A Commenor Goal (Theseus Reneun and Orex Mauda)

Theseus was only about two weeks into his time at Commenor Palace. During which the force had giving him a vision. A vision which Theseus did not take lightly, and as such. Had gone out of his way using his holocommunicator, and with some difficulty. Found the means to contact a prospective disciple of the force. Which might serve him well as an apprentice. [member="Orex Mauda"] was a perculiar individual. Theseus recognized in him a similar internal struggle, Theseus had buried down deep inside of himself. Not because he lacked the grudge, though because he had higher goals to achieve by this point.

On that note. Theseus had sent out a brief message. ~If you find yourself wishing to learn the ways force. I can guide you down a path. Meet with me on Commenor, within the next five days. There we shall discuss my expectations you will have as my student.~

If the force willed it to be so. Theseus would be here at the space port. Awaiting his new apprentice. He had promised [member="Lady Kay"]. For this meeting he would be personally attending the ships arrival. In conjuction to her customs guards she had roaming about the area. Running security checks, and taking inventory of shipments. Making sure that the space port did not have any breaches. Which could jeopardize the safety of the world. The last thing Theseus was going to allow for. Was the finding this individual was here to cause harm to the system.

Finally. Finally I was on the path of Power. 5 years since I gave myself to pain and hatred. 5 years since I left a man a twitching, contorted mess on the floor of his own suite. I've been stagnant save for my studies and alchemy but now, I'll be meeting with a man who shares my passions. A man superior to me whom I can realise true potential under. Fantasies of the future flashed before me.

The connection I felt with [member="Theseus Reneun"] was one I responded to instantly. I knew what sort of opportunity had presented itself and I wasn't about to waste it. Boarding my HWK - 290, I headed to Commenor to begin a journey I knew would be of my greatest benefit

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I landed at the Commenor Spaceport and sat thinking. I meditated on Hatred and Pain. Emotions were something I knew had the potential to disrupt me but I'd studied enough Sith and Dark Jedi material to know what power Emotion can bring. Myself, I was an internal war of thoughts and feelings and felt that to refine and control this was something of a priority. Yet as much as I thought of what to make of this training, I knew this was a futile effort. What I go through is not up to me. With that, I awoke from my stasis.

Walking to the back of the freighter, I lowered the ramp and got into a calm state of mind. I felt my lightsaber, running my fingers around the rough texture and warped metal.

The ramp lowered, I walked down to the bottom and stood, waiting.

Theseus tapped his foot on the ground. Getting a little bit impatient. While he waited for the man whom he was to teach. To proceed in making his appearance. Finally, soon enough Theseus observed the individual leaving his craft. While he glanced to the customs guards. Then approached the individual. "I stress you show restraint for the next few moments. These men have a job they must execute, and I will not tolerate with their jobs being hindered or rendered void." Theseus expressed in a relatively neutral tone. While the customs guards began a routine inspection. To be certain that the individual whom Theseus had summoned did not possess means to try and overthrow the government here. While Theseus crossed his arms. He was clearly no more pleased that this process was required than what [member="Orex Mauda"] likely was.

When the customs guards completed their inspections. Theseus sent them off. Then spun on his heel. Motioning for his new found apprentice to follow him back towards the palace. "My name is Theseus. Though you shall address me as Mentor, Lord, or Sir. I do not care for title of Master. I am not a Sith, and I am not a Slaver. Though do not be misguided that at any point, I will tolerate my instructions being intentionally defied, or failure. I can be patient and fair. Though I can also be quick to anger. You would not like my temper. I expect loyalty and results in return for my offerings of knowledge, skills, and secrets." Theseus continued as an introductory course to what was expected. Kind of the 101 syllabus to his newfound title in regards to this apprentince.

"Now then. As my apprentice. What are some of your personal aspirations, where do you see yourself going?" He inquired while he walked along. "Why did you pursue the darkside as a path?" He added. Wanting to understand the man whom he had the potential to sculpt. He needed a rough idea who he was working with. To consider routes which would produce results, paths the man might struggle with though should overcome, and areas Theseus would need to re-evaluate giving time.

Walking to match [member="Theseus Reneun"] 's pace, I thought carefully on the questions I was asked.

"Though I despise the Sith almost as much as the Jedi, I hold an admiration for the intelligence displayed by Palpatine's moves to secure his position as Emperor and kill off 99% of his enemies, all in one motion. With that in mind, I have aspirations in the Galactic Political Machine. If I'm honest My Lord, Emperor of a unified Empire is what remains at the forefront of my mind".

