A First Order Education

Samka slowly paced back and forth outside her instructor's door. Once whichever student was in there had finished the one to one exam she would be cleared to begin it herself. Just what this test entailed Sam was unsure as Acolytes were forbidden from speaking to one another on the topic. This did not mean they couldn't speculate and train with others who had not yet taken the exam, this was encouraged. Unlike the Sith, the Order of Ren found strength in numbers and co-operation and the culture of petty one upping fellow pupils was frowned upon and so Sam taken part in practice duels and even a group revision session for ideology the day before. On this day however you were tested on individual merit.

Without warning the door in front of her opened. Sam waited for a moment but when nobody appeared on the other side she decided to enter alone. Inside was a circular bright white room with an instructor stood upon a raised balcony high above her, it all appeared rather standard training and simulation format.

"State your name," the instructor's voice was already distorted by his mask, typical of those worn by the Knights of Ren, but the echo of the room added another level of intimidation. She wasn't afraid as such but it was hard to suppress such a basic instinct, already her heart was beating faster than usual.

"Acolyte Samka Derith," she replied keeping perfect composer in both voice and body language. If there was one thing she was good at it was knowing how important keeping up appearances were. Speak and act as though you are in control and you are.

"Acolyte Derith," the instructor boomed down at her. "Are you ready to begin?"
