Heir to the Emperor, Senator of Denon

Ayumi was able to get a grin though as she moved. "She is not wrong, the race was wonderful... one of the top races I have seen and will remember. " She said it while moving and the crowds were coming through as Jazmyn smiled where she could look at them and Ayumi spoke looking at Feng. "We can maybe set up a race if you want though she is going to be busy. The off season might be best and you would want to get used to Denon racers. We are looking to improve their safety measures with better shielding and armor for impacts or being able to graze each other." Ayumi saaid it while she looked over the black datapad with a nod of her head. "Padma would be able to give you some more information she handles the speeders and knows the racers."

Feng was beaming that her first date with Ayumi, her first date with anyone really had been or was going so well. She felt like she was floating on sunshine, as if she was bubbling with giddiness, warmth and good cheer. To cap it all off the race had been a good one, one worthy to remember, almost as if the Force was determined to make Feng's day a happy and memorable one all round. Feng never wanted this day to end.

Feng nodded.

"I'll coordinate with Padma during the off season then, you can come watch me race after I've seen you dance. Fair trade is fair trade after all." Feng smiled mischievously at Ayumi.

"But forgive us, we're keeping you from your other fans, I'm sure you want to go and celebrate with your team. Every racer needs a good team behind them in order to win. At the very least a decent mechanic." Feng laughed.

"So what next on this grand tour of Denon?" Feng asked Ayumi after Jazmyn had left.

"Well next we do have a few places that can be seen. There are the other districts. We finished the educational districts reconstruction so we can educate all of Denon, with advancements to the public transport systems which will allow travel for all and it ties to some of our others districts like the new hospital and financial district. The Corpo districts are made allowing a company to rebuild and lease a district as they need while the lower levels have been getting more refinements and improvements with structural supports to the districts. To support the new self sustaining modular rooms for homes and shops. It reduces the strain on the power grids we have been reinforcing to the planetary shielding and new skyline districts that will be going up."

Feng listened with affection as Ayumi spoke with obvious pride at her planets reconstruction. It was once again clear just how much passion, her love Ayumi had for the well being of her planet and her people. The dedication to which she brought her work for the improvement of their lives was inspiring. Feng was grateful that she had been assigned to her, not only for the personal connection that was growing between them, but for the fact that Feng was not totally naïve enough to believe that all politicians would show as much zeal for the betterment of their people.

"Where ever you would like to start." Feng assured her "but lets catch the famous public transport system to get there. That way we'll be seeing two sights for the price of one."

Truthfully Feng would feel more at home on public transport than she would being chauffeured around in fancy speeders. Travelling the galaxy with Master Wu they'd rarely had the means for such extravagance and public transport had become a comforting form of travel.

SHe gave a nod of her head to that and looked at Zahira and Cato. "I'm being kidnapped by my jedi body-girl-frienf-guard and will be indisposed." SHe said it and Zahira didn't make a face, Cato laughed with her sister as Ayumi was walking and the entertainment district of upcity opened wider. The train platform showing as it was all white metal and stone, black glass that absorbed light for energy and then there was the golden trim where she was walking. One hand going to check the chrono and giving a nod. "Five minutes." She said it and they had worked to try and ensure the trams worked on time with a precision and care. "We overbuilt and engineered them so that they would have multiple trams running every twenty minutes in case one was filled the people are not stuck waiting."

Feng giggled at the description of her kidnapping Ayumi, as well as feeling a little heart flutter at the description of Feng being her girlfriend. It was heart affirming to be described as her girlfriend to her staff, it made things feel official. Like this wasn't just going to be a magical wonderful fling, but an amazing wondrous beginning.

Feng smiled as she looked at the train platform and tracks hearing Ayumi inform her of their functions and efficiencies.

"My brother used to race on train tracks." Feng offered with a nostalgic smile. "He and the other racers would race the bullet trains across the tracks, cut in and out of it. Looking back it was foolish and dangerous, he could have been killed, but at the time I thought it was the coolest thing ever."

