A free Wookiee

Abregado-rae's Capital City

Bobawwa strode across the high sidewalks of Abregado-rae's capital, taking care not to step to close to the drop-off that fell in to the canals serving as the city's streets. This was the first time he'd ever been off Kashyyyk without Frederic Juusk. He hadn't cared paticularly where he went after he left Hoth, so he just picked a random planet on The Gnasp's starmap, and went there. He had no destination in mind, he was just extremely happy to finally be free of Frederic. Gryyyk trotted along at Bobawwa's heels, yipping at everyone that they passed as he followed the large Wookiee. The Wookiee had utterly no idea where to go, or what to do, he was simply just wandering aimlessly through the streets. Because he could.

Capital City of Abregado-Rae,

As much as cool it would be for HK to approach Bobsie himself on the streets of Abregado-Rae, it was a big city, and the droid was probably busy doing actual government paperwork for once, he never seems to ever do it even though he is an Exarch, which means his rule now extends to multiple planets.

However, in his walk Bob would be able to see an ad on one of the many holo-screens of the Capital City, through these devices HK could send out his propaganda, the planetary news, or any addresses he needed to announce to his Abregado subjects. This time around what happened to be viewed on the screen was a recruitment ad for the Iron Company, the army HK personally commanded in defense of Protectorate and Abregado.

HK_recruitment_poster.jpg
(Yeah his current droid body resembles more the vessel of General Grevious than traditional HK droid for greater agility during lightsaber combat)
With that Bob should have be given a direction in which to go for some work, plus hey, there was that droid he spoke to on Hoth!

Oh, you know what?
Screw it,

[Shyriwook] "We meet again."

The familiar monotone of Mr. Feeny, to whom this HK's voice would be similar, spoke from behind Bob, yep, once more the armored droid in grey cloak was able to appear out of nowhere behind Bob.

[Shyriwook] "And what brings you to the planet under my protection this time? Are you perhaps on a tour of all Protectorate planets?"

HK quipped, once more ignoring his duties as Observer of a planet and an Exarch.

Bobawwa glanced at the holoscreen for a few moments, his massive brows rising in suprise. He'd seen that droid before! He'd seen it on Hoth! What were the odds- the one planet he came to was the one where [member="HK-36"] lived. Lived? Do droids live? Maybe where HK-36... charged? Where he... Hmm. Bobawwa stroked his chin, and almost jumped off the sidewalk into the canal when a familiar voice rang out behind him. The Wookiee spun around quickly, only to see the same droid directly behind him. The Wookiee's hand flew to his heart, much like a human does when startled, and said something in Shiirywook, under his breath, that translated to *censored* in HK-36's translation devices. After a moemnt of heavy breathing, Bobawwa responded, while Gryyyk ran around Hk's legs, sniffing his metal ankles.

<<"Are you following me?">>

//It's cool, I may be doing some pauses between posts too :p//

[Shyriwook] "Well actually, I have been on this planet first, and on Hoth, so it is more likely that you are following me."

HK looked down briefly on the creature running around his legs, Gryyyk wouldn't pick up anything unusual on him really, outside of the usual droid smells of metal and lack of soul.

[Shyriwook] "So what brings you here? Negotiating for the release of your companion back on Hoth?"

His red photoreceptors would tilt up to meet the eyes of the Wookiee herbalist.

The Wookiee's eyebrows raised again. The chances of randomly choosing the planet that [member="HK-36"] ... inhabitated... to visit were slim to nill. He'd never paticularly believed in religions such as The Force (though he acknowledged it existed), but the large Wookiee did believe things happened for a reason. Hmm. The droid's question drew him out of his thoughts, however. Negotiate for Frederic release? He almost laughed.
<<"You can keep him, but I pity you if you do.">>
Meanwhile, Gryyyk finished sniffing around HK's ankles, and turned around, lifting a back leg directly over the droid's foot. The Wookiee's eyes widened in shock as his pet began to urinate on his new aquientance.

