Date of Recording: Thranday the 21st of Winter's Solace, in the 36th year of the Third Age.

Cries of victory were recently issued by the New Imperial Order leadership, and indeed it is an occasion worthy of celebration: The fall of that dreaded crimson shadow known as the Sith Empire. There is no denying the bravery and efficiency of the Imperial military, carving a bloody path into their former masters' dark domain with relentless zeal. I commend them on their victory, for it was won fairly and for the overall good of the galaxy, in my humble opinion. Once more the shadow of Carnifex is washed away, but I would be wary to count this as a complete and total victory. The New Imperial Order may have succeeded in their pursuit of bloody revenge, but a Sith organisation of this size is not simply snuffed out.

The Sith Empire has been destroyed before, only to rise again when the perfect moment presents itself. I have witnessed it many times over the course of some sixty years as Jedi, and I cannot possibly believe that this time will be different. Moreover, I know Kaine Zambrano. It goes beyond mere knowledge of character and experience with facing each other on the field of battle. He and I, we share a... connection of sorts. An understanding. We're both sworn to destroy the other, but it runs deeper than a mere proclamation. I believe it is the Will of the Force that our fates are intertwined; that Balance in the Force can only be maintained through mutual destruction. His, and mine.

It would explain his uncanny ability to cheat death, and his sheer will to outlast his enemy at every turn. There has been no report on his demise, nor have I sensed his passing. No doubt he and his ilk have scurried off to plot and scheme their inevitable return.

Another aspect of this victory of theirs that should trouble anyone with some level of foresight, is that when the Sith do return, they will do so with the element of surprise on their side. Without a fixed seat of power to tie their forces to, they open themselves up to appear at will throughout the galaxy. They will amass their forces in the shadows, and strike unannounced. This portion of the galaxy may enjoy some semblance of peace for a time thanks to the sacrifice of Imperial and Jedi alike, but rest assured, they will be back. And there will be no telling where they should appear next.

These are dark thoughts that I now record, but they represent the grim reality when it comes to opposing the Sith. I believe in the cause of the Jedi without question, as I truly believe that it cannot be the natural state of this world that there should be suffering equal to enjoyment. That war should break out whenever good judgement and diplomacy fails. We are too quick to take up the sword when perhaps more carefully chosen words are what is really needed. We Jedi are as guilty of this as any other power out there. Technological breakthroughs occur every day in some part of the galaxy, but all too often these are advancements in the field of warfare when instead we could strive for nobler pursuits, such as medicine and improved quality of life for those in need.

It is not all doom and gloom however. Ridding ourselves of further Sith incursions for a time allows us to narrow our focus on the bigger threat, that being the Bryn'adûl. Perhaps the full might of Imperial and Alliance forces can now be brought to bear on that which threatens the galaxy on a scale not witnessed since the Yuuzhan Vong War in 25 ABY. Only this time, we don't have the likes of Grandmaster Skywalker to lead us. We must resolve this crisis ourselves, and only by uniting the various factions do we stand a chance at ensuring there is a galaxy left to fight over.

The Silver Jedi held the line at Sev Tok, and made a successful push at Nar Kreeta. With more of our fiends joining us, hope may yet be rekindled.

I hear my grandson calling. I'm to take him skiing for the first time. Count on our young to remind us of what truly matters in life.

End transmission.
