Aurum
A hidden lake somewhere in the forest beyond Aurum City
The sun beat down upon the forest on Aurum’s surface. However, the thick green canopy of trees filtered out most of the heat, leaving the clearing beneath pleasantly warm. The sweet, soothing bouquet of flora wafted gently in the slight breeze, accompanying the golden specs of pollen and dust. Complementing the atmosphere was a soft symphony of bird and animal calls, as creatures sang to one another across the forest floor and through the trees.
It was easy to see why this was one of Sahna’s favourite places to be. It was a place of peace. Now, the young Togruta sat on the grass, the glittering blue lake stretching out before her. Whilst Sahna had in fact brought a blanket, it remained folded beside her, the young woman sitting instead on the grass. She’d shed her outer robe and shoes, feeling the grass between her toes. Next to the folded blanket sat a basket, filled with food and drinks. All in all, it appeared she had quite the pleasant afternoon ahead of her.
As she sat, her hands splayed behind her in the grass, legs stretched out before her, she cast her mind to those whom she had invited. She has surprised herself by inviting anyone at all; the fearful Togruta highly valued her solitude, especially in this place. But Jyn was her teacher and her first friend since she had found Aurum, and Ar’ekk, another newcomer, was someone she’d wanted to get to know a little better. She hadn’t had much of a chance to speak to either of late, as Ignis had kept her busy with training and meditating. But a free afternoon had appeared, with pleasant weather to boot, she had found there was only one way she’d wanted to spend it.
Sahna listened to the wildlife around her as she closed her large blue eyes, wondering how the two had reacted to the notes she’d left, and how far away they might be.