Feng turned back to Ayumi with a soft smile, a nostalgic tear in her eye.

"I've loved trains ever since."

"I do not know if I would recommend trying to outrun these ones. Their design is for speed and the getting most commuters around hemispheres of the planet for the districts." The train arrived, sleek, smooth white hull to it. Golden trim and black reflective viewports. Tubes along the top and bottom as Ayumi was indicating. "The converters are built into the trains themselves. Pollution from factories and hazards in the air as it goes are converted into energy, fuel and." She said it as droids were coming in and quickly retrieving rods of metal as Ayumi moved inside of the train with several others and finding the seats. Two persons on either side with a central area, each comfortable and lined with cushion.

"The rods are matter we can breakdown and program for different purposes, in areas where we are rebuilding the trains convert debris and more hazards, waste to the molecular level where we will be able to use it and develop more areas. With self automating facilities, rebuilding efforts and urban renewal projects from level to level." She said it and sat in the one seat with a motion for Feng to join her while she was across from a mother and her child. Another pair of workers and one of the board members from a few of the newer companies and districts. The glow of the new implants. "There is also the new workers implants, designed to help with regulation and medical needs. More or less it schedules breaks and meals so your body has the best results and tracks health and fitness."

Feng listened to Ayumi as she explained the functions and excellence of the train It was clearly a passion project of hers. Though Feng was beginning to get the sense that the entire of Denon was a passion project for Ayumi, the care, dedication, efficiency of it's systems all designed to better serve her people. Feng was lucky to have fallen for someone as dedicated to the betterment of people as Ayumi. So much so she barely even mentally stumbled over the fact that she had fallen for her.

So quickly? So soon? Was it supposed to happen this fast? Why had no one consulted me on whether or not I wanted to fall for well anyone let alone the person I was supposed to be impartially protecting?

Feng laughed at her worries.

So, she had fallen for someone. That was a good thing, she decided to turn her anxiety into excitement at the thought and just enjoy herself. She decided to try and attempt to follow along with what Ayumi was saying to show she was interested in what Ayumi was passionate about, that she was paying attention and learning.

"It's good that the train serves a dual purpose of cleaning the atmosphere as they go. It's a smart resourceful way of hitting two birds with one stone. Provides a valuable service and less speeder congestion while helping to clean the air from pollution." Feng complimented, slipping her arm through Ayumi's to hold her closer.

Feng shivered a little at the implants. She had grown up a fairly monastic life, while technology had been a part of it as necessary to be comfortable with it and in Feng's case comfortable enough in its uses. Still there had been a subtle emphasis on not depending on it for everything. Depending on it for a scheduled breaks, meals, tracking health and fitness, seemed excessive not to mention uncomfortable.

"Do you have any implants?" Feng asked curiously "Oh is that too personal a question? I didn't mean to pry."

"It is not and I do not. I can do most with the force that they do with the implants we have provided and they serve a great deal but are also removable. Our workers implant package is meant to aid them and it increases their effeciency without strain. Adjustments to it allows the body to recover where it is needed so they are not injured. The new saying is simple and direct. A healthy worker makes much, the sick make little and the dead make none. Cold yes but to balance the corporate infrastructure of Denon's many boards with its working population we went for the choice that saw all lifted by the rising tide of manufacturing and exports. The new vertical gardens drastically reduce the cost of food saving everything tens of thousands of credits."

She said it with a look. "There is also the other benefits, our repli-limb implants are genetically cloned from the persons DNA to be regrown and allow them the capability to work again. VIsion implants to restore and protect sight in the factories and we have developed robust new safety systems that are employed. Denon is still heavily corporate interests but it is leaning more towards the higher profits from higher standards of living as opposed to casually exploiting everything. The Chancellor aided in much of it and our molecular conversation technologies to rebuild and repair the infrastructure of the nearly two thousand levels below us. Each capable now of supporting our growing population as we intake refugees from the wars."

