Heir to the Emperor, Senator of Denon

"Are you kidding Jedi Feng you would make an excellent council member. YOu have compassion, you feel quite a lot, are grounded and if you become in charge of requisitions for the temples and contracts you have a beautiful industrial contact who will get you the best deal. It is like a win, win win and you still get to have a nice chair. I'll get your a custom one with cupholders that you are able to use." She said it but looking at the races. "Oh I get excited about quite a lot, Denon offers much in the way of places to be." She pointed with a finger. "Over there on the boardwalk it rounds into a private cove. The zeltrons and twi'leks have a privacy screen and it is a clothing optional beach and spa."

She was looking. "The other districts are around and three over is Karen Roberts force academy it was meant to be a sort of academy meets research institute. The High Republic ignores it but Denon force sensitives are able to go there and receive instruction as needed to learn how to contorl it and we have developed a work force program. There is a lot a force user who can held secure places with their minds or sense potential dangers can come in handy in an industrial setting. It also works for the board rooms and with our vertical gardens we have attracted Neti who care for it as well as others from around the galaxy by offering growth potential."

Feng laughed merrily.

"Cupholders?" Feng giggled "I'm not sure that fits with the decorum of a Jedi Councilmember. Next you'll be suggesting I have a throne and a throne room to go with it."

Feng shrugged good naturedly.

"If it's in my path, then it will be, but I have no particular inclinations towards that sort of career path. I just try to serve people as best I can, while I can. It may not mean much in the grand scale of things, but each individual life saved is a life changed, I like to believe for the better. If nothing else it gives people hope that every individual matters no matter how isolated."

Feng blushed at hearing that there was a clothing optional beach and spa.

"Well let's not put that on the itinerary for today." Feng laughed in bubbled mirth. She had no desire to be exposed and watching a bunch of strangers expose themselves to her.

"I would be happy to take or give instruction at Karen Roberts Force Academy." Feng offered. "Assuming they would want a Jedi pupil or lecturer. Master Wu says we never truly stop learning and through teaching others we learn the most."

"Who was Karen Roberts? She must have been a remarkable person to get an academy named after her."
Feng asked out of curiosity.

"A garden tended by Neti? That is fortunate. I should like to see that." Feng admitted with wonder "Assuming it isn't clothing optional as well?"

Feng asked the last with a raised eyebrow and a sly grin.

"Karen Roberts was the Jedi Peacock of the Omega protectorate, skilled, wore multi colored and shifting robes and hair at times. SHe was skilled and renowned but the academy was during a time when the Republic was running many out of it so the academy offered something different." She said it while the mention of the beach was passed over but there was no need they were on their first real time and it was going incredibly well. "It is beautiful though and there is a kyber crystal in the front that was collected." She said it while being there and Feng's modesty was adorable in the best way. That she didn't want to be or didn't think she would be on the council was important." "We shall see how things go but if you wanted a throne we can make you a throne."

Feng huffed a laugh and raised an eyebrow at describing a clearly venerated Jedi as a peacock. Feng thought she sounded cool and stylish, but then she didn't know enough about her to comment.

"You don't sound like you're a fan." Feng commented instead. "I suppose I can see the appeal of a Jedi who followed her own path, and expressed it with her own sense of fashion."

"Kyber crystals are beautiful, it is... refreshing to here of them being used for beauty instead of in the application of a weapon, even a weapon designed for defence."
Feng admitted with a sigh.

Feng huffed an exasperated huff at Ayumi's teasing of getting her a throne.

"Perhaps I should have a crown to go with it, something big and gaudy, like a diadem with fluff and feathers." Feng responded wryly.

Feng shook her head.

"If I wanted wealth and power, I have chosen the wrong path in life. All I want is a life of service towards others great and small."

