A More Conventional Weapon For A More Conventional Mercenary [Dusaro/Crystal Caves]

[member="Dusaro Dresari"]

Voss did not hold any crystal caves to speak of - to bring ones Padawans to in order to have them construct their first lightsaber. It was a shame really, but Josh knew that he was going to have to bring his Padawan to the planet of Tython. If it was at present being occupied by a faction or even another Jedi Order? To be quite honest, he didn't give a damn. If it was occupied by a Jedi Order and they tried to stop them, then they were just being anything but Jedi if they were seriously trying to stop Padawans from constructing their lightsabers, and they would be dealt with as such.

Either way, Josh's Padawan, Dusaro Dresari had done his part in proving just why he deserved to hold a weapon of this importance. A lightsaber was part of a Jedi's identity to most... And it was part of the Jedi, it really was. It would be a weapon they would likely spend most of their lives wielding. And after all this time using training sabers and being trained how to use them, and even having a mission or two under their belt, Josh felt that the Padawan finally deserved to come to the caves and construct their first lightsaber.

And so, Josh walked into the crystal caves on Tython, with Dresari behind him. He would look around first, then look toward his Padawan.

"This is where you shall take the lead" He would instruct. "If you face down a beast, you will make your own way around it... I will only lend aid if it becomes necessary. This is your own trial to face, navigating these caves... This as much a test as it is a reward. Be ready for it. And good luck."

Dusaro had been looking forward to this. Making his own lightsaber. It was an exciting prospect. If he was being honest learning to utilize the force in the many ways it could be used was more intresting, but a lightsaber was just unique. Not in the fact that it was a weapon that produced a blade of plasma. But that it was something special for the user. Everyone had their own personal trial to aquire it. Everyone made it in their own personal way to the components, style, looks, materials. When he had heard he would soon be going on the trip to the crystal caves, Dusaro had dissapeared for two days into his ship and home the 'New Avalon', saying only that he had to work on something in preperation. He never said what it was, even if prodded he would just say that it was something for the trip.

Dusaro looked around at the entrance of the caves, nodding slightly as he listend to Joshua. He had brought rather light equipment compared to the norm for the Mercenary. There was the ever present shattergun and equipment belt but that was it. Beyond that he had a small sack slung at his back, though what was inside was a mystery.

"If i face down a beast huh? Well, i don't plan to go picking any fights. I will be careful though." Dusaro said with a short nod and a wave, before stepping forward with a firm step as he headed on into the caves depths. He did not intend to be aggressive, not in here. Dusaro was here to get a crystal, then leave, with minimal messing around and that was his intention.

Dusaro Dresari.

It had been more than two years - maybe three - since he had met this guy on some barren planet where slavers frequented. He was a lowly mercenary then... Just doing odd jobs at random here and there to get by. He had no path, no goal... Just trying to make money and survive. But he was a Force Sensitive... And he had potential. But no purpose... He had been a great help to Josh in saving those slaves, so in return... He had pledged to train him...

And help him find that purpose.

Dusaro seemed to be well-equipped, he noted as the two walked through the crystal caves. Once Josh had given his explanation though, he slowed his step, and gave his Padawan a light nod, to indicate it was now time for him to take the lead. He would allow for Dusaro to explore the caves... Josh would journey with him, but a few paces behind. This was his path... His journey. His test. If he was to find a crystal... He should find it of his own merits... And choose on his own.

This was Dusaro's path to walk...

[member="Dusaro Dresari"]

And walk it he did, at a brisk pace as was his perogative. He didn't plan on waiting for Joshua, no Dusaro planned on going right on into the cave for his trial alone. The cave seemed to slope down a impressive amount as Dusaro got further in, expanding outwards in a almost maze like kind of area. There was a bit of light filtering in from behind him and in the general area from a few cracks but the further he went down, the darker it got. While there were plenty of other possible paths, there was also the clear and obvious 'beaten path' that one would typically follow. The beaten path lead on for quite a while into the very samey looking cave, one turn looking much like the next. Just in case he had started to count his turns right at the start, keeping a careful track mentally. After the Fiftyth turn though he stopped counting, it was clearly not going to be looping back on itself any time soon.