Feng listened and nodded. It made sense to provide the everyday worker with access to technology, the things that Feng and Ayumi took for granted with access to the Force. Feng frowned as she considered her thoughts and feelings on the matter. A part of her was still uncomfortable with it she knew, but there was also a sense of how it improved lives, even if the motivations weren't entirely altruistic in nature, the fact was that it did improve lives. Which was for the better was it not?

Would Feng really stand in the way of something that helped people just because of a slight distrust on the dependence of technology? That seemed incredibly small minded. Not too mention Denon was just one world in a wide vast expansive galaxy, it had the right to live to its own customs and traditions, so long as they weren't hurting anyone who was Feng to stand against it.

The medical advancements alone seemed a vast improvement on a lot of worlds. Regrown limbs? Many peoples had to make do with mechanical limbs, and that was if they were lucky enough to be able to afford it or have access to the resources it took. Vision implants? Sounded great.

So yes a part of Feng was sad that it took this level of technological and even more concerning corporate dependence but she was at a greater level happy that they were able to receive the care that they needed.

"It seems like a very care based efficient system." Feng eventually complimented "Regrown limbs when most depend on mechanical if they're lucky, vision implants, room for relief zones for refugees. You are doing your best to provide a valuable life for all under your care. It must be daunting at times… and lonely."

SItting in the seat she looked at Feng and gave a nod. "A little, it is to some a strange thing. Saying I owe a debt, my family. IN truth we do not, we barely are remembered in many ways except for the ones who try and use our family name." She said it but sat there. "Though lonely is something that is part of everrything. When I trained in the force it was lonely, when I investigated the Republic corruption under the chancellor with senate security it was lonely but you find ways to get through it and here on Denon I do have quite a lot of people that I know. A larger social circle that I can operate within and the High Republic is... interesting."

Feng nodded with flicker of a small smile.

"I would suggest you would be you even without your family name to live down. That it provides motivation for you to do good is admirable, but you would still be you if you were born with a different family name. Still trying to help others as best you can. It still must be isolating having everyone you know depending on you for something. I hope I can be an island in that sea of people depending on you. The only thing I want from you is your affections." Feng offered her perspective and herself as best she knew how, hoping with her heart in her throat that Ayumi would accept.

Feng smiled and gently leaned her head on Ayumi's shoulder.

"I'll try not to add to your burdens, but to maybe alleviate them where I can, is what I'm saying." Feng assured her softly.

"Hmmm I don't know if they depend on me for something all the time, most seem to enjoy it and I'll complain but honestly the benefit of a family that has invested in a lot of endeavors for near a thousand years and kept the credits in a hundred different financial institutions that collects interest, investments to increase it and in other places. Allows for the funding to do all the things that I want to do to help people. Other do and reach for the stars but don't have the means to do all of their endeavors. I do and so I can work to help them achieve what they have been wanting to do." She saif it as the train was coming into one of the districts and the medical distract was massive. the buildings gleaming and waterways showing boats. "I introduce the Amidala medical district."

Feng nodded, she was struck by the fact that despite growing up with such privilege how well balanced Ayumi was. It was a remarkable testament to her character alone, even aside from all the wonderful things she put her efforts towards.

"I'm glad it hasn't ruined you. Before I met you I wouldn't think anyone born into such wealth and privilege could ever be as noble, honourable, giving, wonderful and amazing as you are." Feng blushed slightly, though not too much, this wasn't something she was embarrassed to say so much as slightly afraid not so much of Ayumi's response, but for the depth of her own feelings.

Feng turned wide eyes to the Amidala district. It was amazing. So much space reserved just for the medical well being of others, gleaming buildings, and waterways, and walkways over them. It would be a wonderful place to sit and read a book. Definitely a good spot to go on a date.

"Wow." Was all Feng could say.

She looked at her as the train continued on and raised an eyebrow. "FLatterer... you are not wrong but it is so much nicer when someone acknowledges what you are already knowing don't you think?" SHe said it with a smile and it was much more playful as she rose up and moved a little in the car tapping an alcove of the train as it slid opened and she grabbed a pack as she spoke. "These are some Seaweed Strips that we have developed. Good for a meal but more importantly they are healing agents. You can set them over the wound and it will help with it. There is also a few other food items but she pulled a strip out and ate it with a smile. The train arriving as she spoke. "Welcome to District 25." She said it as the doors were opening and moved out of the train with a look.

