  • Heavy Particle Cannon:
    The Ziz comes standard with a single heavy Particle cannon in replacement of any missile capacity, mounted within the center of the ships hull capable of producing impressive explosive effects. The weapon is a basic artillery model, whose potent combination of both energy and kinetic damage puts heavy strains on the likes of hull stability, ray shields or particle shields which only cater to blocking half of the weapon's damage type. Within atmospheric conditions, the effective range of this weapon halves due to the unstable charged particle blast reacting with the atmosphere and other forces and detonating early as opposed to being shot in a vacuum.

  • 2x Twin Linked Ion Cannons:
    Two, side mounted, double barreled Ion cannons which, although they operate much like normal blasters, they are excellent at hewing through enemy shields. However, they are not adept at ripping through specially armoured hulls in the way a turbolaser or rail-cannon would, instead, they are very good at disabling a ships' interior systems if set to lower power settings and can damage and penetrate the non-fortified armour of fighters and bombers with relative ease.

  • Escape Pods:
    The Ziz comes equipped with moderately sized escape pods, each of them being able to seat about 10 people, each of them have their own life support system as well as a distress beacon and are capable of atmospheric entry. They're packed with emergency kits which include repair equipment, basic medical supplies, light survival gear and rations for about three days.

  • Loading Space:
    Any real hangar space is sacrificed for a rather large storage area which is sealed off from the remainder of the ship. The storage area and the dimensions of the entrance-way is large enough to fit a large vehicle, be it a tank or compact star fighter, or 2 smaller vehicles such as speeders or small interceptors like the Actis Class used by the Jedi. This allows the Ziz the base capacity to operate as a drop-ship, supply ship or a rescue craft should it need to be re-purposed that way.

Special Features:
  • Hull Strength:
    The Quadranium Alloy hull of the ship is exceedingly strong, though it comes at the sacrifice of shield strength. The splicing of alusteel into the mix weakens the overall hull strength were it only made of Quadranium, but still making it strong enough to outclass basic hull armour materials like durasteel while still giving the ship the ability to have a high maneuverability and speed rating. The reliance on a stronger hull than a stronger shield stems from that ship shields can often be tracked due to their energy signatures, so the Ziz, while cloaked, is more reliant on its armour.

  • Shield:
    A very basic deflector shield generator is installed into the Ziz, low quality and able to sustain few dedicated hits before becoming overpowered. Additionally, the shield is not able to remain active in tandem with the ships personal cloaking device, making the ship over-all less reliant on its shielding and more reliant on its above average armour.

  • Cloaking Device:
    The key selling point on this freighter is its high grade cloaking device, capable of eluding common scanners as well as physical sight. The personal cloaking generator cannot be operated in tandem with the weapons and shielding of the Ziz, meaning that the cloaking field needs to be dropped in order to open fire on a target. But simply having the high quality field enables the Ziz to have incredible hit and run / ambush capabilities as well as the ability to maintain supply lines even through an enemy blockade or when all other supply lines are taken. Though the cloaking is not perfect as scanners which are specially able to pick up and view magnetic signatures are capable of seeing the Ziz's position.

  • Encrypted Computer/ transmitter:
    A communications computer equipped with an encryption module enables hidden messages to be sent and decoded within the Ziz at both short and long range. The computer also boasts an encrypted holonet connection as well as being connected to the hyperspace computer which also runs through its own series of encrypted processes in order to maintain the security of its stored information. Each encryption module for each ship is slightly different, much like a serial number wording its information slightly differently so to identify each ship by its information and to ensure that cracking one module, does not crack them all.

  • Targeting Array:
    A basic ship-class range-finder which is capable of predicting motion and trajectory, and calibrating weapons accordingly.

  • Life Support:
    Stock Standard life support systems are installed internally within the Ziz.

  • Scanner:
    A basic scanner capable of scanning using sound or various light spectrum.

  • EM-Chaff:
    Rather than a flare system or other defensive countermeasures, the Ziz has equipped a system which employs electro-magnetic chaff, like a small Ion pulse which lingers behind the ship as it flies, interrupting the guidance systems of concussion missiles and other guided projectiles.
  • Generator:
    Twin Ion generators power the Ziz, giving it ample power for its weapon systems.

Maneuverability Rating: 4
The Ziz employs strategically placed ion thrusters in combination with its own basic etheric rudder in order to change its directions at high speeds or keep itself stabilized in rough situations. Dedicating power to certain directions allowing the Ziz to bank, turn, roll and perform aeronautical feats on par with some heavy fighters or bombers and keep control of its own speed.

Speed Rating: 4
The Ziz is built to be quick, and could likely be quicker were its power not split between its other systems. But the Ziz succeeds in definitely being one of the faster freighters in the galaxy. Using a wide thruster which allows maximum push in both atmosphere and the void of space. Due to its size, the Ziz does not have as quick an acceleration speed in atmospheric conditions, but in space, the maximum speed of the Ziz outclasses some fighters, so long as other systems are not draining the pool, such as cloaking devices, shields and weapons.

Hyperdrive Class: 3
The Ziz boasts an equally impressive hyper-drive to get from point A to point B, though not the most grandiose hyper-drive ever constructed, it is a modern, to date model which gives a positive performance and allows quick runs across the galaxy.

Description: The Ziz class Assault Freighter is a balanced Freighter-Gunship which was developed by the Sith Assassins for stealth operations into enemy territory where more than one sith was needed to be deployed. The Stygium Cloaking Devices which were installed into each of them allow the ships to bypass radar scanners and influence battle in ways the Assassins knew best, in tandum with the philosophies of cloak and dagger warfare and strategic positioning and the advantage of not being seen.

The Ziz was made to be a mix of speed and hitting power, but at the sacrifice of any meaningful defense, while the increased hull strength of the ship is significant, any rupture to the hull, rather than the shield is meaningful damage to the ship which will need repairs, rather than superficial strain on systems when damage strikes powerful shields. Without point defense weapons, the Ziz's sole defense against guided missiles is its speed, in-build chaff system and its cloaking devise, meaning that when pushed to the defensive, the Ziz does not perform well at all. Though, while on the attack, the Ziz shines, its powerful Ion cannons capable of ripping through shields and even light armour while its particle cannon does the rest, capable of blowing ships out of the sky at long range and replacing missile load-outs entirely. Combined with the stealth Generator, the Ziz is very potent when it comes to hit and run tactics, able to bring down opponents much larger than itself in drawn out combat through speed, stealth and superior positioning, though the Ziz, even if for only a moment, must drop its cloaking field in order to shoot as the power drain caused by the cloaking device is substantial.

Within the ship it's comfortable, but not really livable, it has a work-station as well as a lounge / meeting room of sorts and a couple of spartan bunk rooms peppered around the sides which are enough to sleep about 20 people at capacity if every couch is used. Food and rations on the ship are able to support that capacity for about 4 days while the ship has a packed medical supplies kit in case of injury as well as basic survival gear like breathing masks etc. The life support systems are stock standard which allow the ship to maintain its synthetic gravitational field on the interior of the ship as well as a breathable atmosphere for humans, which can be altered for the needs of other species should it be required. (such as those who breathe carbon dioxide rich air.) The escape pods on the ship are well stocked and well prepared for emergency evacuation, using current to-date models which are more than capable of atmospheric entry and have some supplies for

Though the ship is not flawless, many consider the boons of the Ziz to be a gift which outshine its meaningful flaws.

Be the mission infiltration, assassination, or bringing supplies past a blockade the Ziz is a weapon of choice for the assassins and is an integral part of their small stealth-fleet.
