Or "Custom edition", this model of the venerable A280 blaster rifle is a Custom Edition built out of existing new-old stock parts kits and after market accessories.
Light weight due to the use of modern composite alloys, accurized for engagements passed 400 meters with the use of a reinforced barrel and emitter matrix, and with an expanded magazine capacity due to the use of modern gas and power packs. The rifle enjoys a rate of fire in excess of 760 rpm, with a 4 position selector switch with Safe, Semi, Auto, and Stun positions.
The attachment rail along the top allows for any number of after market optical sights and target designation to be installed, and the rifle comes equipped with a duel laser/light module attached to the right side of the main body.
While it is lightweight, and durable, the weapon shares the moderately bulky profile of it's predecessors and typically does not handle well in the hands of Non-Baseline Hominid forms.
There is also it's price, as since it is built upon existing new-old stock parts kits and many of the refits are unable to be made to older rifles with any significant levels of wear and tear, it remains at a rather stiff 3200 standard credits, locking it out of the average civilian's budget. Thus far it is to be offered to Select military/law enforcement units on a per-ordered basis.
