DESCRIPTION

The Z5 Maintenance Droid is the fifth droid designed as a part of the Zenithar-series. While the Z3 Labor Droid could perform minor repairs, it wouldn't be with the efficiency that a more dedicated droid could provide. Purchasing Z3 Labor Droids for minor maintenance duties is simply overkill, and so Hegemonic Automaton designed the Z5 Maintenance Droid to fulfill that role.

The Z5 benefits from the advanced J2 Droid Brain, allowing it to be programmed with the schematics and data for thousands upon thousands of different devices. Not only that, but the J2 brain also allows the Z5 greater efficiency and effectiveness in carrying out its duties. Even in jobs where it must improvise due to lack of specific schematics, the Z5 performs well. Very rarely will one find that a repair job undertaken by a Z5 has been botched.

As with most maintenance droids, the Z5 is burdened down with a wide variety of tools to get the job done. Ranging from a plastifibe agitator (which is a lot less important than it sounds, trust me) to a simple manipulator arm, the Z5 is prepared to tackle almost any broken piece of machinery you can throw at it.
The inclusion of Neuro-Saav's "NeuroCoat Everlast" over internal components reduces the need for regular maintenance on the droid. This does not completely eliminate the need, but it does cut quite a lot of cost when compared to other droid models.

This maintenance droid is best used for just that- maintenance. The Z5 can be used anywhere from massive military bases, military ships, hospitals, garages, or even spaceports. Even without the necessary schematics or programming, the Z5 can generally repair anything from faulty speeders to a broken generator. Z5s, if left without a memory wipe for prolonged periods of time, will typically start trying to seek creative outlets. This usually manifests in Z5s attempting to make their own contraptions, upgrading themselves, decorating their chassis, and such like. This doesn't seem to impact their work for the most part, but owners should still be cautious.

Infrequent memory wipes can lead to a Z5 going rogue from the custody of its owner and attempting to pursue a career in the arts and humanities. If customers refuse to memory wipe their droid, being accommodating to the eccentricities of the Z5 is recommended. If not, it will probably attempt to escape and live life on its own.

Hegemonic Automaton is not responsible for the actions of Z5 Maintenance Droids that achieve sapience.