"In regards to the Dark Side. I'm no slave to it as I was a slave to the scum on Coruscant. Granted I'm but a child compared to those with true mastery but the Dark Side of the Force will always remain my tool. I pursued it because it gives me exactly what I need. I needed to leave the cesspit lower levels, And so I used the Dark Side to exact my revenge on every slaver who owned me and build myself a life from the dirt. The light is nothing but thought and safety. The Dark however, is Power and Potential."

Walking with my newfound mentor, I thought of nothing but Strength.

Theseus listened and observed. Whirlling around his thoughts. On his young disciples takes. "Your aspirations are truly impressive. Do yourself well never to forget your goals. Though always be prepared to think. What next, and what shall I become if my plan doesn't fall through. Else you will find yourself. Roaming the worlds with no purpose aside from seething." Theseus said and shook his head. Before he turned to Orex. "I also feel a philosophical adjustment might be in order." Theseus noted and approached the palace.

"Think not of every jedi, and every Sith as an entity you hate. Instead hate their orders and hate their beliefs. Never enter into any interaction with them. Already tagging them an enemy. Unless they enter the interaction having marked you as such. Like in a combat scenario. By establishing a peaceful entity as an enemy, you are forfeiting a potential asset. An asset forfeited is an asset wasted. Never waste an asset until you have no choice but to declare it a liability... And only do so when pressed to no choice. Even the driest of fruits may produce a hint of juice if squeezed enough. This is my first teaching. You will find it more difficult to apply in action. Then in philosophy." Theseus told Orex while they entered the building. Theseus headed to his room expecting Orex to follow. As it was also his study area until he was trusted enough to move up in this place. Besides it was a relatively sizeable room.

"My second lesson is as follows. You were right to describe the dark path as a tool. As all sides of the force are nothing but tools to us. I will state your take on the differences between the lightside and the darkside is in the right direction though misguided to some slight flaw. Though I will shape your use of the darkside to mastery. I will too train you philosophies and practices of the lightside. If you must. Think of it only as a means to better understand your true enemy. If we were to apply the elements between the two sides. Think of the light side as water and earth. While the darkside is air and fire. Lightsiders are solid, stable, entities. Who are slow to stir, but firm in their roots. In combat they are the raging river. They understand what they can move, and what they must move around. When dealing with a lightsider in a hostile manner. In philosophy and action. Be swift but not rash. Be indomitable though not over confident. In combat force them to see you as the entity they cannot push over, and then make sure you are versatile enough not to be passed by." Theseus took a break to let Orex absorb all of this knowledge.

"Darksiders are of course the opposite side of this. Our advantage is unpredictability and witt in our beliefs. No two darksiders are the same. No two darksiders can be viewed as such. Else you will find yourself caught in a tempest and ragdolled around. In battle the darkside is a fire. Understanding that giving it enough fuel and oxygen, will allow it to burn through whatever is in it's path. When dealing with another darksider. Strike the eye of the storm and ground yourself there. Understand their cores and desires and you can dismantle the storm inside out. In combat suffocate their oxygen, cut off their fuel. Turn their strengths into your own and exploit their weaknesses. Do you understand all that you have been told?" Theseus spoke and looked to [member="Orex Mauda"] sternly.

I briefly drifted over everything taught to me and formed a summary.

"I understand. In venture, maintain contingency. Think of all things with neutrality and in combat, stand firm against the light and use the dark against itself."

I stood with my hands clasped behind my back, thinking. Then turned and faced [member="Theseus Reneun"]

"Allow me to explain myself further. My hatred for all things will not, as per your teachings, impinge on my interaction with others. The Jedi and Sith however, plague my mind incessantly. You see, my political aspirations are ones that end in neutrality. Neutrality brought forth by both the Domination and Utilisation of both factions. The Jedi and Sith have been mortal enemies for millennia upon millennia, without change. They suffer from cyclic conflict brought about by their equally stupid motives. The Sith fight. Always fight. Eachother or others or themselves. They gain coveted knowledge yet keep it for themselves and kill any who have more. This has kept the Sith at a constant baseline. One that stops them from ever holding great power in the Galaxy. The Jedi are quite the Opposite. They gain knowledge and maintain an altruistic philosophy that allows them to share and better their fellow citizens. This gives them easy access to positions of power and, as we've seen, control of the Galaxy that far outranks that of the Sith. But the Jedi are destroyed and rebuilt by their opposition constantly. They are meek and lenient. They have no strength other than that of their mind."

I paused to allow my point to formulate in my Mentor's mind

"From an outside perspective, both Jedi and Sith seek a paradoxical balance that has them on top. The only true balance is the use of both powers equally. An Empire directed by one with no affiliation to either Jedi or Sith, based fundamentally on the greatest principles of both Jedi and Sith. In the name of Balance; An altruistic Empire that maintains order through power and aids its citizens by allowing a greater movement of knowledge. This is where my passions lie."

