What are the Sith?
The Shadow of the Jedi?
The True Power in the Galaxy?
In truth, they are a promise.
The Shadow of the Jedi?
The True Power in the Galaxy?
In truth, they are a promise.
Darth Nefaron had long pondered on the destiny of the Sith. Yet every wasted night within his archives brought him no closer to an answer. The Ancient Sith had a simple goal, revenge for their defeat and near extinction at the hands of the Jedi and the Republic. But that alluded to a justification, a righteousness that was alien to the ancient order.
Darth Sidious was one of the best of them. The end of the Banite line had orchestrated the revenge of the Sith through deception, a galactic scale war that turned the galaxy against the Jedi, and their near extinction were truly remarkable achievements, but in the end, he was cast down. He believed his war to be only with the Jedi, a fatal mistake that led to the downfall of his Galatic Empire and, thousands of years on, the current Sith Order.
The plagued carcass of an order at least.
Eternalist. Kanite. Countless other false faiths that poison what the Sith are.
They sought an Empire in the traditional sense. Crush the Jedi, crush the Alliance, and rule the galaxy. To them it was simple, but in truth, they had failed to learn the lessons of the past.
Their war was not with the Jedi.
It was with the average being.
The humble farmer.
The talented painter.
The corpulent politician.
The Sith and Jedi have come and gone, but in the end, the average being lived and died oblivious to the war between light and dark. This central idea became the bedrock of Nefaron's belief system. You may call it faith, but to admit there was a higher power was to limit one's ambition. It was with the average being.
The humble farmer.
The talented painter.
The corpulent politician.
Every being needs to experience fear.
Misery.
Suffering.
This was the Revenge of the Sith. Endless terror, the root of the Dark Side.
Nefaron looked on, the monitors before him displaying his Apprentice, his journey into the depths of his fortress and the dungeons that lay below. The boy would suffer, but the experience would remind him to be perfect. Then he too would understand. Misery.
Suffering.
This was the Revenge of the Sith. Endless terror, the root of the Dark Side.
There is no hope.