Eventually the cave system closed down to tighter corridors and he was lead into a small, more or less circular room that required him to turn on a flash light. Inside the room was five paths. There was no paticular out of place look to any of them, they were basically all the same. What was odd though was that in comparison to the path before which had seemed well trodded, they all looked as though they had not been touched in years. "Five choices, no hints is it?" Dusaro said to no one in paticular, closing his eyes for a moment and listening, feeling, sensing. His breathing didn't break pace and his body remained in its relaxed state as it always was before he shortly nodded to himself. Left, that was the feeling he got and so he went left. Put simply, left felt the most natural to him, while the others felt not quite right. The path was not an easy one though as it turned out, it was filled with loose rocks and it sloped up, making progress difficult in the dark if he wasn't careful. Slipping up was certainly a possibility. Dusaro could only smirk a bit at the thought of slipping and smacking his face into gravel while getting his crystal. What a embarssing twist that would be. Thankfully it did not happen, but the journy certainly wore on him a bit. It was more then a bit rough, getting steep enough to where he was basically climbing for a good distance, the climb wearing just a bit at his endurance.

Inside this next area, one could hear the stillness of water. Silence besides a few drops far off in the distance. There was a underground lake, with something inside it. Dusaro's senses, tuned and 'animalistic' as they were could tell there was something nasty in those waters. The bridge across was around a hundred and fifty feet long, small and narrow strip of slippery rock that was right over the deep, black pit of water. That was when Dusaro noticed something, a sense, feeling, in the back of his head. Whatever was in the water was drawn to light. THe light of his flash light, hitting the surface had gotten the critters attention as it slowly started to stir, the water just barely rippling. Quietly swearing, Dusaro quickly turned off the light, only to be plunged into black. He nicitated his eyelids, starting to see in the ultraviolet spectrum. But there was little in here that showed up in it, it wasn't exactly a form of night vision but it allowed him to vaguely see the bridge. Carefully putting a foot forward, he started to slowly rock across. It was a bit preturbing to -hear- the creature. His senses were sharper then the average humanoid. He could practically feel the water ripple as it slowly moved, barely disturbing anything, seeking, hunting, preying. 'Careful or i am gonna make a fillet out of you, you over grown gold fish.' He thought with a vindictive tone in his mind. It was about then the narrow bridge threatend to break on him, Dusaro hearing a shuddering creak of shifting rock and he froze. 'And it was going so well.' He could feel it through his feet, shifting, ready to fall. If he didn't move perfectly it would. He started to step forward, trusting his instincts before stopping his foot. No, not there. He was too excited. Not relaxed. There was a crack there, a hair line fracture. Put a food down there and tumble into the fishy he goes. While he could deal with that situation he really, really did not want to. So against 'common sense' he closed his eyes, feeling the force and boldly stepping forward. The bridge trembled but it did not fall and he continued. Step after step, getting three fourths across before it started to shake and fall. Planting his foot hard on a part of the bride that went down onto a rock for support, Dusaro launched himself forward and brought himself onto solid ground with a hard thump, rolling safetly onto the ground as the bridge collapsed and a very giant fish started flailing around. He paused only long enough to flip off the giant nasty before swiftly going through the passageway entrance.

Next, Dusaro had a reasonably short, relaxing trip. The much more flat and nice cave path did not last long but he certainly enjoyed it while it lasted, eventually going inside a room with a diadem in the middle. There were even a few crysals which glowed a lightly eerie light, purple in hue though they were not the force crystals he was seeking. Slowly stepping into the middle of the room up to the small structure, Dusaro saw someone. Across the room walking through the rocky natural pillars, a black garbed figure that reminded him of a day he would much rather not remember.

[member="Josh DragonsFlame"]

Seeing as Dusaro seemed to wish to take this completely alone without his assistance, as the Jedi Master walked a ways behind him, he slowly began to disappear. The White Current would allow him to travel undetected, unseen and un-sensed. Of course... He would remain a ways behind his Padawan at all times to ensure he did not get into anything over his head. But at the moment, the Jedi Padawan, who had experience prior as a mercenary, seemed to have this for the time being.