Theseus listened to [member="Orex Mauda"] while he further dived into where he was coming from. "I see. It seems I myself misjudged you to some extent." Theseus admitted and bowed his head. "I admire you a twinge bit more now. Though I have similar reasons to despise both orders at a core. My trouble is more the manners in which both orders place up false masks. In two different manners of the sense." He admitted. "I wish to see sometime this facade of deception stripped down, and tossed into the fires of judgement. Those who stand true, and are honest may live on. Those with lives built on lies may not, unless willing to reveal their hidden truths." Theseus expressed and hummed. "A goal which someday might be a reality. Though by no means one which will be easily acquired."

Theseus seemingly materialized his blades into his hands. Then set one beside himself. Sending his offhanded blade towards Orex. "Begin studying this. Be careful not to point the emitter towards yourself or me. Should you find yourself activating it intentionally, or on accident. Get a feeling for it's weight and balance. As well as find a spacial awareness for the blade." Theseus expressed. (His blades... http://starwarsrp.net/topic/61991-theseuss-dual-lightsabers/?hl=%2Btheseus+%2Breneun%26%2339%3Bs)"in the near future I might make modifications to these. As well as help you craft your own. For now you should get accustomed to them. As the lightsaber is a powerful tool, and a statement."

I settled further into my companionship after establishing a shared ideology. "A goal which someday might be a reality", My mentor's words reverberated in my mind. A passion was certainly growing.

I took the exotic hilt and observed its every detail. Gripping it in one hand, the difference between this and my own was drastic. Balance and a certain elegance. Something my own lacked."Thank you My Lord. Years of study and yet I have never held a true saber. This will aid me greatly."
I attached the hilt to my belt and bowed my head. "And now?"

Theseus contemplated the question [member="Orex Mauda"] posed to him. While he watched him attach Theseus's blade to himself. Which was a good thing. The longer Orex had his weapon. The more accustomed his apprentice would be to a blade. When it was time for him to acquire his own. Plus, one was never certain when a conflict might arise. Theseus wanted his apprentice to be appropriately armed for such encounters. He would get his lightsaber back in time most likely.

Theseus thought about a good place to begin. "How would you like to most implement the usage of the force?" Theseus asked Orex. While he clasped his hands behind his back. Beggining to pace as he kept his gaze focused on Orex. "I can train you how to better yourself, or how to bend your environment and life to your will. Albeit in gradual steps for either case." He noted as he thought. "The later is my personal specialization. If I am to engage in close quarters combat. I will of course use the force to aid me in close quarters. I dual wield my blades for a reason. I still prefer striking an opponent before they come that close." Theseus expressed his own personal tastes. Though left it to Orex which way he wanted to develop.

My thoughts went straight to the twitching mass of flesh that was once a slaver. Bones punctured through broken skin and joints contorted to angles most unnatural to any humanoid. My use of the Force so far had been to either analyse another being, or an indulgence in pain and rage. The only real USE it had been to me was exacting revenge on the scum I found in life and bending their bodies beyond any limit they once knew.

I drifted back into presence and with assertion, decided.

"I have bent to the will of life for too long. Under your guidance, Life will be to me what I was to the slaver on Coruscant."

My mind, always in the future, drifted again to the conclusion of my passions. Images of contorted death, life drained and order restored. To say I was excited is an understatement. I was thoroughly thrilled. For 22 years, my pain has had nowhere to go other than myself and the odd lifeforms I came across every now and then. But now, under real mentorship, my studies, my ambitions, and my anger, could finally be put to use. And if [member="Theseus Reneun"] proved especially knowledgeable, so to would my political ambitions.

Theseus nodded his head. "Very well. I shall practice you in the arts of domination." Theseus began. "To dominate a mind is a task few have the aptitude for. In fact I myself have only implemented the art a few times. Not for lack of expertise in it. Though through the lack of desire to always act upon it. For me it is a very intimate practice. A passionate one. In which I assume the identity of my subject for a feelting glimpse only to consume them until there is only me and my will, for however long I desire to be in the cockpit piloting the vessel. This version though effective takes moments of concentration, and the art of dominating minds is often a process that takes a few moments and is ill suited for battle scenarios." Theseus relayed his accounts of using dominate mind. "For others dominating a mind is like molding putty, rewiring a control board, or shattering a window and replacing it. Most however lack the sheer overwhelming willpower, AND the ingenuity to accomplish these feats. They just cannot seem to grasp fully the concepts of what it means to Break a mind. Irregardless of how a task is done. Those that do sometimes do not have the sheer hostile intent to act upon it."

