Kaali let out a grunt of effort as she swung the hoe towards the fertile ground, the Dantooine soil giving way to the durasteel tool. Every day for the past twenty years, she had done this. Her farm was not the most successful, nor did it rake in profits, but it gave her enough to life comfortably, and that's all she really cared about. She wasn't doing this for riches, nor for self-gain. She farmed because she wanted to leave her old life behind, to become a new person. And most of all, to keep her family safe.
Dantooine was one of the most isolated planets in the galaxy, with few outside events affecting it's grassy plains. There were few people there, and no industrial settlements. The closest thing to civilization was the general store and spaceport several kilometers away, both of which saw little business.
Kaali Verd wiped her brow as she stared into the distance, to the remains of the ship that she had crashed here in. She had settled close to it, in order to warn people off from it. If anyone wanted to find her, they would have to go to that ship, and Kaali had the only farm in kilometers.
Sighing, she got back to work, the hot sun beating down on her as she got the field ready for this season's planting.
Unknown to her, the register for that ship had finally hit the Holonet, and the names 'Rigard and Kaali Verd' drew more attention after all this time than she could think possible.
