1 Mil Cred Tournament - Cecilia Vs. Jayce

Cecilia stood in a 60 foot (18m) wide circle of stone, 10 feet (3m) from the edge. [member="Jayce Pryde"] , her opponent, stood in the same way on the other side, with 40 feet in between them. They were here on Iridonia to participate in a tournament for 1 million credits, with special conditions on every round. Cecilia, who had planned on participating in the tournament with her staff, managed to draw the one handed challenge. As a result, she was now standing here with a slim rod with a handle, clearly essentially a metal lightsaber. The blade was made out of a particularly strong aluminum alloy, and was rather thin, creating a manageable weight. Cecilia had requested it from the forges, and had been training with it for the past week. The power was a bit harder to manage, but Cecilia would be able to use the weapon for makashi as planned.

Off to her right, a rather average looking spacer, the tournament referee raised a gun, and fired it into the air. The tournament had begun.

Cecilia pivoted so her right foot was forward and in line, facing Pryde. Apart from his dark aura and the weapon at his side, she knew nothing about his combat ability. He could come to her.

Inside the stone arena Directly across from his opponent sat Jayce, Deep in meditation. He could sense his opponent even through his meditation, She was strong and determined.... Jayce liked that in an opponent, Meant they would actually fight and not just roll over and die.

He was dressed in his normal attire consisting of black tactical pants and lightweight combat boots. He had opted out of wearing his tunic tonight, availing to show off his body art instead.

Unlike his oppnent however Jayce would not be having his arm tied behind him, He would however simply unattached his cybernetic left arm and had left it waiting with a refferee.

When the blaster sounded Jayce hopped to his feet with a crazed look in his yellowed eyes and a sinister smirk curling his thin lips.

He'd chosen a simple weapon for the fight, his fists.
He was ready..... Was she?

Cecilia slowly walked towards the Sith, circling to his left, where his arm was removed. If he didn't respond by rotating in the opposite direction, considering his apparent chosen weapon of melee combat, his only option would be a slower step through strike.

She had sparred with Ar'ekk countless times, but she was now realizing this was her first fight of any kind with anyone but him and sometimes his other students. He had certain habits that she wouldn't see in other opponents, and a style she had gotten used to. Really she saw no way she was going to win this fight. She was way too inexperienced. Still, all the more reason to draw it out as long as possible. She needed to learn as much as she could from this fight.

Despite the Calling herself a scholar, and despite most certainly being one, she certainly enjoyed fighting. Fights were fun, and different, they gave her an opportunity to use a much different facet of herself than the one usually presented. Instead of studying stuff, she got to stab stuff. Which is something she usually neither wanted nor had the opportunity to do. Fights forced her to do this, and it was a break of character, shattering the customary masquerade of her usual personality and replacing it with a temporary grin of battlelust. Then there were people like a certain pantoran, who she just wanted to stab all the time.

Having now largely closed in, if nothing had happened until then, Cecilia would have used a surprising burst of force speed to accelerate from standing to a rapid lunge, aiming her baton at the side of [member="Jayce Pryde"]'s knee. Though if she had been attacked before then, she would have instead been continuing her circling, having dodged the blow with a quick backstep.

Patience was not something most Sith were taught at their academies but over the years as an assassin Jayce had learned a great deal of it.

As his opponent circled so would he... He watched his prey, learned from his prey, Her footing was unsure... As if she was worried. He liked when his prey worried.

His head have a slight shake as she rushed forward towards him... Should have had more patience. His focus heightened as she leaned in to attack with her baton Jayce, If successful, would quickly lift his left foot and being it stomping back down into the hand wielding the baton causing her to jerk downward violently while he brought his right fist around to hopefully strike just behind her left eye with just enough force to renewed her unconscious.

Cecilia really should not have gotten impatient. What she had thought was more than fast enough turned out to be quite the slow speed. She was a novice, and her opponent was a practiced predator.
Her attack was easily intercepted, and countered in an admirably smooth and efficient manner. [member="Jayce Pryde"] had hardly broken his stride, and Cecilia had ended up knocked out on the ground. She was frustrated that she had done that badly. Oh well. She at least learned things from it. Certainly she needed to get stronger. There were people out there that surely made the strongest Je'daii she knew look like dust mites. Cecilia was laying down facing the sky, and was about to get up when she thought better of it. No reason to. Pryde was probably long gone, and with the tournament over and she obviously in healthy condition, the overseer had left too. Sighing at the sky, Cecilia closed her eyes again.
