Classification: Data Center
Location: Unidentified Icy Planet
Affiliation: Munin, Huginn
Description:
Knowledge is power.

To some that statement stands as the ultimate truth. For Sith and Jedi it is a saying that denotes strength. Those who study the force the longest gain the most knowledge, and therefore the most regard and strength. For Intelligence officers knowledge is the upper hand, it allows you to strike when you need to the most. For Military men it offers you the upper hand giving you accounts of the enemy, their tactics and stratagem. Yet for others, for others Knowledge is not only power, but it is a way of life. For these few, for those that hold knowledge as the only thing that matters comes a problem.

What do with all your knowledge?

Some would say it deserves to be given to the people. Some would say that it should be disseminated and spread, but others may not agree.

Munin and Huginn are two that disagree. They see knowledge not as a right to be given, but a product to be collected and sold. Something to be bargained and dealt with like any other aspect of the market. Ever since they were young the two Information brokers have worked hard upon their outlook, setting to the task and creating a network that created untold amounts of knowledge. Hundreds upon millions of names, billions of files, untold trillions of bytes of data. So much information that most would be baffled upon it's finding, much less it's storage.

Yet, for Munin and Huginn, storage was not only a thought, but key component.

Their entire business revolved around the selling of data, acquired through any number of means. This data once held by the two Brokers would have to be kept and cached, safely housed away from prying eyes. The answer came in the form of 3319, the first and only big project of its kind that the two brokers would ever undertake. 3319 to understate its significance is a Data Center.

A warehouse of knowledge.

3319 is located on an icy world whose name lays long forgotten in even the most extensive archive, buried two miles beneath permafrost and dug into the ice itself. The facility itself stretched a massive whopping one hundred and fifty thousand square feet, nearly all of it encapsulating a gargantuan pack of servers and network arrays. When one stands inside of the facility it's difficult to describe the vast nature of the Data Center itself, one aisle of servers stretching nearly as far as the eye can see. 3319 is almost entirely devoted to the simple task of storage, capable of housing thousands of Yottabytes of data. Due to it's sensitive nature 3319 is air gapped from the holo-net and other public connections. This makes slicing into the facility impossible.

Of course, being a massive well of computers and servers 3319 produces an enormous amount of heat. Though one might not think this is a problem in a place that is buried hundred of feet beneath the ice, it is still very much a concern. To keep 3319 cool and running efficiently the facility was constructed just above the flow of an underground river, this river flows continuously beneath the Data Center massive fans pulling in cool air from above the river through the facility. This creates a natural air flow throughout 3319, pushing hot air from the servers out into specially designed vents which split into two sections. The first section heads to 3319's residential area, keeping Munin and Huginn's living space cozy and warm. The second diverts to a natural crag of geothermal activity, disguising the heat from the datacenter as natural byproduct of the planet itself.

The facility is mostly maintained by hundreds of droids, however the Data Center does contain a small living area for Munin and Huginn. This space is smaller then one might think, only a mere two thousand square feet. It contains a Kitchen, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a living room. Though neither of the Brokers visit 3319 very often, they do make a habit to check on the facility every now and again, especially when uploading new data.

History:
Munin and Huginn operate unlike any other Information Brokers in the galaxy. Though most in their profession rely on a number of sources, the orphan duo are at heart both Slicers. This general tendency towards electronic forms of data means that they think and create sources of intelligence in a way that is not wholly unique, but somewhat unheard of in their profession.

Over the years Munin and Huginn had perfected their production of malware and spyware, programs that most consider distasteful annoyance. To Munin and Huginn they are means of gathering information, and as time has gone on they have created a network of programs to aid them in their business. This along with more traditional means of information gathering such as informants, spycraft, and any other number of tools means that Munin and Huginn gather vast amounts of information within a relatively short space of time. This information is quickly sorted through based on algorithms programmed by the orphaned duo, but even with most of it scrubbed the intelligence they gather takes up space.

So much space that they were eventually forced to begin construction of several data Centers.

At first they built decentralized centers all over the galaxy, small server housings within rundown buildings or old forgotten warehouses.

This tactic worked well for a time, but eventually they came to a realization that they were simply taking in too much. Their current Data Centers weren't enough, and as their operation kept expanding and expanding they knew something would have to change. Thus the creation of 3319 came into being. The vision was a simple one, a data center that would be able to house all completed information. The Intelligence that had been looked over, sorted, and then filed away. Construction quickly began, and through the manipulation of currencies and companies Munin and Huginn managed to obfuscate the building of 3319 behind a dozen charity research projects on the unknown ice world.

Once completed the project was scrapped from all records, and the droids that constructed it where quickly destroyed. 3319 would not exist, and the few living organics who knew of the projects would think it little more then research into endangered arctic species.

Intent: To Sub a Datacenter

I assume you mean simply slicing over the holo-net? I.e. if someone manage to find themselves on site, they would be able to slice it given the fact that they are there in the flesh? Or are you claiming that this facility is entirely slicing proof. I realize slicing is a catch all for hacking in star wars but I'd like just a bit of clarification on this.

Correct. That is what the term air gap means.

It is not connected to any external network. If someone found the facility and managed to get inside they would be able to access the data once passed encryption.
