Strengths:
  • Infantry Armor: There isn't really much to say about the 5th Legion Armor. It is not designed to be impenetrable, not designed to be particularly stealthy of cumbersome, it is simply designed as a mass-produced, fairly sturdy armor that all together can protect from a variety of threats. The Armor was designed from the ground up to similarly resemble that of Stormtrooper armor, keeping much of the design, function, and even general aesthetic. This was to keep the Soldiers of the 5th Legion at ease, allowing them to have something familiar as to not make them adjust to anything new. As such, the armor of the 5th Legion is simply a standard Infantry armor, similar to what one might find in any military.
Weaknesses:
  • Infantry Armor: Just as it's strength states, the 5th Legion Armor is nothing special. It cannot withstand direct lightsaber strikes, it cannot deflect turbo-laser shots, and it certainly cannot deflect the force. The armor of the 5th Legion is not a special snowflake armor that will let you survive anything, rather it is the standard infantry wear that will stop a few blaster rounds, halt slugthrowers, and in general keep someone relatively safe on the battleground.
Description:
When the 5th Legion was founded on the backs of former Stormtroopers and One Sith warriors the decision was made that a standard armor would be needed. This armor would need to serve the same function and be relatively similar to what the troopers had worn before, mostly to keep the soldiers comfortable and allow them to adjust to the change that was about to happen.

As such, the 5th Legion armor was quickly designed.

Though the armor is slightly heavier then what one might expect from standard Stormtrooper Armor it is all said and done, pretty damn similar to what one might find in pretty much any group of semi-elite soldiers. The armor is a series of duraplas and plastoid plates placed upon an armorweave bodyglove, from there the armor is sealed and attached to a pack which contains ammunition, radio equipment, and several minutes of air. The armor also contains a water recycler, as is standard with many of today's armors.

All in all the armor of the 5th Legion is not really unique, even visibly it's design was taken from long ago held records of the Republic Guard of old. This was especially chosen by Aela, who has always had a fascination with history and the ideas of the past. The armor of the 5th Legion as such is then a cry back to the old days, though not many would know it simply by looking at it.

Of course, the armor also comes with slightly modifiable components that each soldier may pick and choose.

Some have bandoleers across their chests, some add holsters, and others choose to apply extra gadgets to their gauntlets. This is all left up entirely up to them, and Aela as the commander of the 5th encourages each of the soldiers to apply their own touch to their armor.
