A Different Sort of Negotiations

Pain shot through Verz as the Echani's foot connected with his head. He nearly cried out, but he pulled his composure back together by sheer will. A trickle of blood ran down the side of his head as he lifted himself off the ground. His cracked rib ached, his shin hurt, and his skull felt like it was going to split. He got to his feet, and a single drop of blood fell from his head to the ground. He responded to herattack by gathering himself back into his fighting stance, then prepared to kick.

She rolled off of him as he rose, moving back to her feet. Blood trickled down from cracked skin on her forehead, but she ignored it even though it would stain her white clothes. He is strong. Go for weak points. Nerve clusters. Even though this was a duel, Janira was determined to win by any means necessary, especially against a Mandalorian. She wasn't going to cheat and draw a weapon, but she would go for overly painful strikes. In this case, that meant that she had to have pinpoint accuracy with her attacks. He was fast and adept at reacting to her, which meant she needed more stealth as well. His foot was coming in a kick. Immediately she dropped into the splits, moving beneath his leg. But as it moved above her, she reached her hand up intent on using his move against him by slamming fingers into the nerve cluster in his upper, inner thigh.

As his leg swung over the Echani's head, a blast of pain burst through his leg. She had hit a nerve point, and it hurt like hell. His adrenaline tried to mute the pain, but it was still felt. He had to win, to show the Echani that the Mandalorians were strong. And to earn their respect. As the pain flared, he instinctively pulled his leg back, but he swung it down at the same time, so that his heel would hit her in the back of the head.

Stay focused. The hand upon his leg, where it had jabbed into the cluster of nerves, felt the leg shift. She reacted immediately. This was her zen mode now. She was focused on being the fighter that she was. She shifted so that his leg contacted her shoulder, which would leave him in a somewhat compromised position. An injury for an injury, so to speak. Hers was painful, his leg contacting her shoulder with a large amount of force, but she could ignore it for the moment. The next day she'd probably need an ice bath, though. Her other hand shot out for his other leg, striking at the nerve cluster there. She wanted to take him down. Striking his nerve clusters would help her to do that.

Another flare of pain, this time through his other leg. He nearly cried out, but managed not to. He shifted so both his legs were on the ground, blood oozing from his head wound. He assumed a more defensive stance, but still was ready to strike should he get the opportunity. The rush of adrenaline made everything slow. A marvelous thing, adrenaline. He looked straight at the woman. Ready to strike or defend in an instant.

This time, when she rose to her feet, she waited. His adrenaline was driving him, and she was smart enough to know that. Rolling her shoulder around once, she made sure nothing was cracked and broken, which she was sure that it wasn't. His legs were probably hurting him like hell, but he still had the strength to continue, and the energy as well. She needed to get him to calm down, so now it was time to dance until his strength left him. It was the best method to keeping this fight within her grasp. She moved about him, slowly and methodically, watching him, and ready to dance when the time came.

She circled him, and Verz watched. It was like the start of the fight. He still was hopped up on adrenaline, but that was good. He studied her, and came to desicion on what to do. Everything was in slow motion. He shifted, and launched a sweeping kick, but just before it hit, he adjusted so it would hit the Echani's ribs.

Too slow. She moved towards him, dropping to her knees to slide, leaning back to avoid the kick as she did so. She was extremely flexible if nothing else. Coming out on the other side, she made no move to strike him. She surely could have, but she had a method to her madness, so to speak. There was a way to win this fight and that way revolved around her ability to wear him down or get his adrenaline high to fall. That was possible, but she had to remain focused and cunning in the whole thing or it wasn't going to work. Dancing back again, she waited, watching him from a ready stance. Her eyes searched him, and to a trained Echani eye, her calm and stance betrayed both amusement and enjoyment of her situation. It also showed she was impressed, at least a little.

The Echani was flexible. More so than Verz, but in his armor he had little need to be flexible. He would have to use his strength, wits, and the speed he did not know he possessed, until now, fighting without armor. He assumed another ready stance, and sweat mixed with the dried blood on his face. He took a deep breath, and felt a sharp pain from his cracked rib. The pain in his legs had settled to a dull ache, and his head throbbed. His adrenaline wouldn't last forever, but he could make the most of it. It could probably last another twenty standard minutes. Plenty of time. He swung another kick, his foot hooked around the Echani' and he pulled her leg out from under her.

She landed upon her back after the leg hook, but quickly used her legs to swing momentum and flip her back to her feet. Her upper back hurt now, and her injured shoulders hurt more, but she was alright, for the moment. She needed to protect her upper back now, though. Sweeping her own leg around, she delivered a snap kick aimed at the nerve cluster in his lower back. That would hurt worse than his legs. Stop letting him in so close, Janira. You know better than that. After the snap kick, she stepped back and away from him.