But he could hear growling in the distance... A beast, of some kind perhaps?

He would leave it to Dusaro to find out.

[member="Dusaro Dresari"]

Dusaro at first thought the figure was simply shadow's playing tricks on him as he headed to the center of the room. But something seemed off here, something that was making a slight snarl form on his lips and his ears twitch. Moving forward at a quicker pace, he went up a few short steps. In the center of the small structure was three force crystal formations. Fairly normal color's of green, blue and yellow. Dusaro looked to them for a moment but then caught the movement amidst the pillars once again. This time, he got a firm veiw of it for just a moment. A single hilt at the figure's side. Dusaro dropped low, his hand flicking back to his pistol and withdrawing it with a trained man's percision, taking aime at the figure as he watched its cloak flutter past a rock formation. He waited five seconds before darting forward, slapping on a infared-vision mask on that he alway's kept handy, quieting his foot falls as he went to follow the figure, completly forgetting or ignoring the crystals.

Then he caught it again. The back of the being as he took cover behind a stalagtite, peering around the corner carefully as it disappeared into a side passage that he had not seen before. He kept the pistol in his right hand, resting his left on a simple vibro-knife that he used as an all purpose tool more then anything, getting out of cover and moving forward into the passageway, carefully examining it. It seemed to turn left, but the grade of it was very nice. In fact, one could say that it was a beautiful walk. The stone was smooth here and not paticularly slanted, while still clearly being rather natural. After checking both corners he started down the path, making sure he had the most vision possible as he went forward. In the tunnel he did not catch a single other hint of the figure but neither did he find any other places where the path split off, so he had to be down the path somewhere.

After a short while the path exited into another area. The place was riddled with naturally formed cave column's streching from the ceiling to the ground, large one's too. They blocked a good deal of vision in the large room besides the large middle area which was cleared out. Carefully checking his sectors Dusaro creeped forward, drawing out the vibro-knife as he headed to the center of the room. The moment his foot stepped into the centeral area, the entrance behind him gave a loud 'boom' and Dusaro looked back to see it having sealed it self shut. "A Jedi comes to face me without even his Lightsaber, does he..."

Dusaro turned back to hear a lightsaber being activated. A red blade, with a man Sith standing on the oppisite side of the room. He knew that man Sith well. All at once his blood boiled and his conciousness narrowed to a sharp edge. There was no hesitation for a single second, only a simple intent to kill.

such a thing should not be allowed to live

There was a strong flow of emotions through Dusaro as he remembers the last time he saw the man Sith many years ago. It even suprised him to a degree that his feelings for the enemy Sith had not faded in the least. The vibro-dagger slashed forward, catching the man's Sith's blade as he started to fire the shattergun into the man's Siths side. But the shots missed as the enemy Sith turned, lanching a fast assault with his blade that kept Dusaro on the defensive as he lost the initative. Dusaro did a risky dodge as he backed up, firing two shots that foced the enemy Sith to dodge, only to reach out his hand. Dusaro flug the vibro-knife at the enemy Sith, lightning coming out and catching the weapon causing it to explode with quite the intensity. Dusaro was not phased as he caught his footing and bull rushed the enemy Sith, shoulder checking him and firing a round into his opponents Sith knee.

such a thing SITH should not be allowed to live

He jerked his hand up, forcing his left arm into the enemies Siths diaprham. That might have been enough to mess up a normal person, but for a Sith it only made him angry, the man Sith letting out a force scream that knocked Dusaro back several steps, his ears ringing feircly. Thankfully the blow did have an effect as the enemy Sith stumbled for several steps, Dusaro's pistol coming up to fire off. But his opponent Sith showed agility, rushing forward and cutting down the weapon. Dusaro was now fully disarmed. The enemy Sith must die. He saw the next attack coming, a slash at his neck to take his head. Dusaro ducked, unleashing a kick into the damaged knee and forcing the enemy Sith off balance. It worked, the enemy Sith stumbling back, but he was not by any means down and out. As he rushed forward, Dusaro was hit by it. Force Lightning. He was blasted back by the sudden force, getting sent into the the shadowy area of the pillars with a harsh thud, rolling weakly out of the way. There was only the mildest grunt of pain, even as his body spasmed from the effects, forcing himself to his feet. kill all enemies SITH

