A Letter to the Lord Protector

Valik

Professor of Alchemy
Dear [member="Ayden Cater"]

I don't believe we've ever met before, but my name is Warren Valik, and am a scientist for the Fringe. Our two governments have no always been on the most cordial of terms but after the events at Druckenwell I cannot help but feel as if you are a rallying point, and one I can justify myself getting around. With your permission, I would like to help you combat the CIS and Baktoid Industries by being allowed access to the Baktoid Headquarters on Corellia. If given permission for this I would use the facilities to analyze the schematics and software of all droids and ships under Baktoid production, as well as any other sort of information I might obtain there, and then craft a virus designed specifically to counter Baktoid's systems. I would then turn the virus over to you(Or whomever you wish in your government to receive it) to be used at your discretion, as well as records of any projects that might not have been reported the Protectorate Government. If you do not wish for me to serve you in this manner I understand given our differing governments, but I would appreciate a timely response so I can get back to focusing on other projects.

Wishing the Best

Warren Valik

Ayden was careful in his reply.

>Thank you for your interest in resolving the tragedy at Druckenwell. Normally I would not endorse a foreign party from performing such a search. However, given the circumstances, you are perhaps the best non-biased technician currently at our disposal and one whom could not be charged as having an affiliation with the Protectorate.

>For security reasons, I will have to ask that you allow a pair of Protectorate soldiers to escort you as you do you your work, both to protect you and ensure that no Protectorate laws are violated in the course of your work.

>If you would join me on Corellia at your earliest convenience, we can sort out the rest of the details in person if this agreeable to you.

>Sincerely,
>Ayden Cater

I'd first like to say that I'm thankful you hold my skills in such high regard, I was not aware my name had travelled well in Protectorate Space. Given the circumstances your desire for security is warranted and understandable, and will be no issue as I conduct. I will arrange to get over to Corellia in a weeks time, that way I'm hopefully not stepping on the toes of your other meetings.

Be seeing you Soon

Warren Valik

And the Scientist remained true to his word. He came to Corellia a week later, leaving most of his equipment on his ship, carrying only a datapad and the clothes on his back. He arrived at the "Purple House" as some called it, the office building of the Lord or Lady Protector, and spoke with one of the guards at the door. One just didn't want into a major figurehead's building without going through security after all.

"Hello, my name is Warren Valik, and the Lord Protector should be expecting me."