"SHe was not a bad jedi or person but she was also less approachable then many others. You never really coordinated with her you just responded when she decided to do something. It was one of the main dangers of her being around and why she was in the protectorate at times." She said it but was sitting back and enjoying the moment. "I think you would make anything enjoyable to look at and never know what the force might bring for your path. One day you are protecting a senator the next day you might be wanting to further ties between the Republic and Jedi with some big marriage union to forever unite them through such powerful ties."

Feng grimaced hearing the description of the Jedi Karen and nodded, she knew the type. Jedi who were so sure of their own infallibility they never consulted with anyone other than themselves, and perhaps their superiors if they were forced to. Feng hoped she would never be so falsely sure of herself that she would deign not to consult others opinions on important matters. Which was an odd thing to hope for given her usual issues with self confidence. Perhaps there were advantages to not having a false sense of security of oneself after all.

She was brought out of her self reflection rather abruptly, at Ayumi's next casual offhand sentence.

"Wait… what?" Feng blurted out and once again the stupid blush of embarrassment was back.

"Ha ha. Once again I think you just like teasing me to get a reaction, specifically my blush." Feng scowled in perturbed mock fury. "Any way if you wanted a union between Republic and Jedi, you've chosen someone too low ranks to be of much use to you except as a symbolic figurehead for the masses."

"Besides… if I ever marry it better be damn well for the right reasons, and a political alliance isn't it."
Feng insisted firmly.

"Though I'll admit it might be worth it to marry you" Feng offered the last softly and cleared her throat immediately after.

"Yes I do." She said it while being there but offered a small look. "Doesn't mean I am wrong though and while pretty a lot of the higher rank jedi have an attitude like they would be the ones who call out their own name instead." She said it with a grin spread on her face but she leaned back a little and would let that sit with her and think about it. Ayumi watching as the racers finished, the idiots array showing on full display as Jazmyn's racer was ahead but busted at the last minute from her gambler. "And that is where you do it, save the best hand for the last stretch." She laughed a little though while she looked at Feng. "And there is plenty of benefit to politicial alliances and marriages Feng, for one other groups try and send pretty girls to try and seduce and break it up so it becomes like a buffet."

Feng smiled shyly at Ayumi's confirmation that she liked to make Feng blush. In anyone else Feng might have felt attacked, like they were trying to prompt Feng's mortification. In Ayumi it felt like their first in joke, their first game where Ayumi did her best to make Feng blush while she did her best- and failed- not to. It felt like the sort of things couples bonded over, one of life's little joys that two people could share between the two of them.

"Well if it helps no ones ever made me blush like you do." Feng admitted shyly ducking her head.

Feng looked perplexed at the idea of a buffet of girls serving themselves up to try and get between them. Did she… she wasn't sure how she felt about a girl getting in between her and Ayumi… she supposed so long as she was there as well she didn't mind… she didn't think.

"As long as I'm there too." Feng quipped boldly then blushed a deep crimson.

Her eyebrows raised with Fengs words. "Well that is certainly something but I wouldn't worry about it. Last real political marriage I saw went surprisingly well and was almost boring... to the point it was over a month later." She said it with a small laugh to herself though and she thought about it. Surely there had been others but she hadn't seen them and most seemed to last only until he governments dissolved or conquests ended. It presented a rotating stock for a few but the senator was enjoying the time to herself. "I'll just have to see about making it a point to get you to blush next time when I give you that dance."

Feng smiled shyly at the mention of the dance, then emboldened by the success of the day and of the date Feng made further comment.

"I look forward to it." Feng allowed herself with a flushed wry smile.

The day had gone rather splendidly.

She thought to herself, she'd had an interesting conversation and interaction with a beautiful, successful, powerful, graceful, lithe and empowering woman. Not to mention the fact that she'd been kissed! Finally and it had been even better then she'd expected. A part of Feng want to grab Ayumi and kiss her again, passionately without a care for the world or who may be watching, most of her though didn't want to ruin the moment by rushing everything.

All in good time.

She promised herself, a promise she had every intention of keeping, but for now she was just basking in the glow of a successful date. At the very least she'd been promised a dance, which was one promise she was looking forward to collecting on.

