A Chance Encounter [Feena]

Zaiden shook his head with a laugh, "EAG, I'm going for a walk. Follow my coordinates."

Walking forward, he opened the door for his new companion. As they walked down the darkening street he asked, "So what do you want to do? There's plenty of things to do, as well as the test."

Not far behind them, the soft hum of his EAG Lightcycle following could be heard. The bike was one of his better ideas he had to admit.

What could they do? Well, if they were to be friends, he would have to meet her family, of course. And if he was who she thought he was, he would still need to meet them. After all, there was a chance that Keter could be his brother-in-law. And her children might be his nieces and nephews.
"Well, for tonight, I think a walk is a good way to start. Let me meet you, Zaiden. Tell me what you remember about us?"

Zaiden smiled, memories -blurs really- moving through his mind, "I believe you fell once. Sprained your ankle. I carried you home. A man, I don't know who, reprimanded me for allowing you to be hurt. Some kind women then came and helped you medically."

Scratching his nose he continued, "Another time I was ill, extremely so and the little girl - you I believe - would not allow anyone else to feed me. She was so angry when that man from before came back and made her leave to rest."

He continued remembering, but wanted to learn what she knew, "How about yourself?"

She couldn't remember it all, but the injury to her ankle made sense. She'd always been a little weak on one foot. A childhood injury that she couldn't entirely remember.
"father was furious," she responded slowly, "I think he blamed you. The woman, my nursemaid, was always kind to me. She took care of me. Mother dismissed her a year later. I don't remember why. I missed her."
She couldn't remember taking care of someone, but there was that feeling again. Maybe that was why she'd gotten into medicine? Why she'd trained to heal?

"I remember... I and a little boy, hiding under Fathers desk in the library. Mother was angry. I always remembered being alone, but somehow I knew that memory was not correct... There was someone else hiding with me the whole time. He would protect me when Mother would..."
She trailed off, looking up at the city lights.
"The gardens too in the court yard. I lost my scarf in the pond. That boy went after it. He was soaked to the bone!"

Zaiden smiled, he could remember the pond easily. It had been so deep. The scarf out on the middle, currents taking it further and further. He just jumped in. Without any thought...he even believed he remembered the desk.

"As far as I'm concerned your either the greatest mind reader, or my own blood. I can remember the times as your saying them. It's so strange. How could I forget.." he murmured.

She smiled, shaking her head.
"And the vase that I knocked over. Do you remember? You took the blame so Mother wouldn't hurt me..."
It was as if the deeper she dug, the more she found. Each memory gave way to more ground.
"Then there was the time... you disappeared.."

 

[Matreya]

"I remember..." He murmured. His "father" had taken him from his real family at the behest of his mother. He had been hiding in the hallway listening. She sold him...

So he had run. Before he could reach Feena, he had been swept up and put into a ship. Days later he was making a new life with a new family.

"I tried finding you. But they caught me..." He couldn't raise his voice, the memories were causing heartache..

The day she woke up and her protector was gone. She'd been awoken by the servants as always, dressed in a pretty green dress, had her hair brushed and curled... then she went o breakfast. The boy was gone. Nobody mentioned him. Nobody even glanced at the empty seat at the table. When she tried to ask, when she tried to bring it up...
"They made it seem like you didn't even exist..."
Over the years, she started to think he really was just an imaginary friend.

Zaiden smiled a small cold smile, "I wonder why they didn't want me..."

Shaking his head, "Anyways lets get on better topics. I'm an uncle?" This excited him almost more then finding out he had a sister. Even though Zaiden has always considered himself a ruthless killer, he always got along great with kids.

A good change of topic. Feena smiled and nodded.
"Yes. I have two girls and a boy. Cecil the oldest, Lucinda's a few months younger, and then Felicity is 18 months old."

[Matreya]

Zaiden smiled, "I like the names. Very original. I would very much like to meet them sometime."

Looking to the sky, Zaiden wondered why he never had tried to settle down and make a family. He had met many women, all of whom could have been good matches for himself. But it still was sad..a large portion of his life is gone and all he had from it was money and a set of skills.

Her smile only widened at his complement on their names.
"And your brother-in-law as well. I think you would like him. His name is Keter."

"What kind of a man is he? What are his morals?" He questioned, he wanted to know in case he needed to watch the man. Zaiden already felt protective over Feena. She was family. Anyone meaning her or her children harm would be eviscerated. Plain and simple.

The woman let out a little laugh like tinkering bells. So concerned already.
"He is a good man. Fiercely loyal. Respectful. He calls me his 'Queen', and he treats me like one too. And the children... He is so good with the children, even though only Felicity is his by blood. He's always treated my other two children as if they were his own."
What else could she say about her husband? He was what she needed.
"He is strong, but gentle. Firm, but kind. He was my protector before he was my lover."

Zaiden trusted her word, but held his own regards. He would judge the man reasonably when met. Till then he would remain quiet.

"Can we go see them? Do you live nearby?" Zaiden questioned, turning to look at her as he walked.

She smiled sadly and shook her head.
"I'm only here on business," she informed him, "We live on our own little moon quite a ways from here, however, you are welcome to visit us once the test comes back. I would so like you to meet the family."

 

[Matreya]

"Well let's get the blood sample started then." Zaiden said, pretending that he didn't cringe when saying that.

He really had to get back to his client..

Blood sample. She stopped where she was.
"Give me your finger," she instructed, holding her hand out to him. In the other, she had pulled out a small pocket knife from her purse. Just a little prick, she could take it right to the temple.

Zaiden held out his right hand with a relieved sigh, " Thanks for not using a needle. I can take this waay better."

 

[Feena]

Just a little prick. A little blood. That was all it would take. She took her sample with all the care and efficiency of a medical professional.... at least as professional as she could be taking a blood sample with a knife. it wasn't like she carried needles in her hand bag.
"There. That wasn't so bad, was it?" she pressed her own finger to his wound, healing it, "now, I'll take this to the lab at once. And I'll need your contact information. How about we meet back here once I have the results?"
