A Dark Political Advance

Lightning crashed across the sky. Still too far off to be raining but the boom of thunder shook the ground beneath Macharius' feet. He was clad in a dark robe, coupled with a voice modulating mask and the cover of night. Identifying him was an impossible task. The meeting time neared as he checked a wrist chronokeeper. The assassin would be along to accept payment soon. A wish for this night to be over was all he wanted. For tomorrow he will have obtained the victims position as Senator of Denon.

Constantly he looked down both ends of the alleyway. Wary of the few who wandered past without notice. Being mugged would be quite an embarrassment. Laughing off a hundred thousand wasn't so easy when he had all his money tied up in a brewing venture. "Any time soon would be nice". Impatience growing as the minutes ticked by. Then past the meeting time. Solaire tapped a foot for no reason. None other than worry anyways.

Night was upon me. I could feel the darkness. Not just itself, but the emotions that followed with the coming storm. Anger, sadness, Despair, and most of all, fear. Fear of the storm coming to destroy all that has been made. And for one such man, it may be the last night he shall expierance here in this world. The afterlife was different. Yet I knew it. I held no fear within my heart, because there was nothing to fear. Nothing to fear at all. Not even the man who stood there awkwardly with his suitcase. He may have seemed to get there early, but I was there before him.

I was training to become an assassin, So I had to blend in with my enviroment. I knew force cloak to an extent. I could make myself look almost like a ghost. A shimmer in front of you. But not completely gone. With the darkness, it was nearly impossible to find me. As the man looked one direction, I released the force from myself. Speaking in a very soft and easy voice.

"You chose a good night to have me sir. A storm is always good cover."

My body was hidden under a robe. Black, and dark. I may be rather small, but that should not detier this man from thinking I couldn't kill him. Already defeating a Bull Rancor, as well as many humans along the way was no feat to look down upon. Few could say they have done such a task. The only thing he could see of my face, was my nose down. to the middle of my neck. even if he tried, the best he would get is the bridge of my nose. For my raven black hair hid my eyes should any stray lights wish to bounce off my irises.

"Lets talk."

Macharius nearly jumped out of his boots as a hushed voice from behind spoke. People shouldn't be sneaking up on folks in dark alleyways when you were expecting them. Show up at one end and make yourself known from there. Thing like this could kill a fifty year old guy like him. "Your skill in the art of stealth serve you well... assassin". Macharius turned about to see the shadowy contractor mask to obscurity. Neither wanted to know who the other was. But one side wanted the other for it's skill, and in the reverse for it's credits. "So lets talk". Macharius lifted up a small brief case handcuffed to his wrist. "I have here half your payment. The other is in a location that I will reveal to you when I know the contract is completed. Your target is well guarded though. Have you formulated a plan off the information and schematics I transferred to you when last we spoke"?

Spinless prick. Scared of a girl just because I showed up behind him. Though, I wouldn't say it to his face, My face was void of emotion as the word assassin came from his lips almost with disgust it seemed. I wanted the credits, and he needed somebody to dissapear. That was all. If I were to fail, or if I were to complete it, there was a chance he could expose who I was. hence why I hid my face from him. And likely he too hid his own for those reasons.

Lifting up the case, he showed me that this was half of the payment now. The other half will come when I am done. A good deal as any. if I really wanted to make good cash, without killing a person, I could fake my name, and sign up to random assassinations and just leave. Taking only half with me so I could make credits to keep up different personas. However, there was no fun in that. I loved the thrill of killing. Being so close to death like I once was before. A question was asked if I had a plan. Shrugging my shoulders, my face was lit up in a very dark smile.

"Plans can always go wrong. More or less, I have an idea. If it goes the way I want, good. If not, I will be forced to improvise wont I?"

I reached out with my hand for the case that was handcuffed to him. Either he can take it off with the key, or I can take off his hand to give me the credits. the choice was his.

"Now if you don't mind, I need some killing to do, you have some buisness to finish, and a storm is coming. Don't want you to suddenly get stuck by one of those bolts now do I?"

Macharis pulled back the case of credit chips from the grabby assassin. "Lightning is nothing to fear if you are cautious and prepared. Before you have you go though. I'll let you know there in a communicator in this brief case. If you find yourself in a desperate situation in need of some guidance, I can provide some help. It is encrypted, so no need to worry. I'll use it to contact you after too, so don't lose it". Kneeling down without a huff Mach got to opening the cuffs. There was a bit of fumbling to actually find the keyhole in the dark, it was only a short wait. Once detached he got back up and stepped away. "Just don't get into something where you will need it before then though. Now fly away little bird, I'll be watching you sing your song of death".

