IMPERIAL CONFEDERATION
OSSERTION,
UNKNOWN REGIONS

The galaxy was changing. The Galactic Order once spearheaded by the Galactic Alliance and the Sith Order in the wake of the simultaneous collapse of dozens of galactic governments across the galaxy was facing total collapse. New powers such as the Royal Naboo Republic, the Black Sun Syndicate, the Diarchy, the Galactic Empire, the Mandalorian Empire and the Imperial Confederation had risen within the span of just a few months, each vying for more influence and power in the galaxy slowly eclipsing and challenging the more established powers in the galaxy.

To Sularen this was an opportunity that he simply could not miss. If the Imperial Confederation played it's cards right, it could end up emerging as a dominant power in the galaxy once the ongoing power struggle had ended, it's prestige eclipsing that of the New Imperial Order and heralding a new era of Imperialism across the galaxy. However to accomplish this vision, the Imperial Confederation needed more allies and manpower, something that was made more apparent after it's defeat at the hands of the Sith Order during their failed offensive into the Thandon Star Cluster.

As such Marlon Sularen in his capacity as the Supreme Commander of the Imperial Confederation's Armed Forces, had begun working on revitalizing and strengthen the Imperial Confederation seeking out Mercenaries, Independent Imperials and other types of individuals with the resources and assets that the Confederation desperately needed. Among the group of individuals the Imperial Supreme Commander had sought out was Kael Virex, the CEO and Director of OPEX, a mercenary company with Imperial origins. Already Sularen had approached two other Imperial mercenary groups and the addition of a third mercenary company would only bolster the strength of the Imperial Confederation in future conflicts.

Having arranged a meeting with Director Virex, the Supreme Commander would soon arrive to the world of Ossertion in the Unknown Regions via his Shuttle which upon emerging from hyperspace and making it's descent through Ossertion's atmosphere, would soon make landfall at a landing pad near the headquarters of OPEX. Once his shuttle would come to rest the Supreme Commander would emerge flanked by a squad of SpecNav Commandos as he would make his way towards the OPEX Headquarters ready to meet Director Virex and seal a deal that would come to benefit and enrichen his company and his men for the foreseeable future.

Location: Arche City, Business District

Kael glided along the walkway away from the shops and bustle of the rejuvenated inner city center. Osseriton had changed a lot since his last post as Head of the Imperial Guards. He had already checked in on Senator Harris, and Emperor Alexander Fel was hard at work with the redistricting and new Premier constantly urging for funding here and there. Unfortunately, the time of the old empire- and the old career, were gone. The streets were now filling once again with every variety of being, human and alien. Occasional foot patrols by Military police in their stark blue fatigues and light vests were common, and the bustle of the state-run worker brigades rung out across the blocks as men in coveralls and vests, lead by military officers, directed all manner of hovercraft and vehicles towards the old city to continue the repairs from the imperial collapse, the wars, the civil wars, and the chaos after the final coup. As if the decade away gave the planet not a moment of time to rest, and the carnage was so heavy that the Emperor himself was signing edicts to mobilize equipment to re-terraform sections of the world.

As the streets shifted from bustling clean and tidy towards more aged, giant concrete walls shot up to the right. It was out of place, the buildings around had yet to be claimed, and the city had not yet repopulated or touched this area in the infrastructure projects. Kael rounded a corner, approaching a simple Century standing post, he rendered a greet and the man saluted, he promptly returned one.

The regional headquarters was a strange but necessary collection of buildings. The main complex was what was very clearly a refurbished and modernized administration building. It was light grey, almost white. In front of it stood a statue of Alexander Fel, and multiple imperial-age soldiers raising a flagpole atop the imperial palace. On the pole flew both the Fel Imperium's banner, as well as that of OPEX. The building had a large stairway in the same dull color that lead to a landing and entry, and smaller building connected via corridor like a web of concrete all connected to the hub. Recruits ran in formations, and conscripts practiced drill. On the far side of the complex lay a raised landing pad, the designated arrival place of dignitaries and possible clients, that part of the compound was perhaps the prettiest and most inviting. Flowers of all types, artwork, granite tiled flooring, and small waiting room with carpets. A mix of white and green, sprinkles of color mixed in wherever. They may be mercenaries, but this was still a buisness, and OPEX was no band of hitmen. No, instead it was organization designed for any situation, silent professional who could scale from asset retrieval or training, to fully readied brigade sized combat units deployable for sustained combat operations.

As Kael made his way in the building and miandered through the slate colored halls he finally arrived at the client port. Sat at the desk was a younger being, male, and dressed in a suit. He couldn't have possibly been more than 21, and every part of his outfit and desk gave the presentation of excellency. Trimmed nails, groomed facial hair, and obviously wealthy enough to afford the newest buisness style.

"Han, we are expecting a guest shortly. It should be on the schedule, when he gets here send him immediately back to my office."
"Yes sir" The man paused for a moment- "Also sir."
"What is it?" Kael turned to him, stopping slowly.
"We have received a request from the Emperor's staff. They say he would be honored if you could make an appearance."
"Any particular reason? Or just for old times sake?"
"They mentioned an inspection of troops, specifically the Emperor's hired detail, and the one assigned to Senator Harris."
"Alright, schedule it. Assuming our new client doesn't need our immediate escort, I still have 5 rotations on world."
"Of course sir."
"Thank you Han." Kael turned back towards the door, swung it open and stepped in.

