Blades of grass feathered between the gaps of her fingers like water, a wave of green parting as she rolled a hand in lazy circles. There was a slight breeze in the air, one which dislodged a strand of hair from behind her ear and stuck it to her cheek. But she didn't think move to it. It was cute, no? He'd think so.
"Capris."
It was a voice she didn't immediately recognize, but gave all the trust and certainty in the world.
A pair of bi-colored eyes took a seat beside her. She smiled. Something unconditional and exhaustive. His face should've surprised her. It should've sent her careening off the side of the hill, or gunning for a knife, or giving into any number of visceral, reactive instincts. Instead she found herself leaning into his presence like one half of a magnet. It felt incredibly right. He was safety, and light, and promise, and an addictive plume of smoke her lungs couldn't get enough of.
"I don't appreciate being left to fend off Auteme's friends by myself."
"Hm." That did sound unfortunate "You're really quite pretty you know that?" She interrupted, eyes tracing his own before getting easily distracted by a light stubble shaping his jaw. He looked older than she remembered. More relaxed too. A part of her was glad. he'd felt so heavy last time they'd met.
A hand reached up to cup his face, bringing it closer to her own as her eyes softly landed on his lips. She ultimately let her gaze linger a moment before pushing his cheek away. She then sighed dramatically, making a show of standing up and dusting herself off as if so, incredibly, inconvenienced
"You're right. I can survive a dinner party." She considered before tagging on a stipulation, "So long as we can break into some Alderaan wine after? I was planning on stealing a bottle anyway."
——
She awoke alone, still like a corpse as whatever fantasy she'd constructed receded. Capris remained like that for a moment, eyes getting lost in the black expanse of the ceiling. A palm then snaked its way up to her forehead as if nursing through a migraine. What. Thefuck.
With a sigh her body finally hinged up, back to the cold walls of her ship.
"Trouble sleeping?" Her astromech politely inquired.
"Im fine."
"I can play purgil noises if you believe that would be helpful"
"No."
Curiously, a soft warble of purgil calls started to emit from the droid. The girl sighed, tucking her knees to her chest and resting her chin on the makeshift table on her knees.
Capris then fethed off for a month-long sabbatical to think long and hard about things. Probably on Naboo or somewhere sexy like that. This is me taking an LOA. Buh-bye now.