Dusaro realized something, in the back of his subconcious. He could not win like this. It he had stayed as he was before as a Mercenary, he would have. But that is not who was here today. There was a time and a place for that. It could still be used, as the damage he delivered showed. But to drag himself from this fight, he would need to go deeper. Dusaro fished out the training lightsaber he had kept out, flicking its blade on. He looked down at his right hand, flexing the repulse hand. It was still good. Then he could still win. As much of a mockery as it would be, he would win with Saber in hand against the enemy Sith. Saber in left hand he left the shadows of the column's, holding his blade at the ready in a stanced that was something between Shii-Cho and a Echani blade stance. He had a plan and he would execute it, going in to engagement range with the enemy Sith. A highblow came first. Dusaro's blade met it, sliding it off to the side and stepping back as another followed, aimed at his left side. This time, Dusaro stepped in with extreme force. Both hands on the simple training saber, he blew the attack back with great force, using his bodies high natural strength to great effect. His blade followed the opponent Sith, keeping up the pressure on it as his right hand went forward, grasping the man's Sith's neck. And then the repulse hand activated, killing the enemy Sith in seconds. There was no body, it simply fell apart and became as smoke, dissapearing.

Dusaro stood there, for a long time, his mind slowly switching back gears. The full meaning of that fight was something that he understood. Not in how deeply it reflected his personality, for better and for worse. He did understand that it showed that he still had a long ways to go in his transition from Merc to Jedi. He would always carry his past with him and utlize it. But if he tried to just use that and forsake everything he had learned since... "Might end up dead." Dusaro said in a scoffing tone, many minutes after the shadowing being had dissapeared. There was more to it though. It was not just about what he had learned. But how he should be as a person. But he was not at a point where he could acknolwedge that, face it. In a way he both succeeded, and failed this trial. And on a level he knew that.

Josh had used the current to hide himself from vision and sense, to give Dusaro the impression that he truly was on his own in this state. But he would follow along nonetheless. He would stay just a ways behind him in case things got far too dicey for Dusaro. Here was here to be tested and to train and to learn... No to be killed. Josh was not the cruel type, and would intervene when it was clear that Dusaro was in trouble.

Dusaro would suddenly begin to chase something that Josh could not see. Quirking a brow, the Jedi Master would give chase while still keeping a safe distance for the time being. When Dusaro would begin fighting the figure, he would begin to try and focus his senses. His intent was not to intervene in this battle with whatever Dusaro was seeing, but to understand. He wanted to understand his Padawans, more than they knew... He wanted to get to know them, more about them, know what made them tick and how he could be a good friend as well as a teacher.

But here he was able to focus enough to see the illusion that he was fighting. A man he clearly discerned as a Sith. He wasn’t sure why a Sith would be appearing from illusions that came from his mind, but the way he fought so aggressively against it, even if he appeared to be outmatched, told that there was far more to the story when it came to Dusaro.

After some struggle, Dusaro managed to kill the illusion, which would disappear in a cloud of smoke. In the aftermath, Josh finally felt it time to approach Dusaro, walking up to him as he dropped his invisibility.

“Seems you have some ghosts of your own” He would remark, before motioning toward a cluster of force crystals in the area nearby. “Your reward awaits you there... Find the one that suits you best. You’ll know, deep down which one it is...”

He didn’t want to discuss his behaviour, or his backstory, until later. For now, he wanted him to be happy and be able to fully appreciate what he was about to do, and what he was about to receive. It was a big deal to a Jedi, after all...

Dusaro heard the footsteps just a moment before he hear Joshua's voice. The comment about having ghosts of his own made a wry smile play across his face. "Ghosts of my own is it?" He said with a rueful tone and grin that was just a bit too wide. His body language was not normal, even after and during a fight he was relaxed but now he was tensed. Up tight and 'strung up', like a bow that had its arrow knocked and was pulled back to full draw, ready to spring into action. As Josua spoke of the crystals, he nodded, closing his eyes and turning off the training lightsaber, forcing himself to calm down. It was debatable how much that worked, but his shoulders did seem to relax somewhat.

