Private A Chaotic Reunion

Denon - Morning
Club Nevermore

How many years had it been since Kara last set foot in this establishment? Once upon a time the club had been a second home. The closest thing to it at least, after she had departed the orphanage. Her initial wandering after had led her to running into a group, or rather a gang. A bunch of teenage misfits on the verge of entering adulthood.

Yeah, that totally wasn’t a recipe for disaster in the making.

Surprisingly though, it wasn’t as awful as you’d imagine. But they weren’t much of a ‘gang’ per se. At least not in terms of what was common on Denon. Always opting to keep things on the low, never sticking their heads out too much. Sure things ramped up over the years, but it was always paramount to not take crazy risks.

Kara had never been too fussed about that, as it gave her time to learn and develop her skills. But as time wore on, she had begun to feel that same feeling back at the orphanage. Feeling as though she had learned all she could there. Albeit, back then there was a whole age/legal requirement for her to leave. But with the gang all she had to do was bid her farewell and disappear off into the galaxy.

Now she was back at their old hangout, intent on making use of old contacts.

Club Nevermore was a modest establishment, popular enough to be full most nights. But for Kara, she was here the morning after, where there were scant few in attendance. Just a couple maintenance droids and a familiar Twi’lek; Val, cleaning up the bar. The other staff were either in the back, or had gone home.

Kara had to refrain from laughing when she saw Val notice her. The blue-skinned Twi’lek’s eyes grew comically large. But he didn’t ask her to leave, instead he just turned away and focused on the bar. Perhaps he was hoping she’d leave, or was just a figment of his imagination. Unfortunately for him though, a very real Kara took up a seat at the bar.

Val, good to see you’re still kicking.

Kara, you’re...here. Why?

I’m looking for a job. And I was wondering if you had any ‘tips.’”

I…don’t do that anymore.” Val looked away, opting to focus at a particular spot on the bartop. That caught Kara’s interest, raising a disbelieving eyebrow at the Twi’lek. “I just focus on running the club now.

Hmm, that I find hard to believe, Valery.

That earned her a glare from the Twi’lek.

Being on Denon brought back memories. Lowri was not one to reminisce and linger on the past since the past was done, it was old news and explored. There was a need to focus on the here and now, to enjoy the present. Likely why she woke up with a massive hangover and unsure of where she even was. All she could remember from the previous night was being invited to a couple parties and enjoying a few drinks, that became some after parties and even more drinks. Blinking, she stood and checked herself in the mirror that was conveniently placed in the room, she needed to make sure that she didn't get any more drunk tattoos that were absolutely awful. It was difficult enough to cover the last lot that she got, having a tattoo that said "Only Sith know how to have fun!" on her wrist was not ideal.

Looking around the room, she grabbed her clothes and dressed in a rush, heading back to the place she had acquired when she first arrived on Denon. It was great when people when on vacations, they tended to leave their lovely large homes empty for guests. Arriving, she was able to get a quick wash and change into something more casual and daytime appropriate. Large sunglasses and a stylish cowboy styled hat that she had found in the home was perfect touches for the hungover thief. Checking her datapad for what was on her agenda for the day, she spotted that there were a few things that she could get done. It included looking to get some work. Credits were getting short and she was not looking to forgo food any time soon.

Wandering the streets, she could feel her mind thinking about when she was part of the gang around here, it had been awhile back now and fresh from the prison that was the coven. She knew one person would be the best to approach for information on work around this area, especially ones where she could get a few credits extra from a little harmless bit of side looting. Walking down the steps, her heeled boots announced her arrival to the club and looked around the place. It was a sad sight to see a club empty and without life. That wasn't how places like this should be treated. She was looking for a specific little wormy Twi'lek who owed her more than a few favours.

"Hey Valery! I was..." Lowri stopped and spotted an old familiar face already discussing business with Valery. Her lips curled into a sly smile, it seemed that the past was making a comeback and trying to stay relevant, interesting. "Well, been awhile Kara." Lowri chuckled softly, arms crossed at her chest.
