1st Biannual Timeline Contest

The community spoke and here is our answer.

We will be pushing the official Chaos year from 851 to 856 with an addition to the Timeline. Since the Incursion there has not been a staff run event to focus a new update on, but there have been significant player generated events that have caused ripples across the face of the galaxy. We agree that there is no one better able to explain and do justice to these events than the people who participated in them. Any board events are fair game- the bigger it was, the more people it involved, the larger the ripples in the community at large, the more likely it will be chosen for inclusion in the timeline.

Every six months, if there have been no staff organized events, the Timeline will be updated to reflect the member generated content that has occurred in that time, and the Chaos timeline will be moved forward.

There are two categories:

Write Up - The short entry itself, explaining the event, what happened, and who was involved. These should be short and punchy- they are not meant to be comprehensive but an overview. These will be judged on things like: Clarity. Balanced Reporting/Lack of Bias. Accuracy.

Art - Submissions should be square pieces without a border (as that would be applied to the finished product). These should represent a snap shot of the event it is intended for. There is no hard size limit, as they can be resized to fit, but keep in mind the end images will be on the smaller side and some detail may be lost if they are submitted too large. These will be judged on things like: Clarity. Relevance. Visual Appeal.

Members may submit things to one category, both categories together, or may collaborate with each other to submit an entry that contains both. There is no limit to the number of entries you can make. Multiple people may submit entries for the same event. Staff will judge and compile, and admins will have final editorial rights. From the chosen entries, a new timeline will be created and posted.

Submit to this thread using the following:

Category: Write Up/Art
Submitters: Optional, if there is more than one person who worked on this.
Event Name: ex. Endgame, The Invasion of X
Relevant Links: If this event spread over many threads, link the primary thread. Additional are optional.
Entry: The write up and/or art itself.

We sincerely look forward to your submissions and creating the next step in the Chaos Timeline with you all!

So, this may be more than you're looking for, but...

Endgame - GA Edition

Coruscant
The focal point of the Endgame, Operation: Eclipse was ordered by Taeli Raaf at the launching of the Galactic Alliance Dreadnought ‘Vanguard.’ While the military and high representatives of the Alliance had arrived in system, the plan had dropped. GADF and Jedi forces moved in conjunction with Allied nations (CIS, SJO, RR) to defend the Jedi Temple, evacuating holocrons and personnel, including the Chief of State. Coren Starchaser and Taeli Raaf fought their grudge match while the entire plan and the latter’s ten-year long dismantling of the GA was unveiled. Sith Forces destroyed the Vanguard, and the resulting rain of debris and Force Storm destroyed the Jedi Temple.

Lothal
On Lothal, the First Order had arrived, intent on doing First Order things. But the Alliance was thrown into the whirlwind from the events of Taeli Raaf’s order and betrayal. Members of the GADF, SIS, and New Jedi Order met the First Order on the world. Determined to evacuate non-military personnel who were under the protection of the Galactic Alliance. Evacuating the civilians, the GA team performed a fighting retreat from the world.

Fondor
Caught unaware by Taeli Raaf’s sabotage of the FLEETCOM defense network, several enemy fleets converged on the Fondor Shipyards where several of the Alliance’s largest sector defense fleets were stationed in dry dock. Coordinated mutinies throughout the Defense Fleet crippled most command groups, sending the entire system into disarray. After the death of several prominent Admirals, surviving lower ranking flag officers rallied Loyalist forces together and staged a fighting retreat to the system’s edge and out of range of interdiction, jumping away with what was left of the Core Fleet.

Other Locations
Throughout the galaxy, allied nations were responding to the Order: Eclipse, Galactic Alliance forces were tied up dealing with identifying friend from foe, and helping to save that which they could on the worlds of Corellia and Alderaan. Assisted by loyalists to the worlds, Corellians and Alderaanians helped secure their systems and repel attackers.

That looks like a whole timeline just for itself! This is meant more as a single blurb for the whole event (which I recognize is difficult with one that had so much going on), but submit away and we'll see how it goes and what else is added!

Yes, we did.