"I know I am giving you a lot of philosophy. You are probably getting sick of the lectures. Though all this is necessary. Without knowledge imbedded in your mind. You lack the corner stones in which to build an empire upon. To be wise, is to be powerful. My first instruction for you as a result. Is to learn the arts of telekinesis, elemental shaping, and telepathy. Learn to mold your environment, become it's master. Learn to get in touch with those around you, understand them, expose their inner flaws and raise their strengths. Then once you have a solid grasp of these concepts. Will I feel you are ready to master the art of Owning a person." Theseus expressed and then turned to [member="Orex Mauda"].

"Now then. Prove me to me you are an entity who's will refuses to be broken. Endure and when you are ready use the force, stand yourself onto solid footing, and meet my eyes showing me fear is your ally, pain your guest, passion your guide, and fury is your focus to a willpower that rivals my own. Either that or perish trying." Theseus instructed and gave him enough of a moment to comprehend Theseus' statement. Before he outstretched a hand and channelled his fury in an expression of pure control. He was the master of the force in this instance, and as the lightning streaked towards his apprentince. It was clear this wasn't Theseus' full power. No, he was not out to destroy his apprentice in a quick strike. He was testing him, and though this would kill if his apprentice did not overcome it and meet Theseus's eyes standing and unafraid. It was clear that it was the purest expression for it was crafted for. Balanced between fury and at the same time composure. Theseus wanted to also use this as a statement. That he would not inflict pain for the purpose of inflicting pain, nor a strike for the purpose of striking. He was doing all this with purpose.

Orex listened intently. Watching his mentor pace and lecture him, he was far from bored, he was absorbed in what was being discussed. The mention of dominating another's mind caught Orex's attention and as he listened, he fell into yet another meditative daydream. He listened to his mentor's description of its use and instantly formulated all the ways such manipulation of one's psychology could be useful to him. Politics was essentially the swaying of the public towards your goal. It's all propaganda, though subtle during peace and blatant during war. Domination of the mind reminded Orex of what he learnt about Sidious and his aptitude for manipulation, again throwing him into the future, with fantasies of Sidious-like mind games being played on all the useless factions the galaxy had recently become a cesspit for.

"Now then, prove to me you are an entity who's will refuses to be broken"

His mentor's focus changed, and Orex snapped back into presence. As his mentor proceeded, Orex misinterpreted, simply thinking about where he would go and how he would practice his use of the force. Thoughts of pain and anger grew. More slavers were going to die, and soon it would extend beyond simple slavers. Thoughts of revenge and past suffering fleeting across Orex's mind occupied him. Until his Mentor stopped and the stimuli of silence snapped Orex back again.

"Either that or Perish trying"

[member="Theseus Reneun"] Outsretched his hand and suddenly, Orex's naive assumptions disappeared as he understood what the test really was. Orex was weak in the force and could be easily overpowered. He had never practiced for what he was about to experience. But his mentor's words returned to his mind and he realised that this moment was when he would rise to his own expectations, or die, and have achieved nothing.

Time for Orex slowed as his mind tried to keep up with the current situation. As lightning crackled toward Orex, the thought of such an uneventful death angered him. A death wrought with disappointment and waste. His mind now thrown back to when he was only 17. He looked up to see Tyrn Malik, the Zabrak businessman who had bought him. Orex was back in that familiar setting, where his force sensitivity was sparked and his rage indulged. Tyrn was beating Orex, enjoying every moment. In these moments, Orex's fury grew with more ferocity than it had during those moments in reality. His anger simply grew, and just as it had in the Zabrak's suite, it hit a peak.

Orex turned his body away but outstretched his own arm to meet the streaking energy. His emotions flooded into his hand, like it had 5 years ago. But this time, instead of reversing a Zabrak spine, it funneled and remained in Orex's palm. But Orex was not yet deep within the force, and his powers were not quite a match.

Orex let out a shout filled with pain as his emotions ran rampant through his body. In the same moment, the lightning struck his palm and collided with the energy supplied by Orex's suppressed emotion. He stood firm, but felt the breach as much as he had felt the glass from Tyrn. The lightning grounded with the flesh of Orex's hand and, like clasping a hand of fire, wrapped around Orex's fingers and wrist. Orex recoiled, alive, but with a hand as good as charcoal.

For almost a minute Orex stood, dazed. Soon, he looked at his blackened palm, solid as burnt wood. He felt nothing but pleasure. He ran his fingers along his cooked flesh and regarded this permanent wound as a Pazaak player might regard his winnings. It was a trophy. One he would treasure.

