A Blade Is More Than A Weapon

The Reaper of Won Shasot
Naboo.jpg

Location: Naboo

The Rogue Knight breathed in deeply, held it for a moment, and then let it out. Finally, a moments peacefulness. Dax was sure he'd never felt such serenity in his entire life. He decided he'd have to come back here one day. Gazing out over the balcony at the lush greenery and endless waterfalls pouring into vibrant canyons, it was easy to see why so many visited Naboo. The place was gorgeous.

For once Dax had taken a moment for himself. Partially because he wanted too, but also because his blasted security droids kept noting how he was 'enduring elevated stress levels which could result in physical maladies.' Some days he regretted giving those droids a tactical medic program...Either way he was glad he'd come here. No reason he had to be all business.

A protocol droid was escorting a young, dark toned woman out of a main lobby. The droid was thanking her for her time and interest with it's master and even gave an out of place nice comment about her outfit. Senya wore a navy blue jumpsuit, with silver accessories on her arms, waist and shoes. With smaller and more comfortable heels, Senya stood about 5'10 and 5'9 barefoot. Her hair she decided to be a little more herself today and kept it in a frizzy afro. "Hmmm..." Senya said after the droid left her and the automated door closed behind her. That was her 70th..or 71st interview here on Naboo. She wasn't directly turned down for this one yet, but the young woman could tell after a while that her interviewers were just being polite when they said they would get back to her. When or if they got back it was usually a generic, automated holo-recording or net message that they've gone with another candidate, but they 'thanked her for her interest'...

"Just say yes or no...instead of all this prolonging." She murmured to herself, she left her home world a month ago and was starting to get disgruntled with her luck in employment. She was wondering what else could she do to improve her chances of getting hired, but frankly it came down to lack of experience. Her upbringing didn't offer too much in doing everyday jobs. Her planet was ruled by an obsessed, religious ruler who ultimately abandon her people leaving anarchy on Bastion for some time. Education on Bastion was very narrow sighted, depending on your family and status your life was almost per-determined for you. If you came from a family of doctors, you would most likely become a doctor. If you were the daughter of an Imperial Knight you almost had a guarantee of becoming one too.

Senya's father was worried about her following his footsteps, not that being a glorified body guard was dangerous work in what was required of you...but the lifestyle of it was surprisingly stressful. You were constantly under surveillance by your own peers, more so than the Emperor it would seem. The Fel Emperor was obsessed in monitoring his own people for any trace of the dark side. The slightest sign whether proven or not was dealt with swift punishment. Time passed after the Emperor vanished and the planet was still figuring out a system to work under, but for now it was governed by the people. Which Senya felt were just the wealthiest families on Bastion. Her father collected his pension and retired, but was unwilling to leave his homeworld. Senya wanted to do more than just sit at home. She had been enrolled at a university on Bastion, primarily focusing on her athletic skills. Her father's rank had once given her the chance to be outside the norm of Bastion citizens and choose her own path. But reality hit Senya as she neared graduation, she wasn't sure what she wanted to do. She was never picked up by any scouts and her degree in art was not providing many options. While Bastion was trying to figure it's self out, Senya felt she needed to do the same.

So here she was on an alien, but beautiful world. She walked through an open outside hallway and made her way to the balconies. This complex was connected to the space port as it's main headquarters for personnel. Though it lead to the center of the outside balcony which served as a mini park for employees and the public to enjoy. As she walked over to the sculpted railings of the balcony she eyed a young man who looked to be at peace with himself. He didnt look like a local though, he wasn't overly adorned in fabrics, jewelry or makeup. A bit rugged, but handsome-ish.

She looked at him and smiled, secretly envying whatever good day he was having. Resting her elbows on the ledge, she looked out onto the waterfalls pouring beneath them. Wondering if she should stay in Theed, move on to other parts of the planet or start completely fresh and go to another world. "Ugh..." She frowned, she invested too much time and research in Naboo to just go off and pick a new world. She needed something to take her mind off her worries. She subtlety checked the young man out through the corner of her eye again. He seemed good looking-enough, around her age, but no adding a random romantic entanglement would not solve her grief right now.

Dax's ears pricked up a little as he heard a small sound of either exhaustion or frustration. Which, he couldn't exactly tell. Voices could be decieving after all. The young man turned his head in the direction of the sound, turning away fro the ethereal view in front of him, to be greeted by another pleasing sight. A young woman, resting against the rails. There was something else as well though. Something about her, besides the obvious look of frustration which adorned her face.

Dax allowed himself to sink into the favric of the Force, ever so slightly. Suddenly everything around him felt a little more...alive. He could feel the energy of the birds that flew nearby, and the simpleness of the vines which grew beneath him. Focusing on the young woman, he searched for what made her unique. And there it was. Another Forcer.

"Rough day?" the Rogue asked of the woman as he surfaced from the Force.