Putting on his best winning grin, he walked over to the back of the room where the crystals were. There were several crystals of varying color, various shades of blue, yellow and green. Dusaro steadied himself for a moment, closing his eyes as he thought and reflected. Which was he drawn to? What called him? Dusaro was many things but he was not one to spend long on deliberations. He opened his eyes after a moment, taking in all of them before reaching his hand forth. A pale golden crystal came forth. It was not paticularly special, there was no amazing quality to it besides being a force crystal that could be used in a lightsaber blade. But it called to him, more then any other. Dusaro couldn't put his finger on why but that didn't matter. It felt right, so he chose it. But that simplicity did not mean he lacked the understanding of the choice and moment. He looked at the crystal, long and hard. Imagning it. The training with the force he had gone through, even though he was still sub part at using it, the missions. All of it lead up to this. His fist clenched tightly around the crystal for a moment, letting out a long, slow breath as he relaxed his grip.

"I have always been a fan of gold you know." Dusaro said with a bit of a bemused look, showing the crystal. He wasn't really sure why he was showing it off, it just felt... Proper he supposed? Something like that. "It was a bit of a journey wasn't it?" But he knew he still had plenty further to go. Generally speaking while his past training meant he might get an edge against other Padawans, he was still sorely lacking in the force department, as his near complete lack of force use in the trial showed. Even in the fight itself, it wasn't a lack of thinking about using it. It was more he didn't trust himself to be able to effectively use it to that level yet. In a way, perhaps he still had not yet come to 'trust the force' yet. It was something that took many years, so perhaps that was not much of a suprise after all.

"I mean it could be worse... There could be literal ghosts in the cave. WoooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooo" He would respond, a grin slowly spreading across the Jedi Master's face as he would disappear from Dusaro's view with the White Current.

"WOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooOOOOOOOO~"

He would re-appear soon after, clearly seeing Dusaro's distress and trying to alleviate it in some way. To be frank... This might be the only way that he knew how. But eventually, one way or another, Dusaro would look through the crystals... Search his heart, his mind, and his link to the Force... And found just the one he was looking for. He watched, with a light smile beginning to creep across his face as he couldn't help but contain his pride... Dusaro was the first Padawan he'd had in a long time to get this far, let's just make that real clear right now. Most of his students didn't make it this far... Even if... This was truly just the first step.

He chuckled at his first remark about always having a thing for gold. "Sounds about right" He answered.

"Gold can stand for hope, or for light... A signal, a beacon of hope, light, to those around you... But it can also stand for greed and gluttony, ego and self-obsession... Self-importance as well. Remember what it means, both good and bad... And it will aid you" He would advise softly.

"If that is your choice... Lead the way out."

[member="Dusaro Dresari"]

"Spoooky ghooooost!" Dusaro said in a mockingly 'terrified' voice at Joshua's remark, rolling his eyes. But when he finished rolling his eyes, there was no Joshua. He blinked, looking around with a 'huh' expression that said it all. "...And i thought snipers were spooks." He said with a smirk, making a little verbal jab at his master. He had loosend up a bit at least, considering he was able to make light joking jabs like that.

"Greed, negatory, ego, negatory, self-obession, negatory, self obession and self-importance definitely negatory. As for gluttony... Well, you can't blame a guy for liking meat can you?" He said with a smirk, as though blow off all the things listed. He was not actually blowing them off, as Joshua would know by now. It was more his way of going 'yeah yeah yeah i know'.

"I am not a guy who takes long to make his choices." Dusaro said with a smirk, heading out of the cave. While they headed on out, Dusaro thought a bit, about a few things. He figured he would need to explain that little 'outburst' as it were back there. It hadn't been his intention to keep it hidden, there had just never really been a good time to bring it up. "I have a few things to talk about while i am putting my saber together, if ya have time." He said while 'leading' the way on out, throwing the offer out there.