So the community spoke, and your pushing the timeline 'forward' to the time everyone already quotes Chaos to be at time wise?

But even though we all were okay with the 15yr idea, you've decided to drop that to a total of 2?

Just... What?

This is some placebo. It has to be, you're giving us something by doing nothing at all.

Very lame.

While I don't fully agree with [member="Tathra Khaeus"] about skipping 15 years ahead. I can see the point that 2 years seems restrictive. So much has happened between the incursion event and the present that only 2 years makes all the manoeveuring on the map and IC seem really unlikely.

Just my take, I would say a 6 year jump be a more realistic approach to it.

Event Name: Liberation Of Commenor (Freedom for the Common Man) - Stages 1 and 2
Relevant Links: Stage One (Fleeting), Stage Two (Grounding)
Entry:

Commenor had been subjugated under the oppressive fist of the Sith Empire for nearly a year. The initial Sith invasion devastated the world, completely annihilating Munto City and its eight million residents. Since then, the Sith had set up garrisons on the world and mined deep into it for its natural resources. Only recently did the Sith begin to withdraw, concluding with an execution of all government officials except the Queen. Lady Kay remained in house arrest, carefully guarded and restricted to her castle.

But Commenor is a proud world, the cradle of the Commenor Systems Alliance and strong believers in justice. A large, wide-spread rebellion was quickly organized, with Commenor calling apon its allies in the Silver Jedi Order, Alliance-In-Exile, New Republic, and Mandalorian Empire to assist in liberation.

(Stage 1) A great fleet was created and swiftly gathered above Commenor to push back the Sith blockade of the world. The allied fleet was successfully able to push the Sith back, before dropping troops onto the city itself.

(Stage 2) Agents of the First Order had also infiltrated Commenor, though they had a much more malevolent purpose. They sought to eliminate the Queen of Commenor, which would be a serious blow against any hope in a galaxy still recovering from Endgame. However, allied forces who had landed in the city at the same time fought their way through the Sith defenses and entered the planet's palace to free Queen Kay. Tom Taff and Rick Kaloo intercepted Kyrel and Primat Ren within the castle, delaying them while Lady Kay attempted to flee. However, the Ren were able to slip by, and soon Kay, the Sith, and the Jedi were locked in an intense duel. The arrival of Mandalorians lead by Kaine Australis allowed the liberators of Commenor another break, in which Rick called in a dropship to pick up the Queen.

The ship arrived, and quickly departed the scene with the Queen, rising up to the safety of a Providence II-class Destroyer above. However, the dropship was intercepted by Tartha Khaeus's elite Brutes, extremely powerful and bulky warriors who succeeded in incapacitating the gunship, and nearly killing Rick. However, a Kossak-class Star Destroyer arrived in time to pull the dropship back up with its tractor beams, while Mandalorians came to the rescue again as Kaine Australis personally propelled Lady Kay up to the Destroyer.

With fighting coming to a close on and above the planet, Commenor was at last liberated.

EDIT: I was just informed that I'm missing a little bit, so this is still incomplete.

EDIT 2: This may still be incomplete, but I've added a lot more to the prelude to Commenor's liberation

Event Name: Dominion Of Mon Calamari
Relevant Links: Thread
Entry:

The Sith Empire's ruthless expansion caused their borders to grow exponentially, until they finally came apon Mon Calamari. They expected ferocious resistance, and brought in a huge invasion force in return.

The Sith dreadnought Behemoth, supported by hundreds of other warships, rapidly unleashed devastating fire apon the Mon Calamari shipyards and their defenders, inflicting irreversible damage. A small task force from the Galactic Alliance, recently reclassified as the Alliance-In-Exile, sought to evacuate important assets from the planet. They arrived shortly after the Sith invaders, and desperately dove down into the seas of Mon Calamari.

In the meantime, the Sith had begun to deploy their ground forces. Coral City and other Mon Calamari metropolises were pillaged and burnt, leaving little resistance behind. But the Sith still weren't done. Taeli Raaf unleashed gigantic Sithspawn into the waters of Mon Calamari, who quickly consumed everything around them. Feeding on the life of others, they marched into the Mon Calamari cities unopposed.

