Zion lived on Kashyyyk with his Mother who was in hiding due to what Zion thought was debt problems. He later came to realized that his mother was actualy a sith in hiding due to being extremly injured in a battle before Zion was born. When Zion was nine years old two Jedi came to his the house Zion and his mother were living at, asking his mother to come with them Zion's mother refuesed by pulling out her light saber at this point Zion ran to his room only to hear his mother scream in pain. He hid in his room for days to make sure the men have gone. Luckily His mother had somthing worked out with the locals. They would drop off food to them and In repay for odd jobs.
So Zion continued to live on Kashyyyk. A couple years later Zion became curious of his Mothers past, So he began searching her old belongings. He found many books on Fighting techneques so he began to practice first with a sword and eventualy with a light saber. But even by the age of 17 he still was clumsy with a weapon so he perfered to use the sword for safety reasons. When reading his mothers notes he learned that she was a Sith. He learned of all the horrible things his mother did before he was born, after that day he only went by Zion afraid someone would recognize his family name. He decided that he was going to try to become a Jedi, a group of people that aparently his mother despised. A year later he found a ship off world with some smugglers to Coruscant in hopes of getting training and someday become a Jedi Knight.
