"This isn't what you promised."

The small rodian in front of Sheva had the balls to look offended as the Dathomiri stared down at him. The man's green skin flushed with a thin sheen of amber as he brought his ever moist fingers to his chest. It was a gesture Sheva had seen across half a dozen worlds when Damos Quinn worked his charms on buyers. Victims would perhaps be more accurate, Sheva thought based on the prices the man charged.

"I promised to take you where you needed to go," Damos said, his galactic basic twinged with an Outer Rim drawl. He reached up, fluffing the overly large neck piece of his purple, green and yellow robes. "It was you, however, who failed to specify limitations on where that destination was."

"I didn't think I would have to tell you to avoid the karking capital of the High Republic," Sheva nearly screamed, her hair falling loose as she stomped a foot down against the durasteel landing bad. Damos grinned nervously as other spaceport goers looked their way. He stepped forward, gripping Sheva by her upper arm and turning her around and walking away from the busy stalls and hawking sellers. "They have Jedi here! You know what Jedi do to Nightsisters?"

"Sheva, those are just rumors. Well, mostly," he began, his voice low and warm, "My dear, you are a smart girl. You have been lost since you left Dathomir. Your money has run out and your...charming personality was not going to get you onto any other ships for free. You need to find your place and based on your talents when it comes to the art of the sale, it is not onboard merchant ships."

They came to a stop at the edge of the starport, and Sheva was almost placid in the man's hands as he turned her to face him. "You have that magic gift, Sheva. You wave your hand and objects fly at my head. You need a chance to learn to channel and control it before it controls you. Have I told you about that time I ran into the darned Sith off of..."

"Yes, I am well aware of your daring feats of bravery against the Sith," Sheva said, her voice tinged with a chuckle as she shook her head, glancing down at her feet.

The rodian nodded, puffing out his chest. "As you should be. The point of the matter, however, is that if you do not learn to control your gifts, they will, eventually, come to control you. Luckily for you, I just so happen to know a few people who are, in a word, boring, but they know their stuff. Ah, here comes one now," Damos finished, raising a hand and waving at an approaching figure.