The Jedi Master appeared to be quite amused at Dusaro's responses to his shenanigans. Good... Good, he thought. That was what he had wanted to hear. This was a serious job, it was... But if you couldn't live life to the fullest while you did it... Well, you'd end up just as Josh had for so many years. Living with [member="Shmi Labooda"], getting married, having Jason... It had taught him so much about living his life to the absolute fullest degree, and that Jedi were indeed people... Not just weapons without feelings, or emotions, or a soul...

So if one could laugh, they could live. And that was one of the most important lessons he could ever teach Dusaro, this he knew. He could teach him decades worth of lightsaber combat... It wouldn't matter if Dusaro did not live his life to truly see what he had done, the world he had helped shape, the people he had helped to live their OWN lives to the fullest. But Dusaro... Well, he seemed well on his way.

He was proud.

Dusaro would offer to talk once they got back, and he nodded his head. "It will be a long ride back to Voss, regardless. I have time" He would respond as the two would arrive at the front of The Final Dragon. The Refurbished Defender-class Light Corvette was considered a ship quite suitable for Jedi work, and Josh had it custom outfitted quite well in the years since he had first obtained it as a war spoil granted to him by the Galactic Republic after a gruelling battle with the Sith Empire. He hadn't used it for a very long time, preferring the ship he had formerly called The Final Dragon at the time. As the years went on, he retired the old Dragon, and brought in this ship to replace it, getting it custom renovated and re-purposed to suit every need that a Jedi, himself especially, was going to have while flying from mission to mission. Of course, there had been a renovation in the last year too, the ship seemed just a tinge bigger than the last time Dusaro had likely rode on the Dragon. There was an extra room, if he cared to notice, one that held a crib and all the essentials needed for bringing an infant child on-board a ship with a hyperdrive. With Shmi's decision to rejoin the Jedi as well, Jason needed to be brought along to Voss when warranted.

Either way, once the two would cross the ship's ramp and the doors would close behind them, he would call out to his R4 unit. "R4! Punch us back to Voss, if you would? The kid's done" He would call as the R4 unit in the cockpit would let out a handful of beeps in affirmative. Josh would look back at Dusaro and motion toward the couch nearby. "Grab a seat, you deserve it after the ride you've had" He would remark as he would begin making drinks... Giving Dusaro time to explain his situation at his leisure.

Dusaro had learned, rather early on in life, to live freely. Growing up as a 'Merc Man' in the age of war that was currently raging meant learning to not take anything to seriously. When you live a life that is determined by the whim of a mortar bombardment, a grenade throw or a boming run it puts things into prospective. Some people lock up tight and close themselves off. There are probably about as many ways of dealing with that as there are people. Dusaro was one of the ones who went into it all with a laugh and grin. 'Why give up, why give in? Its not enough? It never is.' Living was plenty hard enough without wasting ones thoughts on ideas like that. There was certainly a degree of pride in that kind of thought process, Dusaro wouldn't deny it. But people need a certain amount of pride he figured.

"Good." Dusaro nodded as they headed on into 'The Final Dragon'. It was not bad, but Dusaro still preferred his 'home', the New Avalon. Granted, Dusaro had been raised, trained and lived on that ship for his entire life. That ship more then any single place was his home. There were plenty of places he would be welcomed, but if he wasn't staring up at that familiar gun-metal grey ceiling, he wasn't at home. Dusaro did however notice the extra room, it bringing a bit of a bemused smile to his face. 'There will be a little one in there some time soon i suppose, huh?' He thought with a little amused look.

