  • Transceiver
  • Power cell
  • Plasteel
  • Aluminium
  • Circuit boards

Special Features:

Strengths:
  • Built-in rangefinder
  • Can be synched with HUDs
  • Hybrid sight (can be used in both long and short engagements)

Weaknesses:
  • Automatic arming and detonation component only compatible with Orion Corporation ammo [explained below]
  • Relay between the sight and HUD/ammo can be jammed or disrupted
  • Ion attacks can sort-circuit the electronic systems

Description:

At a first glance, the ADS appears to be a standard hybrid sight, featuring a standard red-dot and optional 4x scope that can be used when and if necessary. If the sight is used on basic slugthrowers or blasters, this is essentially all it is, albeit it does feature a laser rangefinder with an operational range of 1000m. The rangefinder can be linked to any HUD system via a wireless connection, allowing for easy access of the distance information. However, when the ADS is used with Orion Corporation weaponry, specifically the airburst ammunition [to be announced soon], it becomes something more entirely. The built in laser range-finder is able to mark and distinguish targets up to 1000m away, it then transmits this information to the airburst ammunition loaded in the chamber. This arms the mini-warhead within the ammunition and provides the information for when the detonation should occur relative to the distance from the target.

Due to the small size of the scope and the electronics within, it can only be fitted with the most basic of transceivers, because of this it has no defence against jamming which can cause the entire system to cease operation. If this was to occur, it would become a basic hybrid sight with no other functions. The systems of the sight function using a power cell, found in the main body of the attachment, and thanks to the small amount of energy required for the device to function the power cell has a long lifespan before recharging is required.
