This is a perfectly fine opportunity to throw your life away.

Some criminals are born from - and draw strength from - their adversity, rising up from the underground to claim whatever they can and establish control over a life that had seemed determined to bury them. Zapp is not one of these people. Zapp's father is somebody who was once of some importance to Corellia. Though Corellia is not generally known as a beacon of stability or wealth, Zapp grew up in relatively luxury. Most of her childhood was spent in her father's shadow on Coruscant, observing the political movements of the great machine of democracy and being groomed to inherit her family's many manufacturing interests on Corellia itself. As soon as she was old enough, she blew off all of that nonsense.

She was eventually dragged back and forced to make something of herself or risk being cut off from daddy's money. This cycle repeated a half-dozen times until Zapp was enrolled in a naval academy followed by Med school. This time it stuck, and while she did escape the damage was done at that point - Zapp had been taught how to serve the interest of her father's business and worse, given the skills to help people AGAINST HER WILL. In another life, she might've made a fairly passable nurse and occupational therapist. The scars of this indignity will never truly heal.

As one might imagine, Zapp was eager to escape once more. Since then, she has been tooling about the midrim serving as the concierge, henchman, and assistant to dozens of small-time crime lords and gang interests. Zapp has diligently worked her way up several organizational ladders over the years. Her ability to schmooze the higher ends of a power structure is only rivaled by her ability to infuriate the lower, though most of her employers are entirely fine with this once they get a look at all the metrics and numbers Zapp is able to make go endlessly up, up, up.

While Zapp has never directly betrayed any of her former employers (and, indeed, has never done anything wrong or bad in her entire life) it remains a fact that she's left a fairly sizable trail of sad-sacks who are resentful that Zapp didn't give them an exit interview before moving on to her next big thing. As a result, she's accumulated a bit of a bounty - not the least of which is her aging father hoping she'll stop all this foolishness and come inherit his legacy. Someday, maybe, she'll retire from her life of splendor, glitz, and excitement to go be fabulously wealthy and powerful. Someday.

Life isn't fair, and few people benefit more from that than Zapp Boomslang.

TRAITS:

+Life isn't Fair: While she's never especially effective at what she sets out to do - at least not, more than other people - Zapp has an uncanny ability to dodge the long-term consequences of her actions. A combination of contacts, wealth, contingencies, and natural slipperyness means that while she's easy to arrest, she's hard to jail, and easy to punch but hard to injure. Being down rarely keeps her out for long, ad she usually has access to enough other people's money to enjoy a decent standard of living without having to try. Zapp is a FANTASTIC assistant. She's good with money, organized, ambitious, and brings a broad portfolio of skills to the table. While she is ABSOLUTELY a scheming vizier, she doesn't let her schemes get in the way of being a FANTASTIC vizier, and as such never struggles very long to find a patron.

+What Could Have Been: While she'd never have settled for something so disgustingly PEDESTRIAN, Zapp's insight and attention to detail made her a fairly good nurse. Her father's insistence on grooming her to take command of his business and political ambitions paid dividends - she'd be a fantastic asset to Korbin if she could stop self-destructing or getting into trouble for the fun of it.

-Mean For The Sake Of It: Zapp is petty, vindictive, impulsive, and just a bit cruel - whenever she feels she has the opportunity to be. While she usually keeps this impulse in check, it HAS gotten her in trouble quite often. There is usually no shortage of former employees, scammed targets, and wronged bag-holders eager to report her wherabouts or otherwise seek revenge on her. She isn't hard to find as a result.

-Can't Stop Should Stop Zapp is insatiably curious and greedy to a fault. Anyone who's known her for more than a few minutes should be able to tell that about her, unless she's trying REALLY hard to butter them up. Her drive to get into other people's pockets or business leads her to make foolish mistakes that more chemically-balanced criminals might not. Her motivations are simple - excitement, greed, and status - but they dominate her completely.

-Gotta play the game: By far and away, Zapp's greatest asset is her father's money and influence. While he'd probably never cut her off entirely, if Zapp winds up on the news or threatening his credibility, it would complicate her standard of living. Further, she periodically has to go home and play nice if she wants to keep the flow coming. Sometimes this means attending important meetings or decisions in his stead, or pretending to go legit for weeks or months at a time. He sometimes sends retrieval teams after her, he sometimes comes to drag her off by the ear himself.

-Can't be Easy: Zapp frequently over-complicates things for no other reason than compulsion - at least when it comes to her own ambitions, as she tends to be much more direct when serving the interests of whomever her patron is at the moment. Whether due to an inflated sense of her own capabilities or a desire to make an impact, she frequently goes above and beyond when it comes to planning - and not in a useful way. She would never steal something when she could organize a heist. Her tendency to introduce layered schemes and (accidental) points of failure often means they're often doomed to failure before they even properly begin. Sometimes, this works in her favor - creating obfuscating layers of nonsense planning occasionally results in a favorable outcome. Oddly enough, her schemes always seem to work out when she's helping people. This rarely occurs.

BIOGRAPHY:

Zapp is a relatively short human woman with a big presence. She dresses immaculately, paying keen attention to both the local trends and the communities she ingratiates herself with. Carrying herself with confidence regardless of circumstance comes naturally to her, and projecting her voice as though on stage is second-nature. Most things about Zapp are, to some degree, performative in this way. She postures for an audience in one-on-one conversations, grins menacingly at the backs of people's heads after speaking with them, and generally conducts herself a bit like a cheap holosoap villain most of the time. Zapp's outfits tend to look either like clubwear... or mildly evocative of military uniforms, aside from the fact that she hasn't worn flats in twelve years.

Zapp's naturally dirty blonde hair has been bleached stark white and streaked with glowing neon highlights - typically pink. While she usually carries a blaster of some sort, it's relatively easy to tell that her weapons are chosen more for fashion than for self-defense.
