NEW IMPERIAL ORDER ERA

An answer couldn’t be found in the riddle of emotions brewing within.
All he felt was pain from his bruises, and a desperation to leave and go home. He didn’t understand why he was here, but all he could do was to comply with his instructions to not risk himself to any punishments. Today’s lesson was fighting human replica droids and the droids did not hold back. Finally, he lashed out and was later confined to his quarters; grey and no personality.
Jon was finding a way to escape, different scenarios rushed through his head to find the one that was succe-
A knock at his door.
Fear clouded his thinking, and was ready to fight for his life. A single man entered, so far no signs of hostility. It didn’t help to not lower his guard.
“Jonath, is it?”
The young Imperial hesitated for a moment, before nodding his head.
“Just here for a little chat, Jon. Nothing is going to happen. Why don’t we sit down on your bed.” The man had a fatherly tone to his voice, it was able to calm his nerves and lower his hands. Still a bit anxious, however.
“Tell me what’s on your mind, son.”
He tried to find his voice, not answering right away. His throat gulped and tried to talk with strength.
“I…I just - I just don’t know why I’m here. I just want to leave and go home.”
The man stared at Jon for a few seconds, stoic was his expression. He couldn’t tell if he was angry, upset, or what.
A deep exhale was released before the man spoke. “I understand, Jon,” that made the lad appreciative someone in this base was willing to listen to him. “I’ll let you know why you’re here. There’s a lot of change coming to the Galaxy, and we need soldiers like you to help us. You’re not just a regular young man, Jon. You’re something special, and you’re integral in what we’re trying to accomplish.”
“See, there are groups out there that will stop us at anything to give the Galaxy what it needs: peace and order. People like the Jedi and their Alliance don’t want that; I don’t understand why but they’d rather have a Galaxy in turmoil than see it prosper. That’s an example of an obstruction we need to demolish.”
“You and your peers are the key to that, and we need you. We really do - hell the whole Galaxy needs you. This training is meant to prepare you for that mission.”
Listening to the officer inspired Jon and the pain from his bruises didn’t hurt as much as earlier. He was serving a purpose, an important one to the New Imperial Order and the rest of the stars. It filled him with pride to know he was the few out of many to take on this responsibility.
“You think I can rely on you, Jon?”
The lad looked up and saw intense eyes piercing through him. As if he was being challenged by that look. He didn’t break contact and gave a determined, “Yes, you can…sir.”
“Good, then we start again tomorrow. Take the day to rest, but you’re only getting this one favor. Don’t let it happen again.”
