And yet Naboo has never faltered. From the cliffs of Dee'ja Peak to the waters of Theed, we have always stood firm. Guided by unity. By courage. By the promise that peace is worth defending.
It is in this spirit that I speak to you today. After deep reflection, I must announce my withdrawal from the candidacy for Sovereign of Naboo. This decision is not made lightly, nor is it a retreat from service. It is an act of faith, faith that Naboo's strength lies not in one voice but in many joined together.
I place my support behind Senator Aurelian Veruna. He has endured trials as we all have. He has proven his resolve to defend Naboo and the Republic with strength and vision. I believe his leadership will guide us through these uncertain times, a torch to carry us forward when shadows close in.
But know this, my people. Though I withdraw from the candidacy, I do not withdraw from you. My duty remains. My service continues. I will seek instead to serve as the Voice of the Houses, second-in-command to the Sovereign, and the bridge between throne and nobility. I will not speak for ambition, but for consensus. In this role, I will ensure that the wisdom of every House, great and small, guides Naboo's path.
In this partnership Naboo will find balance. Where Senator Veruna brings resolve and strength, I will bring prudence and oversight to safeguard our traditions, our fairness, and our people's trust. Together, our voices will not clash, but harmonize, to protect what matters most.
Naboo has long been a beacon of peace and democracy in the Republic. Now it is our time to protect and defend it. That light has not dimmed, nor will it. So long as we draw breath, it will not falter.
Our people cannot afford delay. Neither can the Republic. United in purpose, Naboo will endure. And together, we will safeguard the promise of our world for today, for tomorrow, and for generations to come.
With resolve and in service,
Sibylla Abrantes
Ambassador
House Abrantes, Naboo