Feng smiled, then rolled her eyes at Ayumi's self-facetiousness. "Don't go growing too big of a head buster or you'll ruin everything I just said" Feng admonished playfully. Feng tried one of the Seaweed Strips with curiosity.

"It's… slimy, yet satisfying" Feng admitted after careful chewing thought.

"You could develop a good export business on this alone you know. Plenty of planets need sustainable food and medicine, this can be packaged as both." Feng said thoughtfully, then almost shook her head at herself, since when had she started thinking in terms of marketability? Ayumi's influence was rubbing off on her, she thought to herself wryly.

Feng was speechless as they entered District 25. It was beautiful, picturesque, like something out of a holo art exhibit of what a city planning district could look like.

"Tell me about it?" Feng requested of Ayumi knowing she was about to be inundated with facts about the efficiencies of the place with passion.

SHe gave a grin while looking around and walking through. "It is built to specifications for sustainability. The new glass panels in the buildings absorb sunlight and are protect in the event of an attack. New walls and metal siding allows them to have temperature regulation. We have across all of the levels of the district itself debate chambers, study halls and offices. Food courts are something needed and provided but it is meant to get a large amount of government work done and with all of the levels we are able to fivide the work and key officials for protection. Attacks from Darkwire have been reduced and cut down drastically as well since they were labeled as terroristic for their bombings and threats."

Feng listened to Ayumi explain the architecture and the features of the district with pride. She had a right to be proud of it, as far as Feng was wconcerned she knew that none of it would be possible without Ayumi headed the project. Like every effort Ayumi put herself into it was detailed, well thought out and inspiring.

"Are you always so heavily involved in the planning of the facilities?" Feng asked with an affectionate smile.

She was proud of Ayumi and of her achievements. Most people with her resources and family connections at best just devoted themselves to gaining more money at worst squandered it on frivolous pursuits.

"The people are lucky to have you." Feng said with pride "As am I."

"I mean it too of people in your position squander resources either on themselves or on the futile pursuit of more wealth, more power, more greed. It takes vision and dedication to build something for the people, for the betterment of society, not just oneself. It can't have been easy."

She looked at Feng. "I mean technically I do get paid. The judicial system who benefits from the laws and resolutions that are passed through my office. So a percentage of the court fees were determined to pay my offices salaries. We benefit when we are ensuring that Denon's legal system and courts, senate works which is fair. It also means we can't vote for our own raises." She said it while looking at her. "We also expanded the courts, instead of five hundred levels with only eighty courts to hear cases and handle it which backed things up. We have increased it to near two hundred courts perr level. Allowing us to have substantially faster legel processes taken care of, it saves credits for the people who have to use it so they aren't paying for months or even years of representation."

Feng laughed.

"Well of course you get paid silly." Feng laughed "That's only fair that you be compensated for all your hard work. I meant that getting more and more wealth is clearly not your priority. It's helping people, funding and establishing projects. Projects that better serve your community, society, nation, world, even others such as refugees which wouldn't nominally have your protection or allocation of resources benefit from your governance. It's rare to find someone in the halls of power who is not only willing to act for the benefit of others, but who is capable of doing so effectively."

"Just then you demonstrated two things, one that you put measures in place against your own corruption. That shows remarkable foresight for even though I doubt you yourself would ever seek a corrupting influence, the checks and balances help demonstrate your forthright honesty. As well as prevent others from attempting to raise their own wealth and status."

"The other thing you demonstrated was your care for the legal procedures of your world, too many worlds are bogged down in red tape, buraecracy or indeed outright corruption. You've managed to find a way to make yours more efficient for the betterment of everyone, and potentially at the expense of your own power by expanding the courts."

"In short senator you are not only a great leader, you are a good person. Now take the compliment."
Feng said the last with mock severity before breaking out into a wide grin.
