STRENGTHS

• The Zalketh Class Frigate is designed to fill a variety of roles that might be needed by the Conclave, from front line combat ship to system patrol craft. It can engage enemy vessels at a variety of ranges due to both laser and missile weaponry, and defend itself against starfighters in a pinch.

WEAKNESSES

• The Zalketh engines are extremely powerful for a ship of its size, but this power comes at the expense of turning speed. The Zalketh can accelerate in straight lines quickly, but anything beyond a minor turn is an extremely slow and drawn out process.

DESCRIPTION
The foundations for the Zalketh Class Frigate were made during the closing days of the Sith-Imperial Civil War. Intended to originally serve as a new cruiser to help shore up the defenses of the Sith Empire, the class was mothballed following the final advances of the New Imperial Order of the time. The design team in charge of the Zalketh Class would go into exile in the Tingle Arm for fear of reprisal from both the newly formed Empire and the Ashlan Crusade as they expanded through former Sith Empire territory. They held onto the design for years until they were found by Darth Osiris.

Seeing the merit in the design, Osiris brought the design team into his growing organization, the Conclave, so that they could further refine, and eventually, begin production of the warship. Due to the limited resources of the Conclave, the Zalketh had to be converted from a cruiser sized ship to a frigate, and the design was streamlined to allow it to handle a variety of roles and serve as the mainstay ship for the Conclave in its infancy. Completion of the first model, the Ordained, marked the official beginning of the Zalketh Class Frigate in service to the Conclave.

So I have been stalking the factory area on a daily basis since I joined the site, first out of curiosity, then out of a desire to give things a try.