"As do I." The look was there but Ayumi mused to herself. "Now as I promised." She rose up and offered a hand. "COme, w can go and meet your favorite racer." Ayumi said it as the garden itself was clearing out while the club goers were going back to their dancing or watching other screens. Ayumi leading the way across to Padma in the speeder at the docks for them. The chance to go as Cato's sister was there with the other racers. Ayumi's hand bringing the screen as the prize purse was being presented to the winning team. The twi'lek driver with her emerald skin and lekku and then there was the gambler with his grin formed on his face. "Jazmyn is there readyf ro you to meet when we get over there."

Feng clapped her hands in excitement. She'd never gotten to meet the racers at an official event before, well not including when she was a racer, and even then that had only been in bare passing. Plus there was an edge to that where you both had the knowledge you'll be competing with each other shortly or having just done so in the aftermath. Part of you was concentrating on either winning or in Feng's case her recent loss.

But this was different! She could enjoy meeting a racer from the pure perspective of just being a fan! Feng could gush about racers, about her performance on the track, obnoxiously ask for a holoselfie and do all the things regular fans did!

"Come on! Let's go!" Feng grabbed Ayumi's hand and all but dragged her towards the speeder.

Feng was practically humming or maybe buzzing with excitement as the speeder delivered them to the racers. Feng all but leapt out of the speeder, before she remembered she was technically still on duty. She stopped short abruptly, she should be protecting Ayumi as part of her detail. Feng turned back and offered a hand for her to step out of the speeder, blushing in embarrassment at her own behaviour.

She gave a nod of her head to that. "Good." She was leading the way as Padma had guided the speeder and the doors opened as Cato stood there. "Senator." She offered a looked at the outfits for both of them and the twi'lek was skilled at not giving anything away with her looks. Ayumi was stepping out of the speeder as she looked around and the winners circle was designed to have the top three of them. THe prize purse being divided between the two as Ayumi let her bodyguard remain and oversee the open and filled area. Cato was there and behind her shoulder Zahira was standing there in her suit. Black on black on black with her cybernetically exposed neck that gave her a neck guard and she was designed to be a body and facial double to Ayumi for the moment. Standing there while she looked at the dress and then Feng and didn't speak. "Jedi Feng meet Zahira and you know Cato."

Feng almost didn't notice the entourage of people that gathered about Ayumi as she stepped into and out of the speeder. Not very observant of the Jedi that was supposed to be protecting her charge.

"Please to meet you both." Feng smiled and bobbed her head politely, resisting the urge to turn the bob into a little curtsey. It was all the elegant dresses they made her feel like she was at a fancy event filled with fancy people who did things like bow and curtsey.

"Oh, is that her?" Feng exclaimed squeezing Ayumi's arm as she caught sight of the racer accepting people's affirmations, congratulations and accolades. Feng guessed at a glass this was the event the very wealthy and connected got a chance to meet the victors right after a race.

It must be exhausting to have just one a race, but still be on the clock. Feng felt very out of place herself, she barely caught herself before she started to hide behind Ayumi, as if she were the one protecting Feng and not the other way around. Feng took a deep breath and stepped in front of Ayumi as she started scanning the crowd for any potential threats. When in doubt fall back on training and duty.

Cato and Zahira gave nod while they were moving and Ayumi looked towards the racers and gamblers who were there. THe six of them accepting people and questions. "It is, the races are smaller in scale but it means the people get to interact with the crowd and it build them up. Fan engagement allows it to pull in more which adds to the economy. We use this to fund works projects and a few more." She said it while walking for a moment further and Zahira moved forward looking at her as the biot spoke with an unchanging expression. "YOu are determined to give Rojuhr Pouihl Rojuhr Pouihl gray hair." SHe said it and Ayumi just blinked. "I have no idea what you mean my security chief is talents and my jedi protector gives goodies with her skills. I saw her do a blackflip with no prep, stretch or running."