Lightning is nothing to fear? I had to think that this man was rather naive about what power such a single bolt can do. Many die from it. Hell, half of the power used to make a lightning strike could be well enough to kill a rancor. It was still powerful. And it was random. Much like I was. I watched as he fumbled around with the cuffs. And once they were off, I simply nodded my head after hearing about the communications device that was in there. I opened it right in front of him as he was telling me to "Fly away" and put the communication headset in my ear. Already there should I need it. Likely I wont.

Closing the case after also seeing half of the reward for killing this man, I nodded my head and held onto it. speaking over my shoulder as I walked down the alley.

"You would do well to hide and make an alliby for yourself. One that is solid so you won't be tied up in this. Now run along."

Walking away, I would let him watch me as my form seemed to suddenly melt away and vanish into the night air. Leaving the trace of the Dark side around him. Letting him believe me to be a Ghost among the world. Lightning cracked over head as I had used a force jump to let my reach the top of the building. I now hung over the ledge crouching as I looked on into the darkness of the city before me.

Content with the killing of this Republic senator.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Night was even darker. It was thick and heavy. The rain pelted down upon the cloak I wore. Letting it slide off onto the rooftop upon which I stood. Keeping myself, and my gear clean of the water. Lighting stuck down hard upon a lightning rod in which was connected to the building about a block away. The wind tore at me. Threatening to tip me over in the storm that ravaged the planet. However, I was paying attention to the window in which light was pouring from. A shadow of the man who stood there watching the rain fall could have looked directly at me, yet would see nothing there.

I smiled brightly as the comming pain of the man would become real. And even more so, in which the way I would be showcasing his body to those who happened to find him. Tonight would be the last storm in which he would ever see, hear, or feel. And the last feeling he would have as he would look up into my eyes, was pain, and fear.

Now my work had begun.

A slim smile hidden away broke as she waltz away with a friendly bit of advice to him. 'Such worry for a youngling. I'm already ten steps ahead in the game'. Macharius chuckled softly to himself. The fun was soon to begin, and he had a bit of a walk ahead of him. Best to be going too. Swiviling on a heel, the disguised man turned to go. Marching down to the end of the alleyway as the rain began to drizzle down from the storm.

Senator Halved Idreth sat himself down at the table for a late supper. Duties of his position often left him to take late meals. That was something he quite disliked. Being a rather rubenesque man he quite enjoyed eating his fair share. A spread of pork, vegetables and potatoes heaped on his plate steamed, just begging to be devoured. And he set about the task of stuffing his face while the butler poured him a glass of cherry. The location to which he dined was the Senatorial Penthouse. A very generous donation purchased this sky scraping abode for the newly folded world of Denon into The Republic. Someone wanted to have the future Senators live comfortably. It took up the entire 125th top floor of the building. That adds up to a lot of square footage.

The rain struck hard against the windows in waves. Not to loudly as they were reinforced, but the thunder could not be held back. Occasionally drowning out the holocast he was viewings sound. It seemed it would be quite the leisurely evening for he Senator to enjoy. One which he'll be stuffed, drunk, and in comfort.

For me to kill the Senator how I wanted, I would have to get into the building. So the question was either go a few floors up, or down from there. I thought about it critaclly. And thought better that I would go to the floors above. You see, if I went above, I would be able to have the advantage of the stairs. Should somebody be walking up, I could use my body weight to jump on them, or have the above ground and height advantage. As well, if the guards came up, I could easily hide. Smiling as I looked for the windows across, I turned around. Walking to the other side of the roof. Heel-toe, and I was facing the building I wanted once more. I crouched down, drawing my lightsaber hilt, but leaving it off.

I then slowly started out into a jog, then into a run, and then into a mad dash sprint towards the building. The rain puddles on the roof splashing as I raced by, I jumped right off the edge. And by using force push after force push, I sent myself higher up into the air and to almost bob in the air to the window I wanted. Once I got close to the window, I aimed a little higher than I wanted, just incase I slid.

And I was glad I did becuase I hit the glass hard. Not hard enough to break it, but it hurt. Surprisingly, I did it at just the right time when thunder erupted in the sky. I smiled as I had a hold of a ledge between one of the windows. Holding on with white knuckles. I pulled myself up, Waiting. Listening. Hearing a flash, and then about a second later the boom. Once more, hearing a flash, second later the boom came. Knowing that it was about a second, I waited for the flash to go off behind me in the reflection. Timing it just right, I slammed my now activated lightsaber through the glass to cut through once. Turning it off as soon as I made the cut through the glass.

Waiting another time, I did the same thing. making an X in the glass, and then soon after the third one, I slammed my shoulder through it to break through. Making my way inside the empty room. I looked around for anything to prevent the draft from coming in, and to dampen the sounds of the rain from outside. Finding this was a bedroom, I grabbed the sheets and curtains to cover it up to an extent. After coming into the room some more, I opened the door just enough to look out into the hall. Lit up by dim lights becuase nobody happened to be in the hall, I smiled. It was a motion sensor ouside the door to detect people.