HK nodded slightly,

[Shyriwook] "Well I am not sending him to a prison, we will not be clothing and feeding him for free, he will most likely be recruited into the ranks of Hoth Rangers whether he likes it or not, we shall train him, and keep him captive, while he guards the creatures he wanted to poach. Seems fitting."

The droid was a fan of poetic justice, as he often discussed with the Eldorai Kaida during their wine and candlelight meets, or that one time they were both freeing Hoth from pirate presence to assert Protectorate base there and had time on a dropship to talk, later that day HK strangled a Wampa with his feet, found one of the few Ropo colonies, and poached three of the critters to keep as his pets. Rather hypocritical considering his later stance on protecting the planet and not allowing others to do the things he did when liberating the frozen wasteland of a planet.

Without skipping a beat large hooked metal claws extended from the droid foot and with a quick flick he would snatch Gryyyk, lifting him in the air in the grasp of his foot, balancing himself perfectly with nifty use of repulsorlifts and built-in gyroscopes.

[Shyriwook] "I think you should have him on a leash in the cities."

That would probably not stop the little critter's peeing, and as he offered Gryyyk back to Bobawwa one would hope that he did not aim the stream in such a way for Gryyyk to pee on Bobawwa as well.

Bobawwa almost laughed out loud. He felt bad for the Ropo Guard if they were keeping Frederic. He was more likely to get eaten by a Wampa then to protect them. Not that Bobawwa paticularly cared either way, that is.

The Wookiee's eyes widened as the ostrich-esque [member="HK-36"] droid suddenly lifted up Gryyyk with his foot, and handed him to Bobawwa while balancing on one leg. Meanwhile, Gryyyk stopped peeing, and started yapping incesiently at HK. The Wookie grabbed his pet, frowning, as the young Tuk'ata pup growled at the droid.

<<"Right... leashes... might be a good idea...">>
Strangled a Wampa. With your feet.

HK nodded slightly as he motioned for Bobawwa to follow, the droid would walk at slow pace towards one of the bigger buildings in the Capital City, the Governmental Building, tall and marble, with many large steps leading to its entrance and terrace from which speeches and announcements are made, like when HK was made the Observer of the planet.

Anyway, as he would lead Bob towards there it would be a bit of time still before they would get that far, in mean time they could walk and talk,

[Shyriwook] "So you still did not answer me as to what exactly brought you here."

The droid asked once more

The Wookiee glanced up towards the huge capital building. Huge marble spires and staircases, a protruding balcony. It looked more like a palace then anything else. Why was [member="HK-36"] takiing him there? Bobawwa frowned slightly, before glancing back to the droid, still walking behind him.

<<"I got a star map... and pointed to a planet. Anywhere is better then hunting with your- err- new recruit.>>

The droid nodded slightly,

[Shyriwook] "I think I understand, well there may be a job I could use you for, something only a Wookiee could help me with."

He would look back to Furry Bob as he kept walking the streets nearby canals of the trade hub world, little did Bob knew the palace-like building was where HK worked in on daily basis, the Governmental Building, brain of the Capital City while the Capital Spaceport was its heart, by the way, Department of Creative Naming was the worst funded Department in the whole of Abregado-Rae.

[Shyriwook] "Tell me, have you ever heard of the monster-worms Tikulini, also known as Death of Myriad Knives, the Verpine Shatterguns, and Phrik?"

The droid would look back to Bob, seeing if any of that was ringing a belt, most likely it would be familiar except the Tikulini, although with Bob's past in the Monster Hunting Guild, who knew, it could be familiar.

Bobawwa raised the great swatches of fur over his eyes, hearing of a possible job. It had never occured to him before that he might have a shortage of credits roaming around the galaxy, but now he realized that without the steady flow of credits he'd gotten (though only a very low precentage) from Frederic, from the Beast Hunter's Guild, he would soon be without food, fuel, and just about everything else...

