Re: Worms of the Earth

Sweat soaked through her shirt as she tossed in her sleep. Jem was use to the nightmares that plagued her since Exgol, but tonight was different. Vivid colors gripped her mind-- robes... masks... figures in a circle swirled around her in a nauseating array.

What are you doing? She balked. She tried to push one to face her but her hands kept scattering through them. It was as if she wasn't there, and she wasn't. She scoffed in helpless confusion.

A hammer rang a maddening note... again and again... reverberating through her core.

The ground ripped out from under her-- the setting changed-- the world around her was dark and yet she knew exactly where she stood. A voice roared against the fabric of the Netherworld, the familiarity chilling her formless body. She tried to pull herself out of the vision but she found herself unable to do anything but watch. The ritual seized the veil between the worlds and, with one determined motion, ripped it apart. The force gave a wretched scream.

Or maybe that was Jem.

A soul reentered the universe. Its corrupted presence weighed upon the fabric of the force like a black hole, ready to consume all that came upon it.

"Daughter."

Jem recoiled and gasped awake.