"Hey now, i don't hear any kids on board." Dusaro said back at Joshua at the remark to his droid, looking around as though confused with a poodo eating grin. "Sounds good to me." He said, taking a seat at the couch after taking off the little sling he had rested across his back, setting it down on the table. He had worked hard on this, setting the peices together, forming them while keeping their unique shapes and looks. He unfolded the cloth sack, revealing all the normal lightsaber internals but also something... Not quite normal. There were four peices that would make the outside of the hilt that were not quite normal. Two looked like they came off the vibro-unit from two vibro weapons, while the other parts looked like a pair of hilts that were put together exceptionally well. A massive amount of care and effort had been put into making sure it would all fit together perfectly and properly, with minimal wasted space and a very comfortable looking grip. Setting the crystal onto the cloth, Dusaro stretched, resting both his hands on his knee's and looking intently at the peices, nodding to himself. And then he worked on starting to put it together. "I was raised as a Merc-Man ya know. My Mother was a Echani, my father one of the last few remaning Firrerreo. They were both... Round twenty six, seven, when they had me. They were amazing. I am fairly damn sure that you might have been able to toss my mother a lightsaber and she could have used it. My father had some of the best shooting abilities in the buisness and he was no slouch in a fist fight either." Dusaro said, slowly closing his eyes as he focused his mind on the construction at hand and the force. He could feel the emotions surfacing again. They were not long lost or anything like that, just not something he generally thought on.

"Best example of this was when we got abandoned by a contractor. Not their fault, the battle line just fell apart from a enemy suprise attack and we couldn't get to EVAC. I was... Seventeen at the time. At the time i had a nasty leg wound that kept me from running, so i was rear guard watching their backs. But what do they do? Try and run, no, surrender, no. They waited in a trench, with enemies swarming all around them. Only thing between them and a badly timed death was me calling out how to act, where to move to avoid the enemies jumping the trench running after our broken line. Not a inch of hesitation. Then enemy armor rolls up and what do they do? My dad sticks a block of explosives from under the lead vehicle. This gets better, trust me. He lets it pass, then they ask me, 'where is their rear vehicle?'. 'The hell do you need to know that for?' 'We are gonna board it'." Dusaro said, mimicing what sounded like an older mans voice. "It was a freakishly crazy idea. But they did it. Snuck over to the far vehicle and blew up the lead one, before capturing the rear vehicle, picking me up and escaping. After that our little Merc team picked up a new name, 'boomerang'. 'Didn't matter where you toss them, they will be back'." Dusaro said with a little chuckle. That was a rather amusing memory to be sure.

"Four years later, we are out in the outerrim. We just finished up a pirate cleanup job, wiped them from the sector. As it turned out, they were not just any pirates. They were working for some Sith group at the time. Since their staging forces had just been wiped out, while the rest of the security forces were on the other side of the planet they launched a raid." Dusaro said, his voice hardening slightly. The process was abou thalfway done, slowly fititng the parts together. "Thing is, we were already headed back. We finished our part of the job. So when they raided the main city, we were there. And we gave them hell. Two landing craft came into our area, we decimated about... Half the forces in one, forced the other to hold. Just us and a small group of police, around twenty of them. Against atleast what had been a hundred troopers that got cut down to sixty, thanks to a trio of creative Mercenaries. But it seemed someone took exception to that." A snarl sowly grew, as though he was baring his teeth at some foe. Even in a life or death situation that was not a face Dusaro made, except for once before, earlier this same day while fighting the appirition.

"A Sith Knight, the one leading the assault came. Anyone with common sense know's you can't just firing line a sith and hope to nail him down. I had been going to get the emplaced gun at the time and came back to watch how things played out. My mother and father rushed him as a pair. They put up a hard fight and managed to even start cornering him, but they didn't manage it. He managed to get a hand free, using lightning to make my father's blaster pistol explode and unleashed a counter attack. My father lost his head and my mother her heart." The hilt of the lightsaber was slowly forming together as Dusaro looked on with a face that was filled with enough anquish and hate that he could not even maintain his look of ire. It was a passive, hidden thing. But as Joshua saw earlier today, it was very capable of lashing out at a moments notice. And if [member="Josh DragonsFlame"] was feeling paticularly perceptive, he might notice that this went past a simple grudge. It was almost closer to a taint of darkside.

