A Mother and Daughter Reunited

Two chairs sat at the end of a long hall, the marble flooring shinning from the moonlight that peeked in through the windows. A small fire roaring away in the fireplace, her golden hues watching the flames as she leaned back. She had decided that a more relaxed dress would be needed, thus her armor sat upon a stand in the corner. Her skin tight gown shown off her figure as a hand grasped a glass of wine from the table at her side.

Bringing the glass to her lips, her fangs grazed against the rim as she drank the liquid before hearing a soft knock at the far end of the hall. Setting the glass down, she called back, her hand motioning from where she sat.

"Come."

She said, not even looking as she listened to the footsteps pressing against the marble. Once the individual was close, she looked over her shoulder. The armored figure offering a bow before standing up. His hands pulling the helm from his brow and tucking it under his arm.

"She's here ma'am. We've found her."

"Bring her in...."

She spoke before looking back to the fire, her hand shooting up before the individual left.

"No... Send her in. Alone."

"Ma'am?"

"You have your order."

"Yes ma'am."

The individual spoke before slipping away, the door closing behind him and soft whispering could be heard. A moment later the doors opened to reveal the younger woman. Amelia smirked as she took a sip of her wine before setting the glass down as she stood. Turning to face the doors, her hands smoothing out the tight gown as her golden hues fell upon the young woman.

Amelia brought a hand up, resting it on the high back of the seat she had been sitting in. A soft smile crossing her lips as she beckoned the woman in with the other hand.

She can see the silhouette of who has been searching for centuries. Taking a look at the room before turning back to the woman who was waiting for her, she takes a deep breath and puts her hair behind her ear smiling slighty. A typical and sweet gesture when she feel comfortable and confident. Even without knowing her mother she knows that being in that room is a good feeling especially when the guard stays outside closing the door behind her.

"To be such an old woman has been really hard to find you. At least I can see that things do not go bad at all."

She frowns feeling a little disappointed remembering for a moment all the centuries of searching. For the first time in a long time she feels a certain emotional fragility.

"Come, sit."

Amelia spoke, attempting to keep her calm composure in the face of such an occasion. Her golden hues falling upon the young woman once more, her daughter that had been searching for her. Slowly turning back to the two chairs before the fire, she slipped down into one. She would take this moment to close her eyes, calming her mind and collecting her thoughts before they slipped open once more.

"I'm sure you have questions."

She said, her hand slipping around the glass of wine she had been nursing, taking another sip. Setting it back in place, it was soon joined by an empty glass, the woman carefully pouring out the appropriate amount while also topping off her own. There she sat quietly, waiting to hear the soft steps of her daughter approaching.

Natalia sits on the chair that her mother offers, with a casual attitude. She is relieved to have finished what has been her obsession for so long. However, a part of her feels anger towards a mother who left her. Resting in the backrest as she tries to control the tone of her question in a tense gesture.

"I honestly have been waiting a long time to have you in front to ask many questions but right now I only have one."

Natalia turns her gaze to the fire for a few seconds before returning to her mother's yellow eyes.

"Why?"

Natalia's tense expression breaks after such a simple and complicated question. Analyzing each expression of the face of her mother in her future answer.

Slender fingers slipped around the stem of the wine glass as she plucked it from its place upon the table. Lifting it to her lips, her fangs grazed against the rim for a moment before she took a sip. It was a harmless enough question, though it was one that was a long time coming. Carefully putting the glass of wine back down on the table, she leaned back in the seat slightly, keeping her eyes focused upon the fire.

"That is the most difficult question of them all."

Amelia said before her golden hues fell upon her daughter once more. Leaning towards the arm rest to bring herself closer to the woman, Amelia took her own moment to look over Natalia's features. Then her yellow eyes locked with her daughter's.

"To protect you. Though that is likely not what you want to hear."
