felt a small push and pull on his body. This made him stiffen up and almost turn on the training lightsaber. He didn't know what was going on, which made him more alert and cautious. His face showed confusion and irritation. Before he could ask [member="Noriko Ike"] what was going on, she started to speak. He assumed that she was the one doing that, but now he had one question: How?

Tenzen listened to what Noriko had to say. When she activated her lightsaber, he was amazed at how it looked. This was his first time seeing one after all. This thought was pushed away however, and Tenzen activated his own lightsaber. The training saber he grabbed was a single blade, and the color of the saber was also blue. He did what Noriko suggested before hand, getting a feel for the blade. Tenzen moved the blade around, analyzing the weight of it and how it felt. He had used swords before, but this was a bit different from that. The weight of the blade was light, the vibration was something he didn't expect at first but was something he quickly got used to it.

"This is unlike any weapon I have used before."

[member="Tenzen Xero"]

"Yes it is, a dangerous weapon that needs to be respected. A powerful tool that should be cared for." She said it and moved around him with a look on her face. She walked around the room. "Your saber is omni-directional, able to attack from any angle, this means you will be in just as much danger with it as your opponent. This also means that you have more options and need to be careful as you can strike someone with the wide or dull end to knock them out. Unless you have adjusted it to be like this, training level it will always cut and slice through almost anything." She said it when she moved behind him to make sure his back was straight, the saber she moved to near his stomach and piointed it out. "Both hands gripping the hilt of the saber, feet apart and held out from your body for now. You want to keep your finger over the activation stud of your saber so that it will remain on."

Tenzen took in everything she said about the saber, understanding that it could kill him or the people around him in a moments notice. He would definitly have to be careful with it, but that's what this training is for. To learn how to use a lightsaber properly.

"A powerful but dangerous weapon indeed."

He listened to what Noriko had to say and adjusted as needed, putting both of his hands on the saber, held it away from his body, and kept his finger over the stud that activated it. He stayed in the stance until told otherwise.

She watched him and was working to guide his focus, to have the stance perfect before moving on to the movement. She needed to see some parts of it, where they were looking, where he was going to be able to really work on it. "Alright, now with the blade there are diferent points. From where the blade it you have key areas to rotate, eight contact points that you would be able to reach when a saber is coming at you. From there you move your hands and the blade rotating it so you are staying within the zone. From there you rotate your body to make a ring of your own protection. THis will be your sphere of responsibility, it gets larger as you learn more and more with better focus."

Trying to retain the information that he was told, Tenzen thought about how he would put this all in motion. A combination of moving your hands, saber, and body to keep yourself moving and protected.

"I'm assuming that it's best to keep yourself moving in a lightsaber battle? Using not just your hands and blade, but also your whole body to follow up with everything."

Of course, this wasn't all new. One would have to keep themselves moving and use their body to defend and attack efficiently. With a lightsaber, it seemed to be more important that this was practiced.

She waggled her hand for him. "It can vary, some stances, some techniques are best done standing still. It just depends on what you are using. I use a staff for instance, I am better able to move and cover myself if I am standing still but I won't progress much. You want to be able to move and pause on your own without someone or something dictating it for you." Noriko held her saber though and well hers was a lot different then his so she could keep it activated without her hand being on the stud. Just spinning it until she was moving and getting into place she jumped and twisted her body to create a kata with her staf. "THough my movement will be very different from yours it is the same. We just need to find how you move with a blade then that can determine what kind of forms to teach."

Noriko's response was a satisfying one. It gave Tenzen more information on the matter, and made him wonder what other type's of techniques and saber's there were. He thought about how he moves with a blade himself after he was told that it would determine what forms he would be taught, and couldn't really come up with anything in his head. Tenzen fought to survive, so he would usually adapt to the situation he was in. He just went of his instincts.

"So I'm guessing we'll figure out how I move with a blade by sparring, huh?"

From all the information he was told and the way Noriko carries herself, Tenzen knew that she would have the advantage if they did spar each other. The point wasn't for him to win though, right? This is to determine how he will be trained.

"Well that can help." She said it while looking at him with a nod of her head and moved away a little to make some distance. "Though this training room is a little small for some things, it is great for the practice drones." She said it and let some of the specialized training droids come out, looking like heavier protocol droids with armor plating and lightsabers they were essentially that it just also happened that they were trained to fight and defend the ship. "I'll work winth you to water you and try to cover where you might be making mistakes. Just be careful not to knock me around as well as th droids. You are kind of a big guy and I am really small."

Hearing that he would be training with drones took him aback. He had spent most of his training fighting with others and gaining experience from that, so this would definitely be different. He has fought droids before, but only a few times while he was a mercenary. Hearing that Norik say that she'll cover his mistakes made him a bit nervous. Tenzen usually did things on his own, that way he could do things his way. This was different though, so he pushed it aside.

"Don't worry, I'll make sure not to run you or anything else over."

She looked at him with a grin as her hands came out and clapped once. "Alright then come in." She was looking at the droids as a small handful of PTD droids walked in with more agile droids and finally one of the war droids. They weren't normal drones for training, these were made for the jedi to be able to use and realy test out their skills. loaded with safety rounds though for practice and Noriko had her saber ready until she was going back to back with her padawan. Where she might be able to better improve upon it, eyes shifting back and forth while the commando droids moved around a lot faster then the training droids.

Tenzen watched as the droids moved around. the commando droids were faster than what he would have expected them to be, but that didn't discourage him. He watched to understand the movements of each droid and analyzing their strengths and weaknesses. The Commando droids were the ones that Tenzen was most worried about because of their speed, so he wanted to focus on defending and taking down those ones first.

With Noriko behind him, Tenzen had to be careful of is movements. Keeping this in mind,he decided to stay more on the defensive side, but ready to move in and attack when the chance arises.

She gave a nod of her head to that, they were ready to move, the commando droids were moving around them, the larger more bulkier personal attendant droids were spaced out to really move. The war droid was off to the side and set up where they might be able to fight it but it wasn't really for smashing into them. She moved with her saber staff and matched his movements, allowing the force to guide her but her senses were also on her padawan behind her. "You ready?" She was curious but made herself get a little smaller as her muscles tensed and her form compacted as she lunged forward and kicked of her back foot to bring the saber around and catch two fo the training droids blades while she was kicking off a third droids chest to get higher up into the room.

When Noriko asked him if he was ready, he answered immediately with his actions. Tenzen dashed towards one of the training droids, meeting his blade with the opponents. He wouldn't let it end their though. He pushed the droid off of him quickly as another came at him, in which he blocked the impending attack.

Tenzen's way of fighting may seem reckless at some moments, but he fighting was where he felt most home at. He wasn't going to let some droids get the better of him

She was paying attention to him, sticking with it when she came down and spun on her heel with the saber staff to push back and clear the area around her. She knew the commando style droids could get in fast while distracted by the training droids. She was wanting to pay attention to his style though and his movements were closer to Shii-cho so far, he wasn't aggressive enough for Juyo and he wasn't acrobatic for now like Ateru... defensive techniques like makashi or soresu were something that she couldn't see him doing for right now. Her stance went back to being neutral until she kicked out with the force though seeing all of the droids before she blocked a blade adjusting herself more to be steady and raising an eyebrow when she pushed the force more into her smaller body to strengthen it.