So, the Wookiee listened closely as [member="HK-36"] continued talking. Tikulni? The word sounded familiar, he might have heard it from Frederic, but he had no idea what it was.... Probably some rare monster that Guild had tried to send him on. He would have madeup an excuse, of course. Verpine shatterguns... all he knew where they were weapons. Probably something like a shotgun. And as for Phrik.. wasn't that some material that was supposed to be indestructable? Being the practical servant of Frederic Juusk didn't give Bobawwa much knowledge of hte greater galaxy. However, the Wookiee nodded and pretended as if he understood everything the droid was saying.

He wouldn't want to miss out on a job.

[member="Bobawwa"]

[Shyriwook] "Wonderful,"

The droid replied at Bob's nods,

[Shyriwook] "The job is rather simple, and it does not require for you to risk your live. During one of the jobs I have fought the Tikulini worm and slain the beast, for reference throwing a belt of grenades into its mouth is surprisingly effective, as a result I have acquired a collection of its teeth."

HK begun to explain,

[Shyriwook] "I plan to use the teeth's shape to make arrowheads from Phrik and shafts from Graphite we make here and make them into bolt guns for new type of bowcaster I have been working for. These bowcasters would use both standard mechanisms as well have two magnetic rails as it is seen in Shatterguns, that would allow them to propel the bolts on great speeds, it would be a new weapon to be used against armored infantry, like those clad in Phrik plates, but I need someone to teach me how to make a bowcaster."

The droid would look to Bob,

[Shyriwook] "That would be where you come in, teach me how to construct a bowcaster and I will grant you 10 percent of sales and production of these new bowcasters, it will give you a nice profit, and a portion of them to sell, or use, on your own."

By then they would be right by the stairs leading to the entrance of the palace-like Government Building, Bob would be able to size up the whole of the structure in his eyes.

The Wookiee's eyes widened. [member="HK-36"] basically wanted to make a bowcaster that could destroy tanks... By no means were the Wookiee weapons easy to make, but they were certainly powerful when crafted correctly. A basic bwocaster used a combination of a Wookiee's intense strength and magnetics to propell a quarrel fast enough forwards to rip through durasteel... One with indestructable shafts and tips made of... whatever a Tilkulni is? It could probably rip apart a starfighter. He wondered if the droid realized how powerful this would be. Ecpecially with magnetic rails in place of the two magnetic orbs at the tip of the weapon... it would make it fire with even more power. He didn't much come into reasons to use a bowcaster, but he did see the potential for profit for this, whether he personally liked the idea of creating something that could kill people or not...

The Wookiee simply nodded a yes.

[Shyriwook] "Great, because we are starting development today."

And with that he would motion for Bob up the stairs, all of those stairs, without any escalators or repursorlift gondolas.

So, to droid that was probably nothing, but Bob may have gotten his workout for the day, depends how good his form was, really.

Anyway, once they arrived inside they would have to pass through an armored security checkpoint, inside there were lines and groups of busy bureaucrats and local politicians, as well as workers and civilians who had some sort of business to do in the Government Building. Through all of that the droid motioned towards one of the corners, in a pillar of white marblework, nothing too unusual in the interior of the building, there was what seemed to be service elevator, rather unassuming with darkened steel-grey narrow doors, as opposed to the sets of two double elevator doors on both sides of the building that led to other offices.

[Shyriwook] "Over there."

The droid confirmed that indeed they were going to take what looked like janitor's elevator to get to their next destination.

[member="HK-36"] worked... in a palace? The Wookiee grumbled slightly under his breath as he marched up the endless staircase. Was it possible that the Droid ruled the planet? Can droids be kings? No, surely not, they'd overthrow a droid king... Could the droid be a cyborg? The Wookiee continued to grumble as they finally got off the staircase, Gryyyk asleep in his arm by now, and stepped into the 'palace'. It was the biggest building Bobawwa had ever been in. The Wookiee paused for a moemnt as he stared around the building, his eyes wide. That settles it. He'd a king of some sort. After a moment of gawking, the Wookiee followed HK towards the tiny elavator... This was the King's elevator? Bobawwa frowned as he tried to shove his bulk into it, only barely suceeding, before glancing at the droid questioningly.

