A Long Shuttle Ride, For Sure

[member="Cartris Elsdar"]

Kerstas sat in her seat on the shuttle, her bag of possessions clutched to her chest. She did not know what planet the shuttle was stopped at, nor did she care -- well, not really. She would only begin to care when the shuttle arrived at her destination.

The young Chagrian was more excited than she would let on about the result of this trip. For at the end, at Maramere, she would get to meet her Master, and her true Sith training would begin.

For now, though, she had to deal with weird strangers and smelly cabin spaces.

When are we going leave? she thought with a sigh. Honestly, one would think the pilot would like to be rid of his passengers as soon as possible; heavens knew she did.

Cartris made his way through the rows and rows of seats aboard the shuttle. When he found his seat, he quickly sat down and clutched his small bag. Although there wasn't much in it, it was all he had. He honestly had no idea where he was right now. All he knew was he had to go meet up with his friend.

He looked beside him and saw a woman. Woman wasn't exactly the right term because she looked about the same age as him, perhaps a year or two older than he was. He thought about possibly starting a conversation with this stranger, considering how the shuttle seemed to be taking forever to start.

"Hi, I'm Cartris. Cartris Elsdar. What brings you to," he glanced quickly at the destination sign, "Maramere?" He finished. Maybe I sound a little bit like a stalker, oh well. He thought.

Kerstas's eyes had followed the young human as he boarded the shuttle. Please don't sit here, please don't sit here, please don't-- She stifled a sigh as he sat down next to her. He was young, maybe a year younger than her, and that coupled with his openness (honestly, it was like reading a holovid!) did not immediately endear him to her. An idea flitted across her thoughts, and the Chagrian girl narrowed her eyes slightly. Immersing herself a little more in the Force like she'd been taught at the Temple, she looked at the boy again and made an interesting discovery.

I wonder if he knows he's a Sensitive? If so, she may have to be on her guard. If not.... then she might have just been looking at the newest recruit for the Sith.

Provided the Sith didn't chew him up and spit him out.

Suddenly the boy spoke, introducing himself as Cartris Elsdar, and giving him a look of Stalker, much?, replied in turn. "I am Chiati Ghorvin," she told him. False name? Assuredly. But she wasn't about to give a complete stranger her real name, either. "I have to meet my professor there." There. She'd answered his question, and with that looked once again towards the entrance, not for the first time wondering when they'd be taking off.

Judging from the girl's glare when he introduced himself, she probably wasn't the most open person, to strangers at least. Perhaps her reason for going to Maramere was personal, and he had invaded in. Her glare was intimidating, so he quickly looked away. Even though he wasn't facing her anymore, he felt something...strange. It was one of those feelings that you can't really describe because, well, you don't know what it is. He tried to shake it away, but it was still there.

What is wrong with me...?

He sighed, and turned back to face the girl as she finally introduced herself as Chiati Ghorvin. He looked at her curiously. From his months of striking deals with friends and strangers, he could detect lies somewhat decently. He was sure that this one was. He played along and nodded.

Ah, a professor. Wonder what she's learning. He opened his mouth to speak, only to realize that the feeling he felt was gone. It seems like after her glare stopped, the feeling stopped as well. It didn't really matter anymore though. "Meeting a professor? Cool, what are you learning?"

((Sorry no colors, I had to type this on my iPad...))

((Haha no worries. If you're able to switch to desktop mode on your iPad, you can get all the special features and whatnot.))

Kerstas had let her gaze settle on her fingernails, which she had painted a lovely shade of emerald green. After this shuttle ride, though, she just might have to change them to red.

This boy's persistence at conversation was becoming bothersome. Did he really think she'd become his friend? She didn't have friends -- allies, perhaps, but no friends. Which was just how she liked it; friends knew weaknesses, and if friends became enemies then her enemies would know her weaknesses, too.

How bothersome.

So, picking at one nail whose polish was chipped, the girl decided upon an answer she was certain would shut him up. "I am going to--" But then, she stopped. That other idea, the one that had made nothing but a fleeting visit, was back.

Her orange eyes sneaking a peek at the human, she mulled her idea over. True, he and she may one day be rivals, but he could also be her...not minion, exactly, but something along those lines. That may be a little too ambitious, she told herself. But, at the very least, the Sith may yet gain a new recruit.

Leaning in slightly, the girl lowered her voice. "Have you ever heard of the One Sith, Cartris?" The question was semi-rhetorical; he had to know who they were. The Sith were infamous, and surely word of their legacy had penetrated the entire galaxy now. Of course, it would be her luck if this whelp had grown up feeding on the propaganda spread around by the Jedi Scum.

Cartris awkwardly stood there watching the girl gaze down at her fingernails. She examined her fingers closely. Huh, self-conceited much? He wasn't a big fan nail polish anyway. Trying to find something to do, he decided to look into his bag and make sure everything was in there. He always kept his possessions close to him because they were the only things left that belonged to his parents that he still has. It made him angry, but also happy at the same time.

He put his bag down and sighed. He knew that eventually he would have to move on. His parents were not going to magically come back to him. He just liked having something that could remind him of them.

Te girl turned towards him, and learned in a bit as if she was telling him a very well guarded secret. "Have you ever heard of the One Sith, Cartris?" He thought about the question. He had learned a little bit about the Sith in school. It was widely known, especially in his home of Corusant, that they were tyrannical and feared throughout the galaxy. Considering how the Jedi were "hailed" in Corusant, he should technically be against them. But he had never met an actual Sith, or Jedi so he wouldn't judge them. "Yeah, I've heard of them. We kind of learned about them," he said. "We were generally taught that they are really feared throughout the galaxy, and Jedi are against them but I honestly don't care that much. i haven't really taken a side."