Opening the door very slowly, So slow that a snail would have raced me and won, to where it was wide enough I cold walk out. Hiding myself with the force once more, I slipped out of the room and into the hall.

Now to get to the right floor.

Macharius tossed his cloak and mask onto a table in a heap. He did not go home yet, had to watch just how things were going to go with the little bird. The location he was at was secret, but it was equipped with a set up computer linked to the security system of the building. The Senatorial apartment was observable in common areas by this system. As soon as she was caught by the security personnel they'd be rushing up in roughly two to three minutes. It was a tight window of opportunity. The Senator had to be located in that time too, and it was a big floor. Mach started up the systems and typed away a passkey. There was little wait and a single tap of the screen opened up the camera feeds. Now to find him. Mach began to sift through the multiple feeds, a good fifty in total for the hole floor, looking for the Senator.

Senator Idreth leaned back in his chair. Struck by the itis. Which is what you get after eating so much you just want to take a nap. Exacerbated by the alcohol too. "Ohh come on old Halved. Get yourself up". The chair creaked as the weight was lifted from its supports. As did his knees. The butler appeared once more to begin clearing the table. Content to just do his job and not bother in idle conversation to see if he cared for the meal at all. Halved began shuffling off out the dinning room towards one of the lounges. He needed a couch and something to waste time watching that he may relax.

I looked down the stair shaft. Seeing down on the next floor were two guards at the door to the floor. I smiled a little knowing that I could get to them. Grabbing my katana, I slid it up to hide under the wet jacket. Walking down the stairs almost too quite for a ghost. And as the men saw me, they asked for my name and where I was going. I started to speak in a soft voice. But the guards couldn't hear me. One walked up close and spoke about speaking up so I could be heard. I leaned up to him and spoke in a soft voice once more.

"I don't need to when you are right here."

And in an instant, my left hand flew out and stuck the hidden dagger into his neck. The second guard went to see what was wrong, only for me to let his friends body drop dead and lifeless. I slung my katana up to cut the man from the nape of his neck up to his chin, and through his jaw bone. After he fell to the ground, I use my boot and slammed down on his throat. Crushing his windpipe, and making no sounds as he struggled to stop me.

His body went limp as I then walked towards the floor. Opening the door to see three more standing waiting for me.

It took prehaps a minute or two to find the Senator. A scowl that could cut crossed his experience worn face. Senator Idreth looked like some beached marine mammal. Joyfully watching some mindless holofeed, the contents of which Macharius never took in. The displeasure of knowing this human mass was something he'd dealt with for a decade. He was less annoying back then. Maybe because he was a greenie in politics so he watched his toes. Certainly helped but the man to be behind tonight's murder, yours truly, was still in the military. The duty meant he only put up with him on rare occasion. That of course changed when he entered politics.

The door was not silent for Akuma's entry. This alerted the three guards to someone entering the premise. Two of them kept on with their conversation while the third took to seeing who was there. They weren't on high alert or anything. Other guards and personnel were constantly moving through the floor. It was realized all to quickly this was an intruder. The sword dripping with blood was a dead give away. "Intruder"! The guard began reaching down to his blaster with haste and fear.

I muttered a curse under my breath as the door opened rather loudly, and even more so that a Guard started yelling intruder. I had to end him quickly, as well as his buddies from the distance we were at. There was no hand to hand combat here. Instead, I drew my sword and threw it. Using the force and telekinesis to keep it straight in line to pierce the man's chest, through his heart, and out his back. I took both of my hands and pushed with the force. Using the keys and weapons on the now dead man to be thrown at them. The baton the guard had, smacked one guy in the head, while a set of heavy looking keys sent right for the groin of the second one.

By that time, I had already reached them, and used a punch to the throat for one, and my hidden blade on the under side of the jaw for another. Now there really was blood on my hands. Drawing in my hidden blade, I opened the nearest door, a janitors closet, and threw the men in there. Taking my sword with me, I moved to a dark corner of the building. With the lights out, and my skill to vanish into thin air, almost, it seemed as though I literally did.

Waiting here till others arrived for a short time. maybe to see if anybody heard the man scream bloody murder, and to make sure the coast was clear. Oh this was going to get hard, Instead of waiting, I moved from shadow to shadow down the hall, trying to get to the man in question.

Ohh he was enjoying this. His assassin cut down the guards with ease even after being detected. She was fast, perhaps sloppy by having to kill them but even the best assassins run into unknowns. Macharius flipped cameras back to the Senator. He was still lounging. Blissfully unaware of Akuma's presence. Things could still go off without a real hitch here if the pace was kept up. More security forces would be on their way any moment if they'd ben paying attention to the feeds though, leaving a small window to make the kill and escape. A bit less than five minutes if the last reaction drills times were accurate still. Mach switched back to Akuma's location just in time to see the bodies being ditched in a closet. Tick tock went his thought.
