A fragment of power.

Now that was clearly unpredictible... Blane usually expects anything, though this was kind of weird. The message about some strange artifact found in the rebel digging site was really unexpected especially because of the location, Halm, where the alliance was minning adegan crystals. There weren't many informations about this, everything was kept on minimum untill everyone's arrival, "It's understandable, especially if that piece of stone has something important to show." Blane thought at first.

As he arrived on Halm in a relatively small rebel ship, he immediately walked to one of the marines who was probably guarding, he had no need of words to know why he came here, the marine saluted respectfully and motioned for Blane to follow. he couldn't stop wondering what could be that thing doing on a planet like Halm, maybe the benefactor and the others could make sense.

A message reached the desk of the Benefactor as he was enjoying a glass of Corellian Whiskey and a sandwich. He looked through and found the planet Halm had been the site of a mining op that uncovered some type of artifact. [member="Blane Nightfall"] had already arrived on planet according to flight logs. It was always worth getting out of his office, avoid his paperwork and the politics. Things were changing for the Alliance, but change was good. As Benefactor, he was proud of his men, even at the loss of the scumbag Sith and their "Business Handlers".

Thane send a message to Admiral [member="Krasnaya Xue"] and asked if he could board a ship with her if she were to go. He also sent a comm to his Chief of Military [member="Oddball"] Hoping to not go alone, he wasn't much of the historian, so he'd hope the others would have better luck than he with potentially identifying the artifact.

Everyone seemed to be disturbed by the artifact that was found not a long time ago, the workers at least couldn't stop talking and guessing what could be and what could do, with the soldiers was different, some of them seemed to not care to much while others didn't really understood why to bother for a stone with some unknown writing. Blane kept following the marine untill the artifact was in front of his eyes, although he probably wouldn't be of much asssistance, one more mind being put at work couldn't hurt, he would not do anything than watching, studying and protecting untill the others arrive. "It's origins are unknown, we tried to translate the writting but we didn't had much success without a specialist." Said the marine as Blane looked at the artifact in silence. There were markings as he never saw before "I am no such thing so I cannot say, the only thing we can do for now is to guard the artifact, there are chances to be useful, or at least I hope..."

Meanwhile in a hidden place a man stands straight with his hand at the back watching through the window, the only thing that seemed to bring light in the dark room. Not after a long time, a young woman entered the room wearing a black armor and kneeling as soon as she finds herself close enough to the shady figure. After her a scientist, a man that seemed to be completely covered by a green and orange colored armor wearing a mask and another black armored human with a hood also followed. "The scouts reported that the rebels found an ancient artifact on Halm, lord Tharion." Said the scientist with fear in his voice to the shady figure. "I believe it is the one we are looking for since it has the same type of writting."
No sooner did the scientist finish speaking than the man spoke with a sinister yet calm voice "Good." To the young woman's annoyance who seemed rather disturbed "Good? It is the last thing we need to finally finish the project, that piece of stone can tell us what to do, we CAN'T afford to loose it." Yet he did not moved and spoke with the same calm voice "Then see we don't loose it. It is perfect that the rebels found it, instead of a stronger enemy, they posses no threat yet. Which is why I'm sending you to get the artifact, Sinestra." The woman bowed down as she left the room yet it did not stop Tharion to wonder "Who is leading them?" To which the masked man answers with an almost robotical voice "There is no intel about that, lord Tharion. They call him or her "The Benefactor" Yet could be any race and any gender."

War was eternal. And even if they had suffered a hard defeat at Geonosis, the Rebellion still lived on--as did Admiral Xue and millions of her compatriots. She was busy overseeing the evacuation of Lamaredd and transport of Krasnie Drives' orbital construction docks when the call came in from the Benefactor himself.

An event of potential importance had arisen on the Rebel-protected world of Halm, and much of the leadership was being called together to survey what had come up. A familiar officer by the name of [member="Blane Nightfall"] had been present for the discovery during routine mining operations and had alerted Benefactor Drexel. While artifacts were neither within Krasnaya's area of expertise nor were they her primary interest, there was apparently something particularly odd about this finding that warranted the arrival of prominent Alliance members. And so, she did not delay.

"Continue evacuation, Captain Tethirtifor. You're in charge of now."

In a matter of hours, the flagship Irreverent was on its way through hyperspace for the mostly-barren world of Halm.

Blane made a call to the Benefactor and few other rebels trying to fill them in, it was an awkward situation. "Lieutenant Nightfall here. I assume you all have your own troubles so I will make this short. They found this ancient stone or whatever is it, written in a language that none of them recognize, we would need some expert to tell us what is written." He said this rather fast not really sure what to do with this... was that alien or something? He then turned around to one of the soldiers that came alone at his back "Report."
"We put everything on guard sir, this place should be safe enough, though.. I don't think anyone would care about this forsaken world." Blane nodded in aknowledgement then spoke to the soldier "Neither I do, but to underestimate the enemy is a dead wish. never forget this."
The soldier saluted and then left the room.

In the same time the Dark jedi Sinestra and her troops were already on their way to Halm, not very different than a sith was this girl, but something was certain, she had her own ways to gain power...And that power was in the rebellion's hands waiting to be claimed or studied.

Halm, a location Nagate had been before. This was the home of the heart of his lightsaber. Halm now was the location of a Rebel mining occupation that had discovered a foreign object and requested the team to meet up to investigate. Nagate hadn't been an active member for some time, what with the SSC missions he'd gone on and the invasion he fought in, the man with no memory sure had a lot on his plate.

Arriving with a shipment of fresh miners and troops, Nagate rondesvoed with [member="Blane Nightfall"] to asses where he was needed. The foreman of the mind remebered Nagate from the first trip.

Blane took a deep breath, the people around seemed to not be very stressed which was good for him... he hated to work with annoyed people... or even angry people, he then saw [member="Nagate Hei"] and was about to say "You-..." It didn't matter when a soldier suddenly interrupted him "Lieutenant! Admiral Xue has arrived!" Well finally some good news... Until he ran to see what the security cameras are showing... there were ships... big ships, certainly frigates in number of 4 deploying several men on the ground. THAT was certainly NOT Admiral Xue. Blane hit the soldier's head, not enough to feel any kind of pain, but enough to know that he should work at recognizing his own ships...

"Get the miners to safety and sound the alarm! Sergeant, I want the soldiers organised and ready for battle, whoever deploys soldiers with the guns in hands cannot be friendly." Although he hoped they are. As the soldiers prepared the whole place for the attack, Blane walked to contact the other members of the rebellion. His fear was that the communcations might have been hacked or something "Ghost here, several ships are deploying troops not far from here, I do not recognize the ships as being anything I saw before, the soldiers are heavily armed and I request immediately assistance!" He wondered why not simply attack the whole place from air? not a moment he thought that they wanted the artifact.

And then it happened, several explosions were heard from outside clearly rocket launchers. The enemy troops begun getting closer and closer as the dissoriented rebel soldiers were trying to hold their ground and stop the advance. Blane grabbed his AR-47 and ran outside as fast as he could. Not a moment too soon, one of the rebel soldiers was on the ground, hit in the shoulder recently. Blane shoot several times at the closest enemy troops killing 4 of them then grabbed the soldier's arm pulling him up almost brutally, being soft is not the same thing with being alive... "On your feet soldier! Get inside and see if there are any other weapons! We would need some rocket launchers too..." The young lieutenant then took cover and yelled to the other soldiers "Focus on the rocket launchers then we can fall back to the base and get the advantage!" With that said he threw a grenade and begun looking for the enemy troops.
