A life on Atoa.

Walking home from school, I had my bookbag over my shoulders wearing a rather provocative school uniform. Walking alone with headphones in my ears listing to some music that I couldn't really place the name to. It stayed somewhere in my mind, but I couldn't pull it out.

As I walked speeders zoomed by me as it would only take about a 15 minute walk home. My sneakers made a plop sound as they were slightly to large for my feet. I was bobbing my head to the tune when I felt a hand rest on my shoulder. I turned around to see my friend, who happened to be a guy, Larex. I smiled as I gave him a hug. "It's really good to see you!" He had just graduated last year and already had a job. He was nice, but I never thought about dating him. He was just not my type.

Very dark features and rather sharp face, I sometimes laughed at him for his pointy nose and how it could pop a balloon. But that was all fun and games. Taking my earbud out he spoke to me, "Yeah! its been what, a year almost? And girl have you grown. I remember when you were just at my chest level." Over the year I had grown a lot. Now I was up to his chin and could clearly see the small stubble on the bottom.

"Yeah! now I can outrun you too!" He smiled and shook his head, "I still doubt it." and as his words ended, I began to run home. Laughing as I did so.

-------------------------------

That was a few months ago. I can still remember how we were both laughing as that happened. Holding a rose in my hand, I walked up to the brown casket, looking at the young man inside. His dark and sharp features made him look handsome for the first time in seeing him. Only if I could have gotten closer to him. And only if we had not been running.

-------------------------------
Running with him hot on my trail, along the way, my bag jingled as I was slowly losing ground. And at the last moment, I stopped. Seeing a speeder racing by, and the shapes stopped moving around me. The colorful shapes stopped moving and seemed to be sad and gloomy looking, all of a sudden, Larex ran out into the street.

I screamed on the top of my lungs, "NOOOOOO!" I reached out for him, grabbing his vest, and it ripped off of him as the speeder came to hit the young man.

------------------------------
Tears flowed down my eyes and cheeks. I was the last person to stand up here and put the flower ontop, when I stopped myself. Taking a hold of his now forever cold hand, I placed the rose in his grasp near his heart. I then leaned down and kissed him on the forehead. Praying to anything that was a higher power than me to keep him safe as he is now taken from me.

Two months later.

I was walking home from the club. Dressed in my school uniform, I walked the streets of Atoa. My home planet, wishing that I was partly dead. I was a slave to the fat rich men of the town that could afford to watch me "dance" for them. My face was barren as I moved alone the streets. At this time of three in the morning, I would have just enough time to get home, take a shower say goodbye to my parents and go to school. I lived a double life now. A stripper at night, and a goody two shoes during the day.

I wished that I could do something else to get myself to move on from Larex's death. I hated myself for even thinking that I could outrun him. the only thing is, I kind of wished that we had traded places. The shapes around me were always gloomy just floating around me as though everything was the same. and off to my right, I could see a triangle start to glow. At first it was a dull grey and then progressed to a blue. It was so beautiful I just had to follow it.

The planet Atoa was primarily covered in ice and harsh cold, creating a mostly desolate place to live in, thus spawing only a few towns and cities. What brought him here he did not know, but like many times before Thurion would stumble upon a place he hadn't heard of and would often times choose to disembark and see it for himself before taking it for granted. This was such an occasion. He requested permission to land inside the Atoan Space Port, and was given permission quite readily. Not many visitors come here, was his guess. Before leaving the comfort of his ship and venturing out into the cold air, he dressed himself appropriately to compensate for the change in climate, with a thick animal skin draped around his shoulders to keep him warm. The natives and residents of this world were surely well-adjusted to the cold through continued exposure, but he was not a resident, and thus safety always comes first. He exited the Seren Heritage and stepped out onto the streets of Atoa. While mostly devoid of ice and snow, the city still retained the below-average temperature. To live under such circumstances and conditions must have made the people here hardened and proud, he thought as he wandered the mostly empty streets. It was late at night - or early in the morning, depending on who you ask - after all.