The Alliance Exile task force, through a stroke of luck, was able to evacuate multiple cruisers from the Ven estate. However, Rick Kaloo was forced to enlist Allyson Locke and Sko'saht to assist in bombarding and destroying his company's massive HQ, as it was feared that the Sith could repurpose it to produce dreadnoughts.

The battle ended on a harsh note, as the seas of Mon Calamari were poisoned and the Sithspawn continued to ravage the fauna of the planet. The remaining Mon Calamari population was quarantined and enslaved, forced to serve an empire for the first time in decades. Those lucky enough to escape the world fled in all directions, toward the Silver Jedi, Alliance remnants, and even Rick's Outer Rim Military Engineering.

Entry:

THE SIEGE -

Following the collapse of the Galactic Alliance, the Commenor Systems Alliance offered shelter and aid to those escaping war. This painted them as targets by the Sith Empire which in turn began to blockade the trade routes of which the CSA's economy are based.

In a controversial move, the Queen Lady Kay ambushed one of the blockades just outside of CSA space as a distraction while goods were smuggled in through old routes. This in turn brought some of the fleets of the Sith Empire, along with the Sith Emperor [member="Darth Carnifex"] himself.

Defence shields protected Chasin City and government buildings from the onslaught of turbolaser fire from some of the largest ships in the Sith fleet. However a betrayal led to a breach in the shield, giving the Sith forces the access that they needed to gain the upper hand.

The Queen of Commenor was soon captured by [member="Darth Prazutis"] while the King [member="Veiere Arenais"] narrowingly escaped assassination, only to be immediately hunted by the notorious [member="Koda Fett"] .

With the complete destruction of Munto City in mere seconds and the bitter loss of over 8 million innocent lives, the Queen surrendered Commenor to the Sith. A treaty was constructed, leaving her as the symbolic ruler, however the once peaceful trade planet was soon replaced with a regime of intolerance, cruelty and martial law.

THE LIBERATION -

After a year of occupation, the Commenori that remained loyal to the Royal Family and the CSA enacted their plans for liberation. Through secrecy and stealth, they managed to gather allies and supplies and soon moved to take back the planet.

The timing was pivotal. Given that Commenor was lightyears away from Sith space, the occupation proved to be more costly to the Sith Empire than they had anticipated. And so they began to depart, taking what resources they could in the process.

And that was when the fleet battle above Commenor took place. Allies from the SJO, NR, ME, ML, GA and joined the King in the battle. Many died and numerous ships were destroyed, including CSA's own Resolute. Severed in half, it crashed into the Twin Canyons on the planet's surface. But such sacrifice did not go in vain, for the Sith fleets were chased out.

On the ground, allied forces and Commenori citizenry alike attacked those of the Sith Occupiers that remained. In the process the First Order Embassy was attacked by mistake and soon a capture or kill order was placed on the Queen. However the FO diplomats were protected by the Jedi of all people, as they made their escape off world.

Back at the Royal Palace, the Queen was about to be rescued by her friends when they were attacked by Sith and First Order members and allies. The building was nearly destroyed in the battle, and soon the violence was moved to a large field where [member="Kyrel Ren"] tried to prevent the Queen's escape. [member="Kaine Australis"] and [member="Rick Kaloo"] were key elements that prevented her recapture. Through their efforts, and some difficulty, she was brought up to safety within a Destroyer until the battle was finally won.

Soon after it was over. Commenor had gained it's freedom after much loss. No longer the capital of a vast trade empire, it now sits cradled among two of it's allies; the NR and SJO, offering them safety and security should enemy forces seek to conquer them once more.

Thank you everyone for your contributions! Entries are now closed.

Unfortunately we didn't get enough of what we needed to run a full contest. However, we will take what you have all submitted here and use it as the basis of the new timeline entry we will build. Thank you all, and we will have something up in the next couple of weeks, highlighting the hard work and amazing stories that have been written on Chaos in the last year.
