Intent: To create a primary sword for Atheus to use.
Development Thread: N/A

Manufacturer: Atheus, Cerberus Enterprises, Blood Hunters Iron Works
Model: Kyro Thaniton ( κρύο θάνατο )
Affiliation: Independent, Atheus
Modularity: No, None whatsoever.
Production: Unique
Material:

Classification: Sith Sword
Size: One handed, Two handed
Length: 1 meter blade, 1.3 meters total.

Weight: 2.5 kgs
Special Features:

  • Sith Alchemy sword with special metals.
  • Freezes everything.
Strengths: (Provide, in list format, a minimum of 1 strength of this submission.)
  • Created out of an alloy that is rather light, and durable. it reduces the suspected weight. It is considerably lighter than most other Sith swords which can weigh around 3-7 kgs.
  • Canon Sith sword effects of being able to deflect blaster fire, lightsaber resistance, Lightning rod effect, and sharper blades that require less time to maintain.
  • Ostrine Edge causes a very cold sensation when being cut, or even touching the blade. One simple touch of the blade for a second will do nothing more than feel extremely cold. Being cut with the blade can leave frostbites, and even cause the skin to "dry" or literally harden if cut multiple times within close proximity to the previous cuts. If stabbed into someone, the longer the blade is held in the body, the faster the person will begin to "freeze" or essentially, the body is rapidly cooling to the point it causes serious damage.
  • Sith "Ice": With the blade being altered by Sith Alchemy, the effects of the Ostrine are warped to act differently. Instead of the only flesh to rapidly cool, any sort of contact with any materials, can cause the same effect. Meaning, if placed on a table, the table will literally start to harden from the intense cold, and become brittle and break. The air around the sword also becomes extremely cold. Extremely hot items, or if someone really feels like it, stabbing the sword into lava will take more time to freeze, than that of flesh, or items that are not heated up.
Weaknesses: (Provide, in list format, a minimum of 1 weaknesses of this submission.)
  • A downside of Sith alchemy is that the weapon will be considerably heavier than normal weapons of the same constancy. Requiring more strength to use the weapon.
  • Does not have the same cutting power as a Lightsaber. So it can't cut through tougher plate armor. It can still cause damage to medium and light armors.
  • As with the dark sided effects of the sword, corruption to the dark side is capable when consistently using the weapon. The wielder will be more susceptible to outbursts of anger, and violence over time. *corruption effect is twice as much than without the weapons.*
  • Ostrine is a useful item in battle, but maintaining the sword means it requires protective gear. With the added effect of Sith alchemy to "freeze" more than just flesh, it uncontrollably freezes everything, including the air around the blade. In order to prevent the chilling effects of the blade, a special sheath was required to be made out of the hide of a Wampa, and treated with alchemy to resist all cold effects. Thus enclosing the weapon and preventing the wielder from freezing himself when carrying the weapon.
  • A second effect, is that when the wielder is using the blade, they are needed to either use the force to reduce the effects upon them, such as Tapas, or wear cold weather gear. Simply holding the blade correctly, with gloves is sufficient enough for the hands, otherwise, it's recommended to wear a coat. This also means anyone else who the wielder is facing can also fight against these effects just as easily. One can use powers such as Pyrokinesis or Fire shaping to prevent heat against the person, but as the sword is always cold, the user would have to constantly keep up with the blade to reduce the effects.
  • Another side effect, as the sword will always have a cooling effect, the blade cannot be reforged. If it breaks, the weapon breaks and can't be put back together again like humpty dumpty.
Description:
Death is Cold. Death is Swift. Death will kill you.

A blade forged for the specific use of Atheus as the "God of Nothing" within the Pantheon, and to attribute towards the man's "Cold Attitude" towards others. The double-edged sword is in much the same form of other "knightly" blades and looks as such. Having a crossguard to defend against lightsabers when sliding down the blade, or even other swords. To aid in deflection of melee weapons, almost at the crossguard, the blade has an extending edge shaped like one half of a diamond. This is to let weapons slide down the length of the blade and "bounce off."

The grip is a hand and a half long, except for the longer pommel. This allows great handling on the weapon, considerably so for the Shi-Cho lightsaber form is considerably close to other Sword fighting forms with blades of its type. Long slashing arcs, as well as some stabbing here and there.

Ostrine is a metal that when invested in a bladed weapon, can cause considerably more damage to those injured by the weapon, than with a weapon without. Able to cause cold damage in varying degrees upon the person, the sword radiates "death" in the form of cold. Kept in it's special sheath, the blade can't cause any harm other than bapping someone over the head with it.

When drawn, the sword uncontrollably freezes the air around it. Intense cold can be felt from anyone within 3 meters of the blade, with the more severe cold being closer towards the center. At most the person would shiver, or reduce the effects when using various force powers, or when wearing warm clothing. However, being cut by this blade leaves one with devastating effects when used correctly.

The bad part about the blade always cooling the surrounding area, is that it cannot be reforged. the blade, even when in shards, will rapidly cool the air around it to prevent even the raging fires of a forge from melting the blade. Thus, if the sword is broken, or wants to be reforged by the owner, it cannot.

IC Details:
As with Atheus providing the owner of Blood Hunters Iron Works a set of blades, He was given use of the Damascus to create his own sword. As with Hellyni culture, they are very much a race that prides on using Melee weapons. Before there were lightsabers, there were swords. As such, Atheus is going back to the old roots, in new ways. Using Sith alchemy to treat a sword to suit his needs, and provide a good means of a weapon other than his lightsaber.

Named in his language meaning "Cold Death," The sword retains that ideal with its ostrine edge, and being a sword. This sword will also act as a stepping stone into the future of Cerberus Enterprises company in making unique swords for those who pay, as well as learning more in the usage of Sith alchemy to alter the blade, and its various metals.

The sword also is in conjunction with Atheus' attitude towards life. the idea of the man's Cold, and harsh attitude, being very much a darwinist, and not a person to show emotions towards others, It fits very well with him. The sword also being unable to be reforged, goes with the idea that when someone dies, they are gone. If the blade were to die, it is forever unable to be a blade again. If it isn't strong enough to not be broken, it deserves to be broken.

*Freezing effect does not mean the user can instantly freeze people, nor will it cause the person to require wearing a jacket when facing someone with said sword. The amount of hits required upon armor to "crack" it or on a person to cause serious harm, is up to the one receiving the blows.*