His office was well lit, facing an outside corner with a view over the wall and the city beyond. In the distance on the mountain you could see the Imperial palace, and below it in the city- The parliament. In the center of the office lay a simple but quality desk, graphite-colored metal shot up from the legs meeting a dark wooden top, and facing the customer at least, was a wooden front panel matching the top material. Shelves in a similar fashion rested against the walls filled with all manner of medals and awards, as well as keep-stakes and war-trophies. Nothing vulgar, but fitting. Kael slid into his chair, fixed the alignment of his monitor for his computer as to not obstruct the incoming customers, and pulled up a file.

After a short walk to the OPEX Headquarters, Sularen parted ways with his retinue of SpecNav Commandos as he entered the building and made his way towards the reception area where a younger male sat behind a desk wearing a suit. Following a short and brief exchange between himself and the young man, Sularen was soon directed towards the office of his host, the Director of OPEX himself, Kael Virex. Upon arriving at Virex's office, the Supreme Commander would proceed to enter the room where he would find Director Virex seated on his desk, inspecting a few files.

"Director Virex. It's a pleasure to meet you." he said as he took a seat on the chair directly opposite to the Director's across his desk. "I must say i am most impressed by your operation here. I did not know that there were still loyalists of the Ossertion-branch of the Fel Dynasty active in the galaxy, especially after what the Brotherhood of the Maw did to the Planet decades ago." the Supreme Commander added. "That being said, how are things going with the Periphrial Exchange?"

Kael stiffened slightly as the Supreme Commander spoke, he couldn't risk his first impression appearing lazy in front of a new client.

"It's a pleasure to meet you as well." He paused for a moment, "Things are well, and to your other point. Since the Premier returned and took the seat in the galaxtic senate, the Emperor has been running the show here. Fel loyalists are split between a few lines, but house Alexander has a reputation for pragmatic autocracy and liberal rule- Something people from this world seem to appreciate."

He adjusted the small Fel banner on his desk slightly. Being sure to lightly direct attention towards the item.

"That being said, they are also one of our largest clients. Osseriton may be war-torn, but the capital has become very wealthy over the past year, almost like the whole nobility wanted an escort. I personally am just glad to have the Emperor's attention again, even if it is as Director of an Independent organization. Regardless, he and the Premier-turned-Senator need guards they can depend on."

Sularen adjusted himself in his seat, leaning forward as Director Virex spoke. "Well that is good to hear, Director." Sularen responded. "It's often nice to see devastated war-torn planets quickly recover and emerge as prosperous worlds, even better when it happens under the oversight of like-minded Imperials." he said complementing the progress that had been made under Emperor Alexander. He had witnessed the Maw's devastation of Osseriton during their early campaigns in the Unknown Regions where they transformed the planet into a penal colony to fuel it's war machine. To see all of that destruction and devastation reversed by an Imperial regime that now ruled with benevolence was extremely satisfying to the Supreme Commander.

"That being said, given the Imperial nature of Alexander's Government and his supporters i am quite curious as to know what your people think about the so-called Galactic Emperor in the Core Worlds and his Galactic Empire given their conflict with the Galactic Alliance in which Ossertion is a member planet and their recent proclamations." he inquired.

Sularen knew how hostile Solipsis's regime were towards other Imperials who did not align themselves with them given their actions at Cademimu V and Ord Cantrell. Given that Solipsis's Empire had risen from the ashes of an Imperial Rebellion within the Alliance-held Core Worlds, naturally he would be curious to know where Ossertion stood on the matter and whether they might have hidden allegiances to the Rogue Galactic Emperor.

Direct, but a fair question regardless. Kael pondered for just a moment before half smiling.

"My people have two loyalties. To the company- of which I'm the head. And to the clients. The current situation in the Core is political one, and quite frankly, my days in that arena were left behind when I dropped my robes and collected my severance pay as head of the Imperial guard." He paused for a moment, thinking how to phrase his next statement.

"As it stands, we have no relations with, who you address as 'So-Called Galactic Emperor'. The only political bodys whos authority we bow to are the one that pays and one that provides refuge. And we do not support conflict of interest. If- in your service, the Empire were to become a threat, we will honor our contract."

Though he felt his point was made, part of Kael's mind drifted to how peculiar his situation was. Between conscription and wet-work, he really didn't have a chance to think abstract.

It was still strange to him that a decade ago his undying loyalty was to the Emperor, and today the Emperor was just another client. There used to be honor in his profession, and now he has to manufacture it behind credit transfers and loyalty. If the client knew- enough of that. He wasn't lying to the client. He did recieve payment, he did leave the guard, and the circumstances of that leaving were between him, the Emperor, and a pile of corpses who thought they knew better. People who dishonored him and their state in ways that a thousand lifetimes of loyal service could not undo.
