Yasima and Aiden landed in their two-seater N-1 not far from the farm that they had been sent to by their order. It had been interesting for Yaz to get to know the guy a little in the cockpit of the starfighter as they made their several-hour hyperdrive trips to the farm world. It was late morning and long stalks topped with what looked like feathers blew in the wind beside the nabooian padwan girl as they walked up the dirt road.

This mission had been a matter for local law enforcement. A family of Chevin farmers lived here and their young daughter had gone missing. The police were investigating and the current assumption was that she had wandered off into the fields and was hopefully going to be found curled up lost and hungry. But that didn't sit right with everyone, and the father had been asking more questions trying to get answers. What complicated matters, a fact that had only come to light due to dad's own investigations is that the child is force sensitive. This was where the two young Shiraya members came in. The order wanted to aid in the investigation to ensure there wasn't more to this than met the eye. Yaz looked back at the much taller padawan and smiled as she thought about their roles in this. He was an older padawan which was why he was probably being tasked with something like this, she was younger so would likely need to defer to him, maybe even treat him like she might treat a knight if she was on a mission with one of them. Maybe, maybe not. Yasima was a bold and confident girl and her life growing up as a Hunter-gatherer gave her wisdom beyond her years, she liked to think that was why she seemed to get a little more leash than some of her peers of similar age.

"What do you think? Have a snoop around first or just knock and speak to the parents. I've never met a Chevin before, they're kind of wei...." She shut herself up, weird looking was rude and these people needed their compassion, not their judgement.

It seemed this was happening more and more often than not. With the Refugee crisis ongoing, there was an influx of people fleeing from various systems. And with those that fled were farmers, smugglers, everyday people trying to make a living. And with those that were fleeing there was several criminals in the works. Not just smugglers, and the like.....

Murderers, kidnappers, the worst kind of people.

The systems that were flooded by refugees were taking in these individuals and those that called their planets home. They were left with the brunt of the damage. And local law enforcement was not enough to help keep the peace. Aiden was quite pleased that they sent two Padawan's on this sort of mission detail. It just proved that there was a great amount of trust in them both. And he was sure they could keep each other out of trouble.

"What do you think? Have a snoop around first or just knock and speak to the parents. I've never met a Chevin before, they're kind of wei...."

Aiden chuckled lightly as they stood before their home. "I know for sure we should keep the weird looking comments to ourselves." The Padawan whispered as he looked over to Yasima. He probably would've said the same thing to be quite honest.

Aiden just knew that they could get pretty tall....

"We should probably speak to the family first? Then we could look around? It might set the wrong message if they see us around their home without talking to them first?" The Jedi Padawan recommended as he glanced around before looking back to Yas.

"And before we begin, we are in this together. Anything we decide to do should be done as a team." The Jedi Padawan said with a nod and giving her an encouraging smile. Which he had been a Padawan longer, he was still just that.

The Shiraya Order had chosen them both for this, which meant they were both equally trusted to succeed with support from one another.

"Let's do this, partner." Aiden winked at her, and glanced towards the door.

Yasima blushed, pretending not to hear the whispered comment but then things moved on and she could get to work. She nodded with a smile on her face as he declared them equal and even offered her fist for him to bump as they walked over to the large metal door. It had seen better days but farmers were pragmatists, did it close, did it keep the heat in and the varmints out, yes, then that's enough.

Yaz rang the doorbell and waited. "I don't think I could live so far from society. I mean, I'm a forest dweller myself but Theed is close enough I can get there in a couple of hours." She made small talk until the metal door opened loudly and the large face of the Chevin greeted them. He seemed pleased to see them arrive having been told that the order would be sending representatives to aid in the search.

"Come in, come in we have human tea."

He hurriedly offered them in where his wife and a small cot waited for them with a beaten-up urn of hot sweetened tea. Yaz didn't sit on the bench but walked over and stood by the mantle looking at pictures. She thanked the woman as she was offered a cup, it looked rustic and had bits floating in it. It reminded her of home.

"I'm Yaz, this is Aiden, we're here to help you find daughter, Gelda, right?" The man nodded back in agreement, he kept looking at Aiden, not familiar enough with Jedi to understand that a girl barely into her teens could be considered a capable operative.

"It's Gnelda, it's not you, the authorities keep missing the en in their paperwork." he responded. If anyone was paying attention, and no doubt the Jedi were, the word authorities gave him an aura of frustration. "She was tending the fields, checking the irrigators like she always does for us in the mornings then poof, gone." his aura switched to a sensation of guilt, like he might wish he had never sent her on this entirely routine task for a farmer's child.

As he spoke Yasima listened intently but also looked at the pictures of the girl on the mantlepiece and had to admit, as alien as the species was to her, they were a cute family.

"I don't think I could live so far from society. I mean, I'm a forest dweller myself but Theed is close enough I can get there in a couple of hours."

"I know what you mean, I've gotten so used to Theed. I don't think I could live so far isolated from the nearest city." Aiden's home, or well what was left of his home was just around two to three miles from Theed, that wasn't so bad compared to this far out.

Although......

"I do know that you can see the stars pretty good way from the city, so it has its perks I suppose. Depending on what sort of lifestyle you lived." Aiden chuckled lightly, and he cleared his throat just as the door opened and they were ushered in. Aiden's eyes began to scan things in the living area, the small bench, Aiden opted to take a seat as he was offered the tea and he took a small sip. It wasn't too bad, surprisingly to him. But then again that really wasn't the issue here.

Finding their daughter was the highest priority.

"We are sorry for what has happened. And we will be doing everything that we can to find her."

He listened to what they had said, she was out the in fields and she was taken from there. That would obviously be the first place to look. He glanced over to where Yaz was, as he noted the pictures there. Getting as good of a memory of Gnelda as he possibly could.

"Is there anyone that would be looking to harm you, or anything of that sort?"

"We are simply farmers and we haven't harmed anyone before. We did report several crops that were stolen, but the authorities never found who it was."

The Jedi took another sip of the tea before setting it down and standing up to go next to Yaz.

"What do you think? Stolen crops, to a kidnapped child. That's a big jump...."
Aiden spoke as he looked at the pictures once more.

They had to find her.