"Seeing that, i drew out my sword and rushed him. I am still not sure how i ran across such a distance that fast. It amazes even me. Before i knew it i was upon him and that Sith had quite the suprised look on his face. The next moment my sword was crashing down on him. Everything after that is a flurry of just movement. I didn't even see him, my sword, anything. I just kind of... Attacked, relentlessly. But it was tiring and in a crucial moment, i slipped up. That was the first time i ever had the force used on me. In an instant my right arm was cut off and i was lifted off my feet by a massive force push. Ever been slammed hard enough into a duracrete wall that you went through it? Cause i have. I was lucky there was not any kind of support in that area where i went sailing through. I ended up coverd by a desk that fell ontop of me after. By the time i came back around, the assault was long over. The city had been sacked and destroyed. The only things besides me and a few survivors that survived was the New Avalon, which was not in the town's star port but at the militaries base in a closed off hangar." Dusaro finished his little 'story' as the lightsaber finished sealing itself with the help of the force, slowly resting back down onto the cloth. His gaze rested upon it now, picking up the newly formed weapon. The words he said next were quiet, softly spoken.

"I can't forget the past. I am not strong enough for that. But i can carry it with me to the future." He said quietly, simply. As a Jedi that was probably a failing and he could accept that. But there were some things he just couldn't let go. But this was one of them.

"That's because I'm talking to him, and playing babysitter apparently" He cracked wise right back, his lips twitching into a slight grin as he returned Dusaro's biting wit with that of his own. Either way, he watched as Dusaro would take out some sort of cloth, as he would make the drinks. They were alcoholic, so if Dusaro wanted something non-alcoholic, he could just let him know, and he'd make a new one without. He didn't mind, his Padawan had a long day, so he was fine to go the extra mile to help out a little bit. He watched Dusaro unfurl the cloth once he had finished making the drinks, peering over with interest as he noted the very... Unusual set of parts he had decided on for a lightsaber.

Either way, Josh would set Dusaro's drink down on the table, and sit down on the other couch as he would kick back with his feet up. He was very laid back in this instance compared to the strict, stoic, stalwart way he generally was in Dusaro's training sessions, or on missions. Of course he did crack jokes, evidenced by the ghost comments before, and the one about talking to a kid and babysitting one at that. But in this instance, he was almost... Kind of like a regular guy. Sure, he was still wearing the Jedi robes, and if Dusaro took note of the boots on the table, he'd notice they were fully armoured. It was one of the only pieces of armour that Josh let show on the exterior, seeing as he couldn't really hide the Magnus Boots, which he had painted to resemble that of the regular Jedi uniform boots from a distance unless someone looked closely enough. The rest of the Magnus Armour he had crafted from that strange material lay under the robes, leaving his opponents unaware...

He would listen carefully as Dusaro would tell his story, but also from the corner of his eye watching him construct his lightsaber using the Force, as Josh had instructed him to practice with the stock parts before they came. He frowned as he detailed how his parents died, and how the Sith in particular that he saw in his hallucinations had been responsible. Finally, he let out a sigh.

"The fact of the matter is... There is no going back and saving them. I wish I could have with my folks too, I do" He spoke softly, stopping to let him finish his lightsaber. As he did, he would continue.

"... But the least we can do is prevent it from happening to someone else.

That is why you have constructed that lightsaber."

Dusaro was completly okay with something alcoholic. He was not a massive drinker but it was rather well know that he did enjoy his drinks on occasion. As far as what kind, as long as it didn't taste like crap there was not much Dusaro wouldn't drink so he would accept more or less whatever Josh put in front of him, taking a sip occasionally as he told the little tale.\

He did notice the armored boots, fairly sure that if Josh was wearing stuff like that he probably had armor everywhere else. Dusaro never wore robes outside of ceremonies as Josh would know. Robes had their nice points but they just were not for him, he had tried it for a while. He would forever be a cargo pants and vest guy. Though Josh would be aware of the fact that Dusaro also wore a flak vest under his sleevless vest. It wouldn't do much for a blaster but it wasn't for blasters, it was for explosions. Bit of flying debree, sharpnel, ect.

After finishing the lightsaber, Dusaro nodded solemly in agreement with his master. "No... No going back and saving anyone. No matter what they mean to how many people, gone is gone." He said simply, looking over the constructed blade and holding it up, activating it with the hilt pointed to the ceiling, though plenty of distance to not hit anything. The lightsaber sprang to life, a pale golden blade shooting out from it and vibrantly thrumming.

"Plenty of people who need to have that kind of help." He said in solem agreement with his master.