(Sorry didn't get a tag)

The blue triangle began to move through the streets at a rather slow pace. It was parallel to the ground and moving like an arrow for me to follow. Walking a little faster after it. it sped up as well. I then saw a orange square zoom past my head and down the street to turn at the last second and go down another. I still followed the blue triangle though. I had a feeling that since it was the first one that I saw change color in over two months that it wanted me to follow it.

I stopped and thought about this. I should be home asleep then getting ready for school, not following this stupid shape that nobody else could see or touch. But my gut told me to follow. I crossed the street avoiding the one speeder that was going so slow that it was probably dangerous. I walked down an alley over to another building, and when I was to turn, the triangle then melted into the building. I quickly had to follow it. Running around the building I looked to see the triangle, but it wasn't by itself.

It had attached itself to a man. he was dressed in rather thick clothing. It looked like fur from a rather large animal, and he was kind of tall. he was clearly an outsider and well, he looked around as though something were missing. I turned around and acted to dig into my bag hoping that he didn't see me. Slowly, so slowly that cement could have dried on my head, I looked up at the man as he walked down the street. His face was somewhat sharp, but not pointy. I could see some of his face, and his rather tan skin. That was probably because he was on a planet where he could wear less clothing, or he liked to sunbath only his face. My mind went with the first idea.

Even though he was a man that clearly had money, He might have not needed help getting around, still I walked up to him. "You're not from around here are you?" Most of Atoa spoke our native tongue, but recently in the past few years, we had been learning more about Galactic basic because of our inports and outports expanding to other planets. And we needed to speak a common language. and well, he was an off worlder. I gave it some thought sometimes. just so you know.

Greeted by the sight of a girl walking up to him, Thurion offered a bow as she stood infront of him. "Is it that obvious?" he asked jokingly. He was surprised to learn he wasn't actually cold at all, as if he already wore a second set of skin to ward off the freezing winds. "Forgive me, where are my manners... My name is Thurion. I come here... well, just for the sights, I suppose. I'm on a sort of pilgrimage, one might say, and I've never visited an ice planet before." He inclined his head towards the young lady before him as he spoke his name, and couldn't help but notice her attire. It resembled some sort of school uniform, only it seemed a bit too provocative to be an official thing. He didn't believe any school would allow so much skin to be shown in class. "If you don't mind me asking, what is a lovely young woman such as you doing out at a time like this dressed the way you are?" Admittedly, his eyes trailed off a number of times as he spoke to her, which only served to make him blush every time, much to his frustration. Before she could answer him, he decided to remove his thick animal fur and drape it around her, covering her up from head to toe in it. She was much smaller in size than he was, after all.

He cracked a slight quip about him being here was obvious, and well it was true. I smiled at him as he introduced himself as Thurion. He wanted to see the world that was almost ice covered, but despite this the streets were fairly clean for the little bits of snow in the corner or the icicles that hung from ledges or windows. I could clearly tell that he was looking at my clothing and my body as I spoke, "Well it is nice to meet an offworlder with a Gentleman's attitude around him."

He then took off his coat and shrugged it around my shoulders. HIs body heat that had transferred over with the jacket made my skin shiver to realize that it was kind of cold out. And I had to smile as he was probably trying to hide my body so I could look somewhat modest. I allowed it, just talking to the man I was not going to try and make him mad at me or not like me because of my actions. "I'm just walking home from work after finishing my shift." It was the general response to what I did. Being a dancer meant that we also tended bar or worked as a waitress. So if really if anybody asked I would say that I worked at a Dinner.

"Well do you need help going somewhere or need a tour guide?" Speaking with a slight chuckle to be joking around about his being here for the first time. "Or I could show you around while I walk home?"

"It's awfully late for someone in your age to be working, whatever your profession might be. Please, allow me to walk you home, my young lady", he offered along with a bow, through which he reached for her hand and held it up to his lips, giving it a delicate kiss. "Might I know you name, my dear? Or would you rather we remain strangers?" Either way, his offer to walk her home wouldn't change regardless of her answer to his question. Thurion then gestured for her to lead the way, and the two began walking side by side at a sauntering pace. He found himself relishing the chilling air - it felt fresh and cleansing. Part of him wished to ask the young woman beside him what workplace demanded such an attire, but chose not to out of respect for her lifestyle.

"So, do you have family to speak of? Do you live alone?"