Another searing flash of pain, this time from his back. She had managed to get behind him, but he spun around after the kick, and stared her down again. He then, with his adrenaline rushing, quickly closed the gap between them, so kicks were no longer viable for either of them, and arm movent would be restricted. His head pounded from the sudden movement and the adrenaline coursing through him. He then quickly brought his head back and forward in a headbutt, hitting the Counselor in the forehead.

A glancing blow as she moved her head to the side, the move being obvious, and yet it hurt like hell all the same. More blood spurted from the wound on her forehead, leaving a bloody smear on the side of his head. She did something rather evil, though, relying on her savage instincts. Her teeth reached out to bide at his ear, with every intent of either taking a chunk out of it or ripping it off. She hadn't gotten the reputation for being a savage combatant for nothing. She'd pulverized her own cousins face after all. Given the gravity of this fight, and how serious she was coming across in her movements, which incidentally left the council murmuring a bit, it was only natural that she was going to be savage and brutal.

He felt the warm blood from her forehead smear on the side of his head. Now pain surged through his ear as the woman bit at it. He could feel her teeth, her warm breaths, the blood that was now leaking from his ear. She was brutal, but resourceful. He respected that. However, he still had to win this fight. He pressed the side of his head against her head and drove his knee into her abdomen, right below the sternum, where the diaphragm works. He drove his knee swiftly and savagely. No need for him to hold back.

Ok, that really hurt. At least she'd been smart enough to start pulling away after the bite of his ear. Thus, when his knee connected with her sternum, it didn't rupture her aorta or anything of that nature. She already had enough problems, she didn't need to be given a heart condition. Still, it dropped her to the ground to clutch at her chest as she spit out the bit of ear in her mouth. She groaned and held hands against her chest. It hurt, but she refused to yield, even if the damage might be extensive. She couldn't yield, it would look like weakness. Instead, she lashed out, kicking at his left knee while she squirmed on the ground. She kicked with enough Force that she could break it, and that was what she was going for.

With a sickening sound, his kneecap cracked. He wasn't sure how bad it was, but it was bad enough. It was enough that he nearly screamed, but instead he grunted. His opponent was clutching her chest, most likely in serious pain. But so was he. He wondered for a moment, how the fight would end. Certainty not in death. But perhaps a draw, or narrow victory. For either of the two. He rushed to close the gap again, then swung an uppercut at her nose, instead of the jaw.

She was still holding her chest when she climbed to her feet. Breathing actually rather hurt at the moment, so she was going to make sure that he didn't do something to her chest which could kill her. Better safe than sorry. Her foot had crunched his knee, but he was still moving, adrenaline no doubt still driving him. He came in with an uppercut and she leaned back so that his fist swung through air in front of her face. Coming forward again after his fist went past, she brought her knee upwards, aimed for his groin. Normally such a thing would be petty, but in a fight, all tactics were available. And she wanted this Mandalorian on his knees in front of her.

He nearly saw stars this time. A knee to the groin. Just great. At least the designers of the bodysuit gave some extra padding there. But it still hurt like a chakaar. He resisted the urge to double over, refusing to show weakness to the Echani. He stomped on her foot, hearing what sounded like a crack, then punched her in the gut.

Suddenly her foot was racked with pain. She ground her teeth together to keep from screaming. If nothing else, this fight was going to put her in a bed for quite a while, just as happened when she had an episode of illness take her over. That wasn't desirable, but it was reality. She twisted her body to avoid the strike to her stomach, however, and moved one of her hands from her chest upwards to strike at the mans throat, aiming to cut off his airway and end the fight. He wouldn't die, the Echani had doctors and letting him die would be detrimental to their safety, but he would feel like he was going to.

Air. It seemed he was in the vacuum of space, desperately needing it. She had punched his throat, and his airway had constricted itself. Gasping, and getting the smallest amounts of air, he knew the fight was almost over. But he wasn't dead yet. Or down for the count. With a lightning like reaction, he swung at and hit her nose. He tried using a breathing exersise, and managed to take a small breath. Hopefully he could swing this over to a draw. The Echani had to be close to that pain threshold. He himself was close. Thank Kad Haringar for adrenaline. He staggered back into a ready stance, looking athis opponent.

Her nose shattered. Blood spurted everywhere. Someone at the door left to go and get a combat medic. She held her head forward as blood dripped from the wound, and she staggered on her broken foot. Injuries allotted. This was a close fight. Very close. Too close for her liking. But she wanted to win, and she knew that he might be able to suck in a few breaths, but his body was suffering from lack of oxygen. His muscles weren't going to work properly. Finish this. End it. Prove your might. Then you can consider what he wants. He is worthy. She shuffled towards him and then snapped a kick right at his face with her broken foot. It was already broken. Hurting it more wasn't going to matter. She just wanted the fight over. Then they could both hit the bacta and heal for a few days before the council ruled on what he wanted.
