Name: M8-4G "Forgee" (pronounced "for-jee")

Age: 31 GSY
Species: M-Series Utility / Astromech Droid
Gender: Genderless
Height: 2'7"
Weight: 170 lbs

Birthplace: Nubia
Faction: Vagrant Fleet
Force-Sensitive: No

Physical Description: Forgee has experienced some wear and tear over its years of service. It has accumulated quite a few dings and scratches, along with chips to its paint. Overall, however, it's in remarkably good shape for being over thirty years old. Its yellow accent colors are still bright, its photoreceptors still clear, and its tool arms fully functional. It ain't pretty, but it still works.

Strengths: With a rugged, durable chassis and a highly modular design, M-Series astromechs are adaptable droids designed to hold up to wear and tear. Forgee has been modified for starship maintenance, with a wide array of specialized tools built into its casing. A lack of memory wipes over its thirty years of service has allowed it to gain considerable experience in addition to its robust programming.

Weaknesses: Although all M-Series droids come with an integrated blaster pistol, Forgee lacks one; a prior owner removed it in favor of additional maintenance tools. As a result, the droid has no dedicated weapons - and no manipulation arms that can easily wield one. The droid is also somewhat... erratic. It has never undergone a memory wipe, and as a result has more personality than most droids.

Biography: M8-4G rolled off the assembly line at the Industrial Automaton factory in Rordis City, Nubia and was promptly sold to an intersystem shipping company. For three years it worked aboard bulk freighters moving up and down the Rimma Trade Route, assisting the small crew with astrogation. Then, just a few months into its fourth year of service, the shipping company abruptly went bankrupt.

An auction of company assets soon followed, and Forgee was sold off to an independent freighter captain at a bargain price. The captain, a Nautolan named Rin Dranru, extensively modified Forgee so that the droid could better assist with starship maintenance. Rin and Forgee shipped and smuggled across the Outer Rim for eleven years. Then, Rin's ship was shot down by pirates over Sevarcos.

Rin didn't survive the crash, and Forgee was badly damaged. The droid lay disabled in the wreck for several months, until a salvage crew began to scavenge the freighter's remains. The crew repaired and reactivated Forgee, and brought it along to assist their crew. Forgee worked with them for the next six years, learning all about how to take ships apart as well as how to put them back together.

Then the salvagers hit hard times, and they were forced to sell Forgee to a secondhand droid merchant on Sullust. Forgee spent two years in the merchant's shop, helping to fix up other droids and prepare them for sale. Eventually, the astromech was sold to an asteroid mining crew. It spent the next five years working with the miners, scanning for valuable ore and performing equipment maintenance.

Then the miners were arrested by the Rimward Ranger Corps for safety violations, and their ship and droid impounded. The miners missed their court date and absconded from Trade League space, leaving Forgee behind. The astromech was sent over to the Rimward Rescue Service, where it spent the next four years performing maintenance on patrol craft that docked at the D'Qar rescue station.

Forgee was there when the beginnings of the Vagrant Fleet showed up, fleeing the Sith invasion...