Orex looked at his mentor and knelt to his knee.

"And now?"

"Now we move to making it so you are able to become a master yourself." Theseus expressed. While he went back to walking down the streets. "I think the training grounds for the recruits shall do. It is spacious, and though it will eventually need modified for when we get to more intense sessions of training. It is sufficient for the beggining steps." He replied as he headed to the grounds which he had become somewhat familiar with.

Theseus waved open the doors. Then moved and motioned [member="Orex Mauda"] inside the area. "You see the table in the far corner. Begin by trying to move it to us. Do not damage it. Though act in the manner needed. To build your energy to the extent you can bring the table to us. By then we shall see how force fatigued you are." He expressed to his apprentice. Yes, force fatigue was a thing. Theseus could go a bit longer before the effects caught up with him. Though they affected him like any other.

Before he had even attempted the move, Orex's mind focused on the connection between the leg and the table itself. Orex was so familiar with contortion that his use of the force reverted instinctively to the joints of a being or, in this case, an object. But he caught himself before beginning the exercise and made the effort to focus on the object as a whole. Somethining quite new to him.

Orex outstretched his hand and felt the weight of the table. He began his attempts to lift it off the ground but gravity was proving the greater adversary. He stopped, outstretched his hand again and resumed his efforts, this time making insignificant, yet noticeable progress by dragging it along the floor, but only slightly.

Frustration was growing and Orex was feeling increasingly conscious of disappointing his Mentor, whom he could feel standing close behind him, watching. Orex stopped and took a moment to observe the table. He stared intently and soon, anger was replacing frustration. Instead of considering calm movement, Orex imagined throwing the table into another being. These thoughts built his anger and soon he was concentrating on the collision of the table with a Rodian scum.

Orex quickly lifted his hand, glanced over the scenario in his head again, and without control, flung the table towards himself. A brief panic set in and he switched hands. Before the table connected painfully with Orex, he threw his blackened hand up and grabbed the table with the force. Halted in the air, a mere foot or two away from himself, he slowly lowered the table to the ground. He'd accomplished his task, but certainly not to any satisfaction. He didn't know what [member="Theseus Reneun"] would think of the process and remained with his back turned, awaiting any potential criticism.

Theseus examined the display. Instinct of his own almost pitched in just to stop the collision. Though he held it at bay. Letting whatever transpired do so. Theseus could have an equally protective demeanor. When he did establish himself to a cause. Just as he could be equally dispassionate towards individuals well beings. In fact only a few weeks ago he'd killed a navigator for merely delaying an arrival by a few moments, ragdolled a night guard for doing his job, and well.. The recruits were learning at a relatively quick pace was a nice way to leave that.

When Orex had the table on the ground. Theseus noted his apprentice seeking a scolding. Well at least criticism. To which the latter Theseus did have in store for [member="Orex Mauda"] though probably not the type he was expecting. "You completed the task. Degree of success is less relevant than success itself. Had you proved incapable of moving the table at all. We would be holding a much different discussion." He noted as he moved two chairs to the table. "Have a seat."

Theseus took a seat himself. He was about to speak when suddenly he noticed guards rush past the grounds. Theseus guard was shot onto high alert at this point. "I apologize. Something has come up." He noted and supressed his emotions. As he stood and looked to his apprentince. "Follow me." He stated as he headed towards the palace in a manner of haste. When he arrived one of the guards stopped him. "Sir, palace is on lockdown. Nobody in, nobody out." The man expressed in a tone of business. "You do know who I am don't you?" Theseus spoke in response impatiently.

The guard flinched at the tone. Some of the men had become all to familiar with Theseus' short temperment. "Yes, sir. Though unfortunately I cannot clear your entry into here. Orders from higher ups. A state of emergency has been declared." Theseus growled at the man. "Give me the name of who can clear me." Theseus spoke in a strong and frustrated tone. To whom which the guard did indeed provide a name. Theseue turned to his apprentice.

"I apologize. Though your training will have to momentarily be set aside. For now, your instructions are to report to the local apartment complexes." Theseus said as he fished around and pulled out some credits. "Here is enough credits to get you a room in the apartment complexes. If only for a few days. I need to figure out why this place is being locked down, and clear things up. Lay low, unless I or someone from the palace instructs you to do elsewise. In the mean time familiarize yourself with that lightsaber, and work with moving things with the force. Remember the lightning. It is not the fear of the force, it is the fear of not being able to master it."

Theseus turned and took the holocommunicator in his hands. Flipping it on and contacting [member="Darlyn Excron"] and waited for the answer. To get an idea of what was happening, why he hadn't been informed, and what he needed to do.