Feng nodded. It made sense, allowing fans a chance to interact with the racers and players fostered a communal spirit to the races, allowing the fans to be a part of them if however briefly. It must be enormous pressure on the racers to be charming as well as good racers, Feng wasn't sure how she would handle being in the spotlight to such an extant, constantly exposed. Even the shadow she was getting from being in Ayumi's limelight was intoxicating in it's own way.

Feng overheard the last of the exchange and stopped, hesitated, unsure. She should be prioritising Ayumi's safety and security first, not her own enjoyment. Still she couldn't resist one last quip.

"Well I was well motivated at the time. Future acrobatics will require further motivation" Feng said with a smirk and a glint in her eye.

Quip rejoined she turned to Zahira.

"If there is any cause for concern over Ayumi's safety please alert me immediately.. including my enthusiasm. I would never wish to put her in jeopardy."
Feng said the last solemnly, as if making a promise.

The biot looked at Feng and spoke only remaining there. "No concerns, you are human, if you fail then I can break you." Zahira made a point and Ayumi laughed. "And that is why she is programmed to protect me but also try to keep me from running off with pretty women." Zahira didn't make a sound but her flicked her eyes with her head remaining forward facing. "I have a list." Ayumi only grinned and kept walking before she looked at Feng. "Come come come, you can meet Jazmyn and have some fun with her." Cato was looking though as she walked with a datapad and took Ayumi's silver one giving her a black datapad. "Your schedule and agenda for the week. I'll send apologies to the ones as you will be." She looked at Feng. "Occupied." THe smile was on her face with a nod of her head as her lekku vibrated.

Feng looked disconcerted at the… was it a threat? Sort of a half threat, conditional on if Feng failed Ayumi. Did that mean if Feng failed to protect Ayumi's self or her heart? Was this the equivalent of a close friend warning her not to toy with Ayumi? Feng wasn't one of those people who believed droids didn't have personalities of their own, she'd seen too much evidence of it to ever believe it, but sometimes translating what they said into sapient notions took some work. She wished she had a translation droid for the biot.

"I promise to protect her, all of her with the best of my ability." Feng promised solemnlly

Feng hid a shy smile at Ayumi clearing her schedule for Feng. She wasn't sure that was in keeping with either of their duties, Feng was fairly sure she was already breaking several rules, about a bodyguards need to be dispassionate when it came to protecting their trustee, but Feng couldn't really find it in herself to be doubtful or upset that Ayumi was sweeping her of her feet.

They reached Jazmyn and the other racers.

"Hi! I'm Feng I'm a racer too, the way you took those turns was inspired, did you double tap or just go full throttle?" Feng asked Jazmyn eagerly.

Zahira mostly remained quiet as she was there and Ayumi smiled. Jazmyn standing there with her white jacket on and black bodysuit for it grinned though. "Welcome." She said ti and Ayumi was looking at the others as Cato was with her sister and the twi'lek came over with a grin. Her lekku gleaming from it but the senator spoke looking at Jazmyn. "You did wonderful for the opening of the season and I am looking forward to seeing many more races... and for you on Mystique." She said it with a grin though and looked at Feng. "Jazmyn has been one of the better and more helpful for improving the races and sports scene here on Denon. With a handful of others."

Feng smiled a beaming smile as Ayumi spoke to Jazmyn, and of her.

"I look forward to many more great performances of Jazmyn's career. Maybe I'll even race against her myself some day." Feng said with a competitive gleam in her eye.

Feng wasn't sure she wanted to race in sabaac games, however monitored they were, it felt like a step too far from her own values, but that didn't mean they couldn't arrange for a private race sometime.

Jazmyn was looking a little lost and perplexed to be talking with a Senator and a Jedi both. Feng decided some reassurance was in order.

"Don't worry about us we're just more overly enthusiastic fans, same as any other." Feng laughed and shrugged in self deprecation.