[member="Bobawwa"],

As the elevator's door closed, HK tapped the wall with his metal knuckle, speaking to Bob in his native tongue once more,

[Shyriwook] "Phrik."

He would begin vaguely,

[Shyriwook] "All the other elevators are made from standard Durasteel, mine is smaller and hidden, nobody would assume the Head of this planet would have the smallest elevator in the building, but mine is made from Phrik. If this building would crumble, anybody in here would survive. But as rare as that metal is, they could not make it any bigger. It is a relic from previous regimes that ruled this planet, actually."

The machine then would press a series of button on the console, a code as to which floor they would go. And as Bob would feel the elevator would move down instead of up, they would be going somewhere underground, and they would be going there for a while,

[Shyriwook] "Funny story, when I took this planet over it had very loose government, basically anybody in charge of the garrison of the planet ruled it, that is how the Protectorate set it up. I was given rule over Abregado after Dreadpirate Lord called RC 212 attempted to raid it. Me and Sarge, another war hero of Protectorate, came to intercept him, I was the first on the scene and I begun fight against them, Sarge came as reinforcements. In the end all of Dreadpirates of Death Watch were slain that day, and I dragged RC through the streets, let people see that this planet was under my protection and I would be neither underestimated nor easily defeated."

He would look to Bob then, as they traveled down and he shared the tale of how he came to be the Baron of Abregado a song would start to tune from the speakers in the elevator,

"You can dance, you can ji-ive, having the time of your li-ife.."

[Shyriwook] "When I brought RC in for a bounty the Protectorate gave me rule over this planet as its Observer and First Baron, first thing I did was set up strong military hold and common patrols in the street, launched war on brutal crime. Crime rate plummeted under my watch, and any sentiments of overthrowing me disappeared after the quality of life improved during my regime. At first they did not want to oppose me because of my display with RC, then they would have to face my armored soldiers common on their streets, and then, there was less and less crime, and I, through my deals, brought industry and prosperity to the planet. Eventually the soldiers were welcomed, I was strict in their discipline and did not let them take advantage of people here, at the same time I treated and paid them well, trained them well in combat. And then, I was welcomed, and now people here do not want me to give up my office as their Baron Observer."

Through his story the story on the speakers continued,

"Dancing Queen, young and sweet, only seventeeeen.."

[Shyriwook] "I love this song."

The droid quipped as their elevator dinged, they have arrived at their floor.

Bobawwa raised the huge swatches of fur over his highs as the droid began speaking about the elevator's material. More phrik? Hm. The Wookiee glanced down at the floor as the elevator suddenly jerked, beginning to go down rather then up. Where were they going? Underground? Did he have some kind of bunker under there? Bobawwa thought on that for a moment, before [member="HK-36"] began his story. A story of dread pirate sand conqeuring robots, formerly corrupt goverments and kind leaders. It seemed like the type of story told to children. The fact that when given the ability to rule a planet, the droid took it over kindly, helping the people to suceed, and bettering the planet overall gave Bobawwa a large measure of respect for HK-36. He was right to think he was a king, in a way. But a fair one- not like you'd see in a lot of places. Hm. Bobawwa just nodded as the droid finished his story. He rarely had much to say, even though he rarely had the oppertunity to speak to someone in his own language. However, the Wookiee did laugh when HK gave his opinion on the song that had been playing while he gave his story. He hadn't been paying much attention to it... But it didn't sound like the kind of music a droid, or a king for that matter, woulnd enjoy. You learn something new every day.

((No problem, I have two pc's myself so I know how it is :p I always use my laptop for RP'ing and typing and my desktop for gaming, kicking ass and taking names :3))

As the door to the elevator opened Bobawa would be welcomed with sight of the large engineering compound, clearly the lab where Abregado hardware was being worked on and prototypes produced. The large underground halls would be separate into smaller cells with Transapristeel walls, letting one see from get-go what was worked on in the cells.

