Description: Captain J.Q. Merrill has wanted to build something along these lines for a long time. Eventually the Wretched Hive got profitable enough to bankroll the experimental ship on spec, with aid from various sponsors throughout the Outer Rim. Assuming the right customer would come along, Jorus and his chief engineers - Dingo Darr and Shenna'vala - stripped down an old fighter frame and got to work on one of history's fastest hyperdrives.

The resulting ship is nothing you'd ever want to take for a stroll through hostile territory. Sure, the Zenith-X1 is quick enough to stay a step ahead of most enemies, but a couple of laser cannon shots will turn it into a fireball. Its flexible desh-terenthium hull does a good job of handling the stresses of a violent hyperspace jump or reversion, but desh-terenthium is the tinfoil of the starship design world. The Zenith-X1 has no retaliatory options whatsoever. It's even too flimsy to make a good ramship, speed or no speed.

What it can do, however, is shave hours, days, or weeks off any given interstellar journey. It can reliably get from A to B faster than 99.99999999% of the ships in the galaxy. It's designated as a racer, but it could also serve some fortunate customer as a courier ship of unsurpassed convenience.