Senya's eyes opened halfway, she turned her head around to see the young man had fallen for her trap. 'Got his attention now...'

She pursed her lips together, exaggerating the real boredom she's felt for weeks before responding, "Rough month." Still leaning against the balcony, she turned herself around, standing up a bit straighter as she leaned her curve lower body against the Naboo carved stone rail. Bad posture was never attractive for anyone.

"You seem to be having the opposite." She said, gesturing a finger at the man. "Share the love, why are you in such a good mood today? Don't lie, I can tell." She started to slip off her silver sandals. Gingerly nudging the shoes beside her, the stone pavement felt cool to her bare feet and a little damp from the waterfall beneath them. She closed her eyes, feeling the rhythm and the power of the rushing waters beneath the stone, through the pressured pipes. Naboo may have been rough in entertainment and employment, but it made up for in peace and beauty.

Dax laughed as the woman mentioned that he seemed to be having a decent month. "Oh lady, you don't even know how much my month has sucked." 'Sucked' would be putting it lightly. He'd been shot at, nearly crushed by a walker, nearly stabbed by multiple Witches...and that was only in two weeks...so yeah. 'Sucked' was a little bit of an understatement.

"Same reason you're taking off your shoes." the Rogue said as she took her first step onto the damp, cool stone beneath her. He turned to rest his elbows against the railings once more, looking away at the distant mountains and cliffs as he spoke. "This world has a way with people. It kinda just makes you appreciate your life a little more, and the moments like these doesn't it?"

Senya raised a brow when the man began to laugh, looks like she wasn't the only one who came to Naboo to get away from it all. Her eyes followed him as he moved to the railing, he bent leaning against it. Senya then turned, looking back at the balcony park. Through the corner of her eye, she inspected the young man's back-end. "Hmmm..." She hummed, thinking about other forms of nature that pleased her.

"Yes, it does have a way with people. As peaceful as it is, it does lack a bit excitement though." She closed her eyes and crossed her arms over her chest. Thinking back on what she would want to do to uplift her spirit. 'Dancing? Sex? Watch a holo-drama? Find a training gym to beat the Sith out of a training droid?' "Hmmm..."

She tilted her head to the side, smiled and said "Any suggestions for something fun to do?" She squinted subtlety at the man, not one hundred percent sure, but she could feel a some trace of Force sensitivity around him.

"That'd depend on what you like." the Knight said in response. He could feel the girls eyes on him. Not that he onjected of course. He turned his head to once more look at her. She was easy on the eyes.

"Theres always those famous Naboo Operas. Or their rolling fields." his lips curled back in a small smile, "But that's all kinda boring huh?"

'Yikes...this guy needs to work on his charm. Rolling in fields? Naboo has a beach across every street corner, what, does this guy HATE SAND or something?'

"Operas are nice, when in the right setting and with the right person. I'm thinking something a little more recreation related." She didn't even acknowledge the fields suggestion. He might have been joking, but it came off a little immature. "Theed, doesn't really have anything that I can think of to blow off steam."

"Been a while since I sparred with anyone who wasn't programmed. My hotel room is too small, but if you're interested we'll need somewhere with room to move." His smile did not falter...maybe hes younger than she expected. She decided to place him in the potential friend/punching bag zone for now. Maybe his combative skills could sway her opinion.

"Been a while since I sparred someone who wasn't trying to kill me." the Knight responded as he straightened his back. 'No saber, huh?' Dax thought to himself as he looked back at her. "I've got some extra sabers on my ship if you don't have one. And theres plenty of open space in the bay."

How Dax had acquired said extra sabers was...well each had its own story, neither of which he was particularly interested in rehashing. The one that he had built however, hung from his belt, the silver metal glinting in the sun, alongside a second, a little more artfully assembled than his own.

Senya was too busy starring at the man's rear that she failed to notice the lightsaber hilt hanging from his belt. 'He just happens to carry sabers around?'

"Now you're talking." She said with a wry smile, she picked up her sandals and slightly tilted her head to the space port. "Lead on." As Senya walked with the young spacer, she had to ask the obvious. "Why do you have more than one saber? If you're a Padawan I thought Jedi loathed multiple possessions. Or are you a collector?"

"Knight." the young man corrected her. He knew there had been few Jedi to ever attain the rank of Knighthood before reaching there twenties. Dax was proud to count himself among them. "And I'm not a Jedi. Not anymore at least. Lets just say the Order and I had a disagreement on how certain things should be handled so I left. As to why I have extras...well...they aren't all exactly mine."

The Rogue guided the woman to the spaceport, which thankfully was not too far away, only a couple blocks. As far as spaceports went, Naboo certainly had one of the more architecturally beautiful ones. Much like everything else in Theed, its marble walls were polished to a shine, so much so that Dax could see his reflection, even on the floors.
