Grand Admiral, First Order Central Command
As the First Order prepares for war on their coreward front, a new threat rises in the frontier sectors. Striking from hidden bases and shadowports, a suspiciously well equipped and well organized band of pirates has begun raiding key military facilities and major shipping lanes. Utilizing cruiser sized vessels and advanced tactics, they appear to know Naval doctrine inside and out, and pick their fights carefully. With most of the military might of the First Order looking to the Galactic Alliance, it falls to the junior commanders and support organizations to figure out how to defend the frontier.
Meanwhile the Knights of Ren and FOSB have launched separate but cooperative projects to try and determine just who is behind the Ablajeck Marauders, and why they seem so determined to undermine the First Order.

Welcome to the Marauder Project, a non-traditional dev campaign with several goals. First and foremost, this is an attempt to net us a pile of posts to get a very fancy cruiser. But it's also an attempt by myself to create a faction campaign that gets people to participate in aspects of RP they wouldn't otherwise. Ever wanted your Starfighter Pilot to hump it on a mission with the ground pounders? How about having a Knight of Ren run a warship? Because of the asymmetric nature of the conflict, and the fact that the threads will be loosely DM'd, this should all be achievable.
Lastly I hope to reach out to junior members and get them involved. For fleeting in particular, large battles can be very intimidating. Here the scale will be much smaller, and I'll be actively playing the opposition. If you wanted to get a feel for how to command ships in an RP setting, here's your chance.
I expect this campaign to last three threads. The first will be unraveling the mystery of who this new threat (the Ablajeck Marauders) is and what their motivations are. The second is a dedicated military campaign to crush their base of operations and support networks. The last is both a general conclusion, hunting down the leader, and a more standard dev conference as those involved in the campaign use the lessons learned to make a new warship. That's the hope, at any rate.

Please use this thread for discussions, questions, general OOC. As a quick note, I'll get another actual IC post up there shortly.
