A Common Hire

Kay-Larr

It had been a while since Kay had been in touch with [member="The Matador"] . The Mandalorian was one of a few of his knd to hold her with any regard of respect. And for that he had gained some respect of her own in turn. Treat others the way that you want to be treated....That was her way of things.

Usually her sector of space was peaceful and untouched by the wars that ravaged the systems around them. Yet now that couldn't quite be said anymore. The war machine had awoken pirates and criminals into invading her territories and causing trouble. Some had even gone so far to come after her, leaving her husband to fashion her a set of light armour to wear at times away from home, as well as including a personal cloaking device. As Kay was now with child and a little more than halfway through her pregnancy, her safety was paramount.

And that was why she sent for The Matador to come to the Palace. Of course her plans for him weren't to go as far as being a personal bodyguard, but for something else. She needed him and his nomadic ways.

Kay sipped her tea in her office, going over some contracts and legislation while she waited for the Mandalorian to arrive.

It had been a long time, and much had changed. The Matador had given up on his cause to seek out the scattered Mandalorian peoples, to he saw that their strength had faded and could not better serve the Tol Varen nor was it the wishes of the Keeper to do so.

The Matador had arrived, lead to an entrance by an escort of Commenor's finest Guards. Commenor didn't look very different however, it had been close to eight or nine months since he had last saw the Queen of Commenor, quite some time. Still, the grandiose nature of the Commenorian peoples artistic way of living seemed to be in a static state of being. These thoughts danced across the Matador's knotted brow under a crimson helm. The door ahead of him was ceramic, a large circular shape that shifted into transparasteel covers that folded into triangular shapes, shaded in a light purple that allowed him to see the beginnings of an ornate office room.

The door shifted open, and the Matador and [member="Lady Kay"] saw each other then, one an armoured Goliath carrying Oribuir on his back, where as the Queen sat at a chair in her office, sat back comfortably and with a cup in her hand pressed against rose lips. Small blue holographic screens and an ornate desk separated them. The Matador stood silent, and gave a courteous, but short and reluctant bow.

Kay looked up as [member="The Matador"] finally arrived. She was onto her third cup of tea for the afternoon by the time he had stepped through the doors. And she was nearly finished her holo-movie too, by wich she had turned off shortly after his bow. It was a mystery one of course, one of the ones filled with puzzles and conspiracy theories. She was always a fan of those types of films.

She finished her sip and lowered her cup to her desk. The man kept his helmet on. Some Mandalorians were like that. It made her wonder if she had ever seen his face. She couldn't quite recall. But more than likely if she had, she'd recognize it. "Thank you for coming. I hope that your trip here was a pleasant one."

Kay got to her feet, moving around her desk so that she could sit on it's edge while she spoke to him. One can only sit for so long. Her baby bump was clearly visible now, but she made no effort to bring up the topic. There were more important things on her mind. "Where have you been travelling as of late? I've heard about the Mandalorian civil war. Whether or not it's over, I don't know. Were you involved in that?"
