Citizens of the Imperial Confederation,
I do not normally make addresses or speak loudly on galactic affairs as my role as Supreme Commander is strictly a military role and not a political or diplomatic one. But in the wake of the recent escalation of tensions between the Mandalore and the Diarchy i cannot hold my tongue no longer as our Mandalorian neighbors across the Parlemian Trade Route abandon all reason by resorting to violence to solve their problems.
As you all know recently, a broadcast was made by Mand’alor the Iron that displayed the public execution of civilians from Taris that had even the slightest affiliation with Diarchs. This brazen display of an atrocity to the entire galaxy would appear to be a response to the previous execution of a Mandalorian soldier by the Diarchs.
Regardless of the origin of the conflict, for Mandalore to respond to the death of one of their own soldiers with the crucifixion of dozens of civilians is a grave escalation of a situation that could have simply been resolved by diplomacy. It is a response that is hardly proportional to the act that Mandalore seeks retribution for and lacks any proper reasoning or logic.
As the former Grand Admiral of the Dark Empire I watched two separate Mandalorian regimes strike us twice without provocation, first with the Protectors who aligned themselves with the Galactic Alliance and again with the Neo-Crusaders who attacked us at our weakest moment. Now to see another Mandalorian regime come here and issue blatant threats against another sovereign state, its citizens and any faction that would align themselves with it is quite worrying especially with Imperialism’s recent history with Mandalore.
There is also the matter of Mandalore’s recent alignment with the Sith, from working as mercenaries under the Sith to the crowning of a Sith as Queen and Warden of Eshan, which only further highlights the question of whether Mandalore will turn its sword against the Confederation next given our own conflict with the Sith.
That being said, once the ongoing diplomatic talks between the Imperial Confederation and the Diarchy at Lianna have concluded i will visit Mandalore to speak with the Mand’alor and seek clarification on this chaotic situation in order to determine whether the the Confederation and the Mandalorian Empire and co-exist in these turbulent times.
Until then, just like the High Republic a formal travel advisory will be issued against Mandalorian Space as all citizens of the Imperial Confederation will be strongly advised against travelling to Mandalorian space until further notice.
The Imperial Confederation has always sought to bring order to a galaxy that has been slowly consumed by chaos and war. When all reason is lost and pointless wars are waged, we are there to restore order and peace in order to defend the sentients that find themselves in the middle of the crossfire.