Most of the scientists inside were tall, furry Gados with beady dark eyes and large buck teeth, there were also some whale-like Herglics in broad lab coats, some humans, and some droids.

In one of the cubicles to the left a group of Gados were working on what looked like a sword version of a chainsaw, what looked like an older, rusted specimen was taken apart on one table as on the other a much cleaner and newer sword was being put together, in another cubicle, this time to the right, Bob would be able to see a large droid, spherical one, small metal horns protruding from the top of its ball, what looked like a large tongue extended from its middle segment meld in a smile of sorts. From his recent trip to Hoth he would know what Ropo looks like, and that was a Ropo-shaped war droid, except its large metal tongue was covered in chainsaw segments. Other such oddities would be seen in the large engineering lab, as well as few suits of armor being worked on, large and small.

[Shyriwook] "Over here."

The droid looked back to Bob, making sure the Wookiee was following him as he lead him to one of the emptier cubicles in the back, a project recently finished in there apparently.

[Shyriwook] "This is where you will work in, here we will put a bowcaster together"

Taking out a keycard from one of his pouches he would swipe it, opening the cubicle's transparent door for the Wookiee and stepping in before looking back to him, a group of researchers soon joined them, aides the droid silently summoned with his built-in communications, a couple of those tall fuzzy Gados with lanky limbs and necks.

[Shyriwook] "I do have some lumber and tree strands from Kashyyyk, I took a trip there once in the past when fighting the Space Pirates, this time Ironwolf's crew, I was able to hold on to it and keep it preserved."

Bobawwa followed the droid king amazed, looking around the laboratory to the various projects and sentients walking around. Herglics, bigger then he was. Rat-like sentients in lab coats, and.... Ropo... war droids... What? @HK-36... had built droids... resembling Ropos... Giant metal orbs with even bigger chainsaw-like tongues... They could literally lick people to death. Eccentric, maybe slightly crazy, droid king.

The Wookiee followed him to one of the back cubicles, looking through the transparisteel viewports into each one they passed. Some kind of sword... Sword, bowcasters, war droids... He was in a weapons testing facility. He supposed that was obvious. He was making a bwocaster after all. He wasmaking something that would kill people... But it was for a good cause. He'd use the credits for his flower shop, use it to expand... Bobawwa pushed the slightly guilty thoughts out of his head, and put his thoughts to the subjct at hand.

Despite not being a fighter, Bobawwa had been trained with bowcasters when he was young, and had become quite skilled with them via hunting with Frederic. He was glad to hear HK had the needed materials- it saved a trip to get them. AFter a moment's glance around the cubicle, the Wookiee spoke up in Shiirywook. <<"Kthysh vines? Wood, or metal? We will need to make them small if you want humans to use them...">> The typical bowcaster was too large and heavy for most humans to even lift, let alone use. Smaller ones were made for humans and the like.

HK-36

The Iron Lord Protector (Neutral Good)
[member="Bobawwa"],

[Shyriwook] "We have the vines, and let us use metal, it will be easier to reproduce them without taking lumber from your native lands, vines can be later replaced with strong cables woven in their image. As for the size, let us make one small one for humans, one normal for bigger beings."

He said looking to the tables they had prepared for their engineering, after all, humans were not the only ones serving in Abregado military, there were droids strong enough to carry such weapons, as well as large beings like the Herglic or even other Wookiees who in their wandering settled on thhe planet.

[Shyriwook] "When making weapons,"

The droid begun as he looked to Bob,

[Shyriwook] "You must remember that they have both physical and psychological effect, for every practical trait your armory has, you want an intimidating one as well. You do not want your weapon to just kill and kill well, you want the other guy to look at you, your weapon, and say 'I do not want to fight them' you want your weapon to prevent a fight in the first place just by being there."

The machine would look back to the tables, the materials for them to work on being organized by the Gados aides,

[Shyriwook] "And I strongly believe that the bowcasters we will make here today will do so."
