Nimue Stormson
Empress of Effekt

Illum. A cold and almost desolately beautiful place. Deep in the Unknown Regions of the Galaxy this planet had one defining trait that made worth of any value: it was one of the few planets to find lightsaber crystals. It was here that the Jedi would come to create their iconic weapons of peace. Some rumored that the first of the Sith tried and failed to gain their own this way and resorted to synthetically growing their more infamous red crystals. But all agreed it was these crystals that gave the icy planet any true worth. And it was because of this that the Empress of Effekt bothered to come in the first place.
While Empress Nimue Stormson was often one to allow others to do the work for her this was something of a personal mission she wanted accomplished by her own hands. Yes, it would have been easier with all of her wealth and power to simply pay for someone to bring her the parts and crystals for a lightsaber, but after all her encounters and training with those of the Force, those that helped her become as strong as she was now, she garnered more respect and understanding for why they made such a harrowing journey and dealt with the trials of creating a weapon as elegant as a lightsaber by hand. To have done so any other way made Nimue feel as though her entitlement to having a saber was undeserved.
One private shuttle and a long flight from her home planet of Effekt later and Nimue had finally arrived Illum itself. She was escorted by a handful of guards, including the pilot droid for the ship, during the entire trip. Once they'd actually landed close to the cave entrance where the crystals would be she'd ordered them all to await her return. If for some reason she didn't by the next day they would know to come looking and find her, or what remained of her, one way or another. Nimue herself was dressed with leather straps around her arms and legs while having thin layers of clothing underneath a large furred cape and tunic. She almost looked like an actual Force User Apprentice, without any golden trinkets or a crown and the like added to her appearance it instead made her look more common than usual. Around her shoulder on a strap was a bag containing the parts for a unique saber design that she acquired from an old friend in the Sith Order. Only because the design itself had interested her. The Empress wanted to have a saber that would stand out from others after all.
Upon entering Nimue could already feel the odd sense of power coming from the cave. She began to wander through with only a flashlight to guide her through the darkness. At first the walls were bare, no sig of any gleaming crystals of the like as she'd hoped. Eventually, however, she was almost blinded upon entering one room where, to her amazement, she found the cave walls littered with glistening, shimmering colors of all sorts. Blues. Greens. Oranges. All an array of dazzling spectrum that she needed a moment to take it all in. After that she knew what she needed to do: find the one suited for her.
For what seemed like a hour Nimue tried to find a crystal befitting her needs. She knew the method the Jedi used, reaching out with the Force in order to find the one that almost called to them. For the Empress she'd tried that now-and-then but was too impatient about it. She wanted a saber and she wanted one that was suited for royalty, not only for combat purposes. Although her past had made it clear that having s saber would have been handy. In what seemed like a fit of annoyance Nimue had used a Force Push against one wall near a cluster of purple crystals. And then she'd found it. Deep in the core of scattered purples there was one that was darker. It gave a deep glow that almost pulled the light around it. This was it. This was the one she wanted.
After finding it Nimue found a spot on the ground and placed the crystal there before pouring out the pieces of the lightsaber. Kneeling in front of it all she closed her eyes and began to reach out with the Force. It was unclear if it was the lighter side or the darker that guided her hand but either way the pieces reacted. After a few moments of only wavering they began to swirl into the air. They connected one after the other and the other. Bit by bit the scattered parts became whole, the dark core purple crystal settling into the middle. And then finally it was done. Nimue's hand was outstretched and grasped the finished product: a cross-guard saber hilt. A satisfied if almost devious grin spread across her face.
